I had a horrible experience here. My waiter was very impatient when asking questions about the spice levels. The meal I ordered was very spicy despite him saying it was not. The portions are very small. The final straw was the bug in my creame brûlée. No manager came over and no one bothered to apologize. The waiter snatched if from the table and walked away so fast I couldn’t even tell him to not bring another.
I would NOT recommend. A disgusting waste of money. It truly ruined my Mother’s Day.
The server (Rene) was rude and acted irritated that we brought our own wine (though the restaurant allows it and we were perfectly happy paying the $25 corkage fee per bottle). He was irritated when we asked for a bucket to put the white wine in and left us to pour all our own wine all night, though he poured for all the other guests. Three of the four dishes were very good (Shrimp Étouffée, Short Ribs and Drum fish). I ordered the Pasta Primavera dish with crab on top. It was very bland. I asked for crushed red pepper flakes and the server told me their kitchen doesn't use them and does not even keep them in the kitchen. Huh????? I was afraid to ask for salt and parmesan, which it also needed badly. Anything to give the sauceless pasta some flavor! I always enjoy pasta primavera but the only good thing in this dish was the carrots. The server was also obviously irritated that I asked for the additional spice for my dish. He was very attentive to other tables around us but outright ignored us. Also, the appetizer came out after the salads and soups were served.
Trout Almandine was spectacular. As was the Godchaux salad.
All 4 of us raved about the food. We've been many times before, and have even hosted a large party there; food has always been excellent, and is getting better.
Appetizer Oysters en Brochette were good, I enjoyed my dish Shrimp Ettouffe. My wife had the Seared New York Strip which was over cooked and tasteless. I tried it as well. Waste of $34.
Overall, food was not what I would expect. Service and ambiance were great though.
Excellent meal and service.
Good food with their new chef and service was excellent. We enjoyed creative cocktails. Shared three different oyster dishes. Best of group were the Oyster Rockefeller but others were good. Paneed gulf fish had a marvelous seasoning.
Worst service I have ever had. The waiter was out of his mind. He was so rude and made me feel bad for asking for season free fish. He took forever to bring drinks so much so we had to go to the bar and get them ourselves. He would mumble passive aggressive things under his breath when we asked for something. He slammed the burnt bread upside down wrapped in a linen where the bread touched the table and didn’t say a word and walked away. It was very odd behavior. There was a table that came in about 1.5 hours after we were sat and we still didn’t have our dinner.
If you want great food,, great drinks and a wonderful experience ,,This is definitely the place to go.we have now been there 4times and it is the same results Wonderful.
Never a rush atmosphere, treat yourself go
Great food, service and drinks!!
Aleays a treat eating here!
Our first time here. We had superb cocktails at the bar before sitting down to a wonderful meal. Great wine list and an array of dishes that satisfy all. Cannot wait to come back!
Great spot that went above and beyond to serve us. We just got into town, they were closing (10pm) and still insisted that we could make reservations and order. Also the food was great. Highly recommended
Fantastic from start to finish! Terrific service, great food, and perfect date night ambiance. Already planning our return!
Great meal! Only let down was that we were really looking for (and booked) outdoor seating...and while there were 2 tables outside...they were more or less on the sidewalk/in the street. We were easily able to get a table inside and had a lovely meal...but if you are booking this for a fun outdoor dining experience, I would advise you to go elsewhere. :)
Portions were way smaller than expected. Don’t order a salad as a meal....it’s tiny. Food was overpriced for what we got and the experience we were hoping for.
Food was just Ok. We had a really nice waiter and he provided excellent service. I am from NOLA and have had the good fortune to eat at many great restaurants. The food here was good but for the prices charged it needs to up its game. In NOLA it needs to be better than good especially at this price level.
Just a good, medium-formal restaurant with good cocktails and food. The atmosphere is good, not too loud, and overall enjoyable.
From the moment we walked in all of the staff was wonderful, especially our server Rene. He was outstanding. The food was balanced, delicious and walked the line of local and upscale perfectly. We live in New Orleans and will absolutely be back.
Everything was fantastic, and all of the portions were very generous.
We thoroughly enjoyed dinner, the food was delicious. The environment was comfortable and the service was friendly and efficient. We had initially requested outdoor seating but promptly changed when we saw that the only outdoor seats were out front . It was not only not scenic, I might consider it dangerous so close to Annunciation.
Best dining experience in our 4 days in New Orleans!!! Amazing food and drinks, awesome service and nice, relaxing atmosphere!
The upstairs is a bit stark and lonely if you are there before 7. They tried to put us in the darkest corner and we were the only ones there at 6:50, we asked to move of course but it was so oddly barren. Def seat downstairs. Rene the waiter is great!
We were staying at a hotel in the Warehouse District and Annunciation was a close walk on a Sunday night. My husband has a shellfish allergy and wanted to ensure he would have choices at any restaurant in NOLA. Annunciation exceeded our expectations. Food was superb from the beet salad, chicken and sausage gumbo, drum fish entree to the banana foster bread pudding for dessert. Decent wine by the glass selection. Our server, Carlos, was professional and friendly. Restaurant and restrooms were clean. Would definitely recommend and return if in the area. One of our best meals on our 2 week road trip.
100% would recommend for anyone looking for a delicious meal from beginning to end. Great wine selection as well!
Great food and service in a relaxing atmosphere.
We had an impromptu date night this past Sunday and they had open tables, so we went there (hadn't been in years). Great choice. The tables are spread very far apart and they seem to take social distancing seriously. The staff was very friendly. The food is high quality and very fairly priced. The wine list is great. I'll definitely remember this place and will be back again soon.
If you haven't been to Annunciation you are missing out,,the food outstanding,,drinks are even better The Eggplant is wonderful.
Service was excellent. Food tastes were great.
Delicious food and great service.
Great food. Kids enjoyed—enough said. Service was exceptional. Would definitely return
The server was
It was absolutely wonderful!! Fool was great...wait staff on point!!
Annunciation never disappoints. The food is wonderful and the service attentive. Sometimes it can get a bit loud with a boisterous table.... I guess that is true most places.
Check it out if you haven't enjoyed Annunciation yet
This is our fav spot!! Food and service is superb!
good food and great service. will be back but prefer downstairs next time.
Our server Sam was SO WONDERFUL! And the food is amazing. Will definitely be back.
Great service. Loved the food. Definitely upscale and well worth the money. Something for everyone in the family to enjoy. And the desserts were unique and amazing!
Been to most top restaurants in city, I am comfortable saying this was at the top and second to non
Annunciation has always been one of the most comfortably romantic restaurants we have visited. A true local classy place with a modern/historic ambiance, lively entry and bar seating. Our server Carlos was a true gentleman and the bartender Garroway an overall pleasure and never-ending smile. We always look forward to going.
Nice place in the warehouse district. I've been here several times and the food is good and service always great.
