The place could be so much more. Nothing is really bad. We choose the cheese and meat fondue. The cheese fondue was ok nothing special and the heater keep turning of and the bread was stale . The meat was sadly presented but good. The sauce nice but nothing to go with. It feels like the end of a restaurant.

Big disappointment. For an Austrian fondue place they did a terrible job with what should be very easy to make. First the lights were on so brightly we all had to ask they dim them which they did. The waiter gave us menus that had no fondue on them and then when we asked if they had fondue he said yes but that they rarely serve it. Weird. The food was not good, service grumpy. We had a great group and were pretty excited for a big great meal - didn't happen.

Apple strudel for desert is excellent.
Old fashioned settings, out dated uniforms for the servers, old fashion table linen, and chairs.

This is definitely not an authentic Swiss restaurant! Service was subpar! Eat at the bistro upstairs much more lively basically the same menu.
Would not go back!

Who wouldn’t want a fondue restaurant in a ski resort to be awesome? And it’s such a simple thing to get right. They fail miserably. Atmosphere is terrific. Fondue actually tastes good. Otherwise it’s awful. Avoid unless you are truly desperate for fondue.

Enjoyed our 30th anniversary at the Alpenrose.

We had a window table overlooking the front of Teton Village.

Service was outstanding and so were the starters, entrees and deserts.

We had the pumpkin soup, kale salad, bison ribeye, veal cutlet, and apple strudel. Each bite tasted like heaven.

We did not know what to expect being in Jackson Hole for our first time. The restaurant's atmosphere is warm , cozy and romantic. The service was impeccable but the food was to die for. This type of Culinary work You would expect in New York City. You are in Wyoming but transported to Europe with a phenomenal menu with something for everyone:)

A winter ski trip and fondue go hand in hand for our group. Although we've always had some misgivings about the ambiance at the Alpenrose, it is the best option for fondue in Jackson, and the food has always been good. In fact, we've never had bad fondue anywhere. Until our recent visit to the Alpenrose, when something was off. The recipe, the preparation, new Chef? I'm not sure, but our experience was ruined. The "fondue" was a big glob of cheese floating in lukewarm Kirsch. The consistency was all wrong. The manager was quite nice, but attempts to fix the dish failed (came back as a flour heavy thick mixture). Although we were offered other dishes, we had our heart set on fondue. Hopefully the issue can be corrected, or it was just a fluke.

We came to the Alpenrose specifically because they had Fondue Chinoise and Raclette listed on their main menu on every website we found. They do not tell you that these higher-end menu items are not available in the main restaurant, but only available upstairs in the bar/bistro, even though both are served by the same kitchen. I have never encountered this at any restaurant before. I could understand these items only being available in the main restaurant and not the bar, but not the reverse. They were also not at all accommodating to my wife's celiac disorder (ie gluten allergy) and served bread mixed in with other items on the same plate despite a specific request to not do so. The simple venison stew I ordered was plated very sloppily with some stew spilled over the sides of what was a fancier presentation plate (and the taste was very bland and salty on top of this). It all gave me the impression that they really did not want our business. For the price paid for dinner, we received a lower level of service and accommodation than we typically get at a standard chain restaurant. Extremely disappointing experience, and not worth the price!

Great place to enjoy family dinner. Annual Christmas Eve tradition for years. Always delicious food and wonderful service. Authentic food dishes well prepared and always dependable quality. Highly recommend.

Made a reservation for fondue on Christmas Eve, however upon getting there found out they only take reservations for the downstairs that doesn't serve fondue (no way to know that from website or booking) but the bar wasn't crowded so they sat us informing us that they were out of oil and chocolate fondue. Bar area probably would be great for apres ski drinks but I'd not the best for romantic dinners. While we were eating (fondue was okay, make it better at home) at least 3 other groups came in with the same mixup as us. They'd booked dinner wanting fondue and were told they had to eat upstairs if they want fondue and that most of the fondue was gone. They also stopped serving at 8 even though a lot of people made reservations at 8:30. It's was quite good dinner entertainment but they are so disorganized they have no idea what's going on upstairs or down. Would not recommend for anything but drinks. Then I found out they later told OpenTable we didn't show up for our reservation. Yep, really know what they're doing.

Food was good, service was not good. It took over an hour for entrees to be served. We were not sure if they forgot about us or if their kitchen could not keep up. We did not stay for dessert. We got there early at 6:10, we did not leave until about 8:10, so we were there before the dinner rush.

I have enjoyed the casual Alpenhof bar many times, and think the food is great. The Alpenrose was lovely as well -- quiet, which is rare these days, and our group loved it as we could actually TALK to each other. However, two of us did think our food much too salty (that could be easily corrected). The others loved their walleye...

It was a memorable dinner. Our daughter loved the fondue and the huckleberry cheesecake. Portions were just right. We just did not like the taste of the " grain of salt" on the side dish. Server was not able to catch up for providing water. Guess, establishment needs extra hand.

We had a delicious dinner with authentic European cuisine. A great chance to expose our kids (ages 10 to 17) to something other than hamburgers and chicken tenders while we were staying at Teton Village. The fondue (both the cheese during dinner and the chocolate fondue for dessert) were the biggest hit, although they also liked the goulash and elk steak. The service was good and timely. The kids all so interested in the experience, no one was on a screen. A win.
