This space is accessed by a separate entrance, has four walls and a door so that it is perfect for private presentations and dinner meetings without outside interference. Alexander"s is one of the premiere catering operations in the Roanoke/SW Virginia region, offering full service for cocktail parties, private dinners, receptions and similar events in our private Gallery Dining Room. We are also a very popular choice for guests and groups staying at Hotel Roanoke who seek an off-site location for receptions and dinners for business functions, reunions and wedding rehearsal dinners.     Travelled all over the U.S. and this has been my favorite restaurant, no question about it. I highly recommend Alexander’s, not just for the superb food made out of the highest quality and freshest ingredients, but also for the caring and welcoming staff.

    Second time here and superb again. Food , service, atmosphere—all top notch. Yes it’s pricey but absolutely worth it. I worked for 35+ years in Manhattan and the food and presentation and service are equal to NYC’s restaurants. Definitely special occasion worthy. We will certainly be back again.

    We had a great dinner at the window table with family in from out of town. Loved it all, as always!!! From cocktails and wine right through to amazing desserts- impeccable service and the best atmosphere for enjoying a terrific meal and conversation together.

    We hadn't been to Alexander's for a few years - and now I regret letting so much time lapse between visits! The food was delicious (we had scallops, rabbit, and shrimp and grits), and the service was very good. Dessert (bread pudding and strawberry vanilla cake) was delish too! We'll be back!

    Going to Alexander's is like dining at the home of old friends who happen to be superb chefs and hosts. I would give more than 5 stars to each category if only I could. I do wish we lived closer; it is an anticipated event when we are able to go.

    Passing through Roanoke in search of a quality dining experience and Alexander’s was a very good option. Easy to find/park in the downtown area. This is an old school fine dining restaurant. Quiet and sophisticated in a traditional manner, the food is the attraction. Everything we ate was exceptional. Service was wonderful. Only drawback….dining room was only sparsely occupied.

    Thank you to everyone at Alexander’s for another enjoyable dining experience. The service is exemplary. The menu selections were very good. We had French Onion soup with a broth so rich it left you wishing you had more. The Deconstucted crab egg roll appetizer was fabulous. Our entrees for the evening were the Pecan Encrusted Chicken and the Roasted Duck. Both were excellent. The cocktails were very good also. Overall this is a restaurant that needs to be on your list.

    To thank someone who was a great help when I was closing my medical practice …. It was a perfect evening! We were VERY slow due to my recent dental surgery, but our waitress was wonderful and never made us feel rushed 😊
