Alchemy - Elements Ratings and Reviews
1st Bad experience here...Specials never told to us, had to ask...Appetizers: grilled romaine salad and shrimp and grits… Shrimp and grits were delicious… Romain salad seemed wilted and not grilled and was actually not enjoyed… Main courses were steak alchemy which was ordered medium… Steak was served exceptionally rare almost purple... I asked server what came with the steak, were there potatoes(garlic smash) or not… Said all sides were Ala-Carte, so I ordered potatoes on the side… Guess what? Potatoes were underneath my raw steak , so I had 2 orders of potato’s...My wife’s Snapper seemed like it came out of the microwave…It tasted very bland.... first time for everything… I’m sure it was a busy night… Hopefully it’s a blip...
We went early on Valentine’s Day to avoid the rush. My husband ordered Crab Bisque followed by Seafood Carbonara. I ordered Caramelized Avocado & Baby Greens Salad followed by Pecan Crusted Lamb Chops. Everything was delicious. We took home carrot cake for dessert later. Love this place.
As always the meal and service were superb!
I get the Cauliflower Bites every time I’m at Alchemy Elements. I could overdose on them. 😉I had the vegetable ramen for my entree which was a delicious vegetarian option. They always have an excellent vegetarian entree which varies with each season.
Dessert was the brownie with caramel sauce which was the perfect sweet ending to a memorable culinary delight.
Thank you AE!
We had excellent service and the food was very good. The bar tender was also very friendly. One issue. We were celebrating our elderly mother’s a birthday on a Sunday evening and was told that they would not put a candle in her dessert. The hostess told me the owner does not like to do so ??? Do not go for a birthday.
Overall, and excellent eating experience. The service was prompt and professional and never was obtrusive. Whenever we needed anything, our server was right there almost as if she anticipated our needs.
French onion soup stayed hot the whole time we were eating it. Just the right amount of crunchiness on the cheese.
This will be a regular restaurant on our rotation.
Stopped by for restaurant week on Sunday; had a great lunch! Had the Onion Soup and the TBLT sandwich. Small portion on the soup but the sandwich was full size. My understanding is that the regular portion for the soup is much larger. Had great cocktails at the bar!
We got together with our adult children for Restaurant Week. We each ordered something different and passed it around. That way we could get a taste of various foods. We all thought everything was delicious. I wish I could remember the name of our server because she was excellent and a lot of fun!
Went for my wife’s birthday. I don’t remember our servers name, but she was outstanding. She was there whenever we needed something, but didn’t hover over the table. She brought over a toast of champagne for my wife for her birthday which was a nice touch. I had the Indian chicken entree and my wife had the pork belly ramen. Both were very good and nice portion size. We would like to go back to try other dishes.
The waiter was very attentive and good at recommending choices. The menu had a good selection of seasonal dishes to please every palate and the main courses are presented well. The booths are a little uncomfortable with a stiff “L” shape, but I would recommend the venu for any occasion. We have been here many times and have always had a good meal.
Have been to alchemy many times but was very disappointed in the red snapper. Deep fried n dry. My roasted salad was a disappointment too. However, my dining companion was very pleased with his bisque and carbonara dish. We were early 6pm and got in before the crowd therefore can’t blame them on being busy. Will try again as I’m hoping the chef just had an off night.
Our overall experience was good. There were just two things we weren't satisfied with.
1) The cauliflower appetizer was sickeningly lemony. We considered asking for another dish but decided not to.
2) the side salads were very dry and consisted of mostly leaves) The $12 avocado salad we bought had 4 slices of avocado and the bulk of the rest were leafy greens with barely any vinaigrette.
1) service was great
2) A nice romantic atmosphere
3) Our main dish was great! (A specialty not listed on the online menu: squash with quinoa/veggie filling.)
4) It wasn't too noisy
Saturday w the family brunch waitress was good my only concern is the inability to adapt the menu choices for instance my mother does not like onions and the potatoes included onions so she requested to get grits but they could not substitute even though grits were on the menu
Best restaurant in Bel Air. Was good when it opened and just keeps growing. Nice atmosphere, good cocktails, nice wine list with Debbie the sommelier with nice surprises always. Michael the chef is very talented with diverse cuisine. Not many restaurants downtown worth driving to. A+.
We brought in the New Year with our fantastic dinner at Alchemy Elements Restaurant.
The food was delicious, great recommendations by our Server, Guy, who recommended
a great wine to compliment our meal. His service is outstanding. We look forward to
returning to Alchemy Elements for another wonderful meal.
First time at AE and it was rather delicious. The burrata appetizer was one of the best we've had and perfectly sized for two people to share. The drinks were all amazing and quite diverse- something for everyone. I had the short-rib entree special which was good, but didn't pack the most powerful flavor punch. My girlfriend had the grouper which was delicious and flavorful, but came out somewhat cold. AE is definitely a nice option in Bel Air, whether for a family gathering or a night out with friends.
Typically enjoy my meals at Alchemy but this time everything seemed off. Our server is usually very good, attentive/informative. This time it just seemed like she needed to get our orders and keep things moving. It took way too long to get our cocktails. We received out appetizer before our initial drink order. All of the food was very average..everything lacked flavor and needed salt. We were with a group of 6 (our family from out of town) so regardless of where we went we would have had a good time. It was just disappointing because my husband and i have been there several times for brunch and lunch and were always pleased. Maybe it was just an off night, but nonetheless disappointing.
Disappointed compared to last years Christmas Eve meal. Didn’t care for the menu. Three out of five of us had the Indian chicken francais. One wouldn’t eat much of it, and the other two complained it had very little spice in it. The rice was dry also. And $3.75 for a glass of ice tea was kind of high. Best part of the meal were the 2 appetizers we ordered. The dessert menu was lacking also . All the desserts were very heavy. Nothing for someone wanting a light dessert. You were out of sorbet, disappointing for a lactose intolerant child. Probably won’t be back.
Wow! Dinner was excellent and our server was attentive and responsive. Charcuterie board was well thought out as our app. Smashed potato serving was huge and tasty. The Brussels were presented well with a creamy texture.
Dessert serving was a take home size with the peanut butter fudge cake as a slab size for four!
