Overpriced and overrated. I was very disappointed with the food, service, and ambiance of this place. My wife and I ordered the dine downtown 4-course menu at $45/person and not one single dish made the cut. The first course was cured salmon with egg plus Gambas (grilled shrimp) with avocado; the seasoning was bland and the meat did not feel fresh. The second course was a cauliflower soup, which was the worst cream soup I’ve ever paid for; it was comparable to hospital soup, lacking seasoning and texture. The Third course was a paella with cuttlefish and prawns over dark sticky rice (infused with “sepia ink”). Rice tasted like it was soaked in fat; my wife and I couldn’t even finish this shared dish. Lastly was dessert: flan or chocolate cake; we had one of each and they were ok. My wife had a $12 bourbon-based cocktail, which she said was decent but seems way overpriced. Their attention to detail was so low, they didn’t even notice how unsatisfied we were with this place - no questions asked when we left half a paella unfinished. I don’t recommend this place nor will we return.
Great value and good Spanish food. I have eaten here a few times and have always found the service very friendly and the food quite good. For Dine Downtown, their meal offered was a tremendous value.
The mushroom/meat Paella was good but a bit underseasoned (could have used a little acid/salt. The soup had plenty of white pepper but was again missing the acid/salt element and there is no salt at the tables.
Both desserts were outstanding. We will eat there again.
Very good paella and excellent tapas. Server was very attentive and knowledgeable, I would definitely go back again!
First time at Aioli Bodega and will definitely be back.
We went here for our anniversary dinner - a big mistake. The service was fine, we were seated at a nice table, there weren't too many people in the restaurant, so it felt comfortable, our waiter was friendly and attentive, and he wore a mask. However, the food was a major disappointment. We ordered two glasses of Sangria. I found it expensive at $8.50 per glass, but I also hadn't been eating out for the last couple of years, so maybe this is normal now. The Sangria was watered down by ice cubes. There was way too much ice in the glass. Plus, the normally fruity taste of a Sangria was overpowered by cinnamon. Had I not known it is supposed to be Sangria, I would never have recognized by the taste. It was by far the worst Sangria I have ever had. My husband ordered Paella Valenciana. He said it was somewhat bland as far as spices go, and just okay. I ordered the soup of the day, which was okay, the arugula salad, also just okay, and a Tortilla Tres Colores. Now, a Spanish tortilla contains potatoes, I have lived in Spain, and I have had many a tortilla, but this dish was nothing I have ever had before, and not in a good way. It was mainly cold egg, and I mean ice cold, as in removed from the freezer and stuck into the microwave for a few seconds. It did not taste fresh or like much of anything. I mainly tasted the aioli, which was thickly smeared on top. And I couldn't make out or taste any potatoes at all. The dish didn't look appetizing and it tasted absolutely awful. The prices at this restaurant are outrageous in relation to the quality of food you receive. Please don't be fooled. A high price doesn't automatically mean good quality. Never ever again. I would have been happier buying a cheap meal from a food truck. Safe your money and go elsewhere.
Also, what's the point of asking if you are making the reservation for a special occasion, when it is not being recognized in any way.
Delightful! Wonderful NYE dining experience. Excellent service. Main dishes and special dessert were all incredible. Didn’t love the stuffed calamari tapas, we were expecting them warm and they were cold (by design). So only critique is nobody checked on how we were enjoying the meal. Everything else was spectacular and we will definitely be back!
Malik was outstanding xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx
The food was very tasty. The service was slow on first arrival. Once approached the service was excellent .
We shared a few tapas and one main course for the 3 of us.
The special salad, persimmon, pomegranate, and goat cheese, was excellent.
The salmon, shiitake mushroom ravioli, and shrimp with garlic tapas were also excellent. The lamb shank with ragu was only okay....and it was a bit cold when served.
One of our favorite spots for a fantastic meal.
Great food and ambiance! Drinks are really good too!
Excellent Christmas Eve meal with my family! Fantastic service, thank you!
Rib eye, lamb shanks and Conoloni were perfect in every way! Wine selection and cocktails were exceptional. Service was top notch. A gem of a spot! Thank you for providing a perfect Christmas Eve dinner for me and my family.
Outstanding restaurant! Only wish we had a little more time to try the Paella (we had tickets to the Nutcracker) but we’ll be back, for sure. Ordered sangria and an assortment of tapas…each was delicious and unique. Soooo good! We can’t wait to get back. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Our first time at Aioli and it was a great experience. Great customer service!
So fun! Had a wonderful meal before our play. Food was excellent - between the 4 of us we shared hit and cold tapas and main course and of course…. Dessert! Very pretty for the holidays - Santa in a beautiful old world coat, visited our table. We were seated on time …Music was a little loud but all in all a 5 star dinner!!
A go-to place for us when we want a very nice dinner
The food were delicious and comes fast. (Maybe because we were early). However, the service was not the kind I want my friends to experience. The waiter maybe cant understand us or we cant understand him? Not sure.
We had a lovely meal and time at Aioli before we went to a concert at Golden One. It was an anniversary dinner, so it was a special night for us. My only issue with the whole evening was where the entrance was! I felt like we came through a back door, following another group, and frankly, we were made to feel like it! Weird looks, weird vibes, weird checking in for our reservation….but once we were sat, the service was amazing and the food was spectacular. With the outdoor dining area and the holiday decor inside, if the entrance issue was just clarified, I’d give it a solid five stars!
We were there at 1pm on a weekday and it wasn’t crowded. We shared several things and each one was delicious. Best tapas in town
It all began bad. I’d made a reservation over a week ago and when we got there the man said it didn’t matter that we’d have to wait and that he had no idea how long it would be and if we wanted we could go elsewhere.
Once we got seated it took about ten minutes for the waiter to ask us what we wanted to drink. It took more than 10 minutes to get it. We wanted to try the paella so we ordered it right away because it was going to take about 45 minutes to be ready. Meanwhile we ordered other appetizers and dinner plates. That took above 25 minutes. My cousin’s order came out wrong so before eating it she told the waiter. He said he was going to get in trouble but he’d bring the right one out. We all got our plates except my cousin’s husband. They said it would come out with the paella. We finally got the paella about an hour later. It was ok food. We ordered our dessert and finally asked for our tab. When we got it we saw that we’d been charged for the mistaken plate. We brought it to the server’s attention and he said my cousin had made a mistake and that he’d written it down so he could show it to her. The way he spoke sounded like he was upset and challenging. We went ahead and were going to pay it when he came back he’d corrected it. He looked rather not happy. We went ahead and paid it and a tip.
This was supposed to be a nice dinner out but turned into more of a “never coming back” experience. Other restaurants will very kindly and professionally say”Sorry about that” and won’t charge for it plus offer a free dessert. Not here. We should have known starting from the rude tone of the man voice that greeted us. Very unprofessional. I forgot to say that the layout of the restaurant is rather odd and the patio is a little messy. Again, never going back.
Host was unhappy that we only had 1.25 hrs to dine, and he made that clear. We had the house “special de jour”, Sea Bass as it were. Flavor was good, fish was cooked more to the rare side. Side dish, Brussels Sprouts, lacked flavor and the bread served was marginal. This may just be how they do business, but I was left unimpressed.
We've been to Aiola before and had a wonderful time. However this experience was lackluster - from the service to the food. We started off with tapas and I remembered their octopus and gambas were delicious. When they arrived the octopus was over cooked and tough to eat and the gambas tasted fishy. Service was also lacking with us having to wait 20+ minutes to get a server to come to us on a slow Thursday night and servers forgot plenty of items asked for we just stopped asking. It was so bad at end we just ended up going directly to the kiosk to pay instead of waiting longer for them to show. Overall I will not be coming back to this restaurant.
Super nice wait staff, great food and wine value.
My first night in Ca. Was a real treat
Always excellent. Recommend Aoli for those who love authentic Spanish food.
I took my cousin here to celebrate her birthday. Our server was Malik and he was very kind and helpful and accommodating throughout the experience. My cousin ordered a pitcher of the sangria and we agreed it was the best we’ve had! The food was absolutely delicious. It came out at the right temperature in a timely manner. We had the pa am tomaquet, gambas ajillo, salmon alcaparado, ravioles caseros con hongos, and finished with the flan. I would highly recommend everything. The owner was around and was very hospitable as well. I will definitely be coming back!
We were seated and waited about half an hour - had to ask for a waiter as no one took our order. When we finally got a waiter his service was excellent. Parking is a real challenge! I had to drive for 30 minutes! Food was different and very good.
We always celebrate our anniversary here. The menu is of course awesome especially paella which is worth to wait for long time. Services and recommendations are super great too. All the staffs are so friendly and kind. We highly recommend this place for any special occasion.
I had fun with my friends, but I was disappointed with the food. I won’t be returning. Plus, the place needs a facelift or something. It seems old and dusty. I wish We had gone to Kru for Sushi.
Food was amazing! Presentation beautiful as well.
Food and service was outstanding highly recommend
Delicious food!!! Two thumbs up! They have an authentic Spanish menu, including paella.
Food is not tasty. Presentation of plates are not the best. The flavors of a Spanish food is not there. Service is poor.
Food and service was on point. Mussels and octopus were fantastic!!
Amazing food and service! Can’t wait to go back and try the other items on the menu.
I recommend the duck and lamb! This was our first time at their restaurant, but I have yo go back and try the paella
First, the food is exceptional. We shared many plates. The standout was probably the Portobello mushroom. The prosciutto in the Charcuterie board was the best I ever had as well. Our server Eddie was charming, knowledgeable and very attentive. He is a first class professional and offered great suggestions for both drinks and food. I highly recommend you dine here. Just remember it is Tapas. If you are not familiar with Tapas please google it prior to going.
Wonderful experience at Aioli! First time we’d dined here.. food and cocktails were exceptional. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.
It had been a while since I had gone back to Aiolis and it did not disappoint. The place was very busy but our service and food was as wonderful as in the past. Tried a new Spanish wine Morgadio and also the Parrillada, Paella Valenciana and several tapas, everything was delicious. Dont skip desert, the almond torte and creme brulee were amazing!!!
