Perfect service in a grand setting with fabulous food, tasting menu of small portion but quite tasty and innovative. The overall experience is truly enjoyable and would rate it as the best spot in the San Diego area.
although michelin does not rate restaurants in san diego, i agree with others that addison would merit at least one if not three stars if they did. the service was delightful and welcoming, not stuffy as can be found at some high end restaurants. the sommelier assisted with champagne and sauterne selections and provided a card indicating the producer and vintage so i could find some more at a retail store.
Everything about our experience was amazing. Will definitely try.
Fabulous - but $$$
Great service, amazing food, extensive wine selection - excellent pairings!
One of the most amazing dining experiences we have had. The service was impeccable from the greeting at the door until the farewells. Food amazing, wine pairings spectacular. Service was unreal, friendly efficient and elegant. One of our top 10 dining experiences ever.
everything was spectacular expect for the actual table, we had a party of 7 and they accommodated with a big round table much too big for my liking. Otherwise, wonderful evening.
After living in Paris for 2.5 years, we finally found a restaurant that satisfied our craving for authentic French cuisine. Addison met and exceeded all expectations.
Incredible experience!!! We went with the 10-course chef’s choice. So good but so much food! Our service Jason was great and the service was top notch!
We regret going to Club M afterwards but dinner was amazing!
Wow, what an incredible experience! From beginning to end my husband and I felt like royalty. The chef's tasting menu was exquisite, as was the wine pairing. While pricey, it was worth it! I plan to come back and enjoy this again for my birthday in March. This is an absolute must culinary journey!
There are good restaurants and there are excellent ones. Addison is definitely the latter! From our arrival to the box of cookies at departure, the service was exquisite. Our waiter, Jason, was professional and friendly - he even gave us a tour of the kitchen. Every course of the ‘Chef’s Tasting Menu’ was masterfully presented and fabulously prepared. The wine selection of nearly 100 pages specialized in smaller, less known boutique wines. The atmosphere was elegant and festive. I don’t say this easily, but this is the best dinner experience to be had in San Diego! This experience will set you back a pretty penny, but it is totally worth it! Can’t wait to return.
Amazing! Celebrated two 30th birthdays and loved the entire chefs tasting experience.
We love everything there! Looking forward to our next visit.
This is exceptional fine dining. The menu is fixed and there is a choice between the regular menu of 4 courses and the chef's tasting menu of 10 courses. It is expensive; expect to pay $2-300 per person before wine and gratuity. However, there is nothing else like it in San Diego. The staff will make you feel like royals. If you want a very special experience and excellent, unusual food, there is nothing else to compare with Addison
Been to a lot of Michelin starred restaurants in my time. This is up there with the best of them. Hands down the best fine dining in San Diego. I was here 12 years ago and they’ve progressed exponentially. This is the real deal, and San Diego deserves dining options like this one.
Addison continues to be (by far) the best restaurant in San Diego and one of the best in the US. The atmosphere is extremely well thought out with substantial space between tables and a very tasteful classical decor. The staff are extremely attentive and work together like members of a world class water ballet team. The wine list is extensive and includes outstanding wines from California, France, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia (and elsewhere). And best of all: the food. The only menu that comes close to this in terms of inventiveness is that of the Inn at Little Washington. I would vey strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a spectacular experience.
Addison lives up to every wonderful review that you will read about it. My husband and I had an amazing dining experience that included the 4 course selection. It was beyond excellent. It may seem pricey, but it's definitely worth it. This is a fine dining experience so you might want to use this as an opportunity to dress up.
Loved it! Impeccable service. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!
We woukd like to thank you all for the great time we had. You made us feel more than pampered. Everything was awesome. It was our anniversary romantic dinner that we will certainly remember. See you next time in San Diego.
Had tasting menu. Food was very good but not on par with even 1 Star Michelin that you would find in SF, LA or NYC. Not very innovative/creative. Too expensive for the provided experience. Ambiance not great. Could hear a pin drop. Too formal. Impeccable service however. Overall, value not great. Expectations not met.
This was an incredibly good meal with phenomenal presentation tasting menu was 11 courses and a fantastic wine by the glass list help make this one of my top 10 meals of my life. The only reason I didn’t give this five points for value is the price for the tasting menu was $255 and the shorter price fix was in the $150 range so be prepared with your budget for going here but you probably already know this.
It's virtually impossible of find any fault here: the service, food and venue was stellar.
Awesome, just aswesome. Impeccable service, amazing food. Felt like I was part of a painting.
I think Addison's tasting menu ranks with the top restaurants in the USA. It is on par with the French Laundry in Napa. Hard to find better food or service!
It has to be one of the finest restaurants in California if not the country. Truly outstanding.
Addison is a true fine dining experience and each dish is art on a plate. The Chef’s Tasting with wine pairing is the ultimate fine way to experience this restaurant. By far and away the most incredible and elegant dining experience I have ever had.
This is a restaurant at par with any French Three Michelin stars establishment, welcoming in its atmosphere, inventive in its food and taking you on a journey by an unobtrusive staff that makes your stay here truly magical. Harry Potter couldn’t make it better with all his magic powers...
Go for the full tasting menu and add bubbly to the mix!
You will not be disappointed. Then make it back through the lavish rooms to the cruel reality of the plain food that is waiting for you on the outside.
We’re planning to return, alas, not soon enough...
If you are in Southern California, skip San Diego and head for the hills to the most tranquil oasis, Fairmont Grand Del Mar. The building and the restaurant in name are a testament to enduring inspiration of Addison Mizner, the architect who started it all.
El servicio es fantástico, la comida excelente y el menú de degustación y vinos, sumamente caros pero vale la pena.
Exceptional fine dining. Impeccable service and attention to every detail. Staff is exceedingly knowledgeable regarding food and wine. Tasting menus (including vegetarian) a ‘must have’ experience. Staff Matthew, Thomas and Michael performed in stellar fashion. Ask for a tour of the kitchen. Chef William Bradly can rest assured that his team executes his creative vision in the most minute detail. Addison is a truly exceptional delight in every conceivable way.
The very best place to celebrate our wedding anniversary , we were treated absolutely like royalty, and food and service were superb
The best in San Diego- a wonderful experience.
Impeccable service, never intrusive, and there was no need to ask for anything. Food consistently meets expectations. My favorite dish was the black truffle lasagne.
Service was on point. We couldn’t believe it wasn’t a Michelin rated restaurant.
Diego our main sever was fantastic as was the rest of the staff.
There's may not be a better restaurant in Southern California. The execution was superb and service world class. The sablefish with dehydrated kale and 24kt gold flakes was my favorite course. My date never stopped smiling.
The stars are the customer service, formality, and ambiance. The wine pairings were ok, but I have had better at Saison in San Francisco and at Manresa in Los Gatos. The food was good, but still lacking compared to the other restaurants mentioned. The labels of each wine were not read to me 100% of the time during the pairings.
They need a new pastry chef. That was one of the worst desserts I have ever had during a tasting menu. It was like eating a dry scone during high tea. They need new pastry chef for sure.
All in all, thier strengths would have me come back again, but likely not as often as one would think. I have too many choices in CA to pick from: Providence in La, Studio in Laguna Beach, Manresa in Los Gatos, Saison, Atelier Crenn and Benu in San Francisco, and of course Redd, French Laundry, Bouchon, Meadowood, La Toque in Napa Valley.
This is a great date place because of the service and decor, but it does lack in food when compared to all those other restaurants. It is better than Patina and Melisse in Santa Monica. I would go back but it isn't first on my list if I have to make a weekend of it.
Amazing food and excellent service. Definitely a go-to for special occasions. Celebrated a birthday here and so glad I decided upon this restaurant. Everyone felt so special - was definitely a very memorable evening!!
One of the best in the world. Every dish was magnificent.
Everything was beyond expected, even for a 5 Star. The team service was exceptional. They anticipated our needs.
50th anniversary! Staff went above and beyond and surprised us left and right. Very grateful.
Exceptional. One of the best dining experiences ever. Ambiance is stunning. Service is impeccable. Cuisine is superb. A special place in San Diego to experience fine dining.
Food: The build up to from the first to the last course was amazing. 10/10
Ambience: One warm light shines down on each table to set the mood for the evening of fine dining. 10/10
Table service: Synchronized service made the experience much more worth it. 10/10
Price: $250 a person seems high, but the dining experience prepared by the chef is priceless. A 10 course meal you will never forget. 10/10
