It's expensive, but unlike any other dining experience.
Immediately greeted by the welcoming staff.
Significant revamped menu since our last visit in Feb 2019 and excellent service as always. The name recognition because of the Michelin star certainly made booking a table a lot more difficult but it’s absolutely worth it.
We got the 5-course tasting menu. It was plenty of food, and then some! Although it’s billed as 5 courses, there were far more different and distinct items served. Each one was a taste sensation! We have both done some “fine dining” but this was an outstanding gourmet, foodie experience. We loved everything we were served and the staff people were a delight! The one thing I would advise others to consider is bringing their own wine. Though the corkage fee is steep, the cost of a bottle of wine at the restaurant is about 3 times as much. For us, the value of the food was much higher than the wine, but we’re not wine connoisseurs, so others might feel differently. We had a glass of wine at $25 each for a small amount.
The tasting menu experience was phenomenal! I was very impressed with the selections, as we had recently gone to a vegetarian diet so I wasn’t sure what would be offered. The five courses was more than we could eat! It was exceptional. Thank you!!
Excellent service and food
Was fantastic. Perfect
Food is great and wine paring is excellent. Definitely will visit again.
A superior dining experience! We for a birthday celebration and we were completely thrilled with the entire evening. The 10 course meal with wine pairings made for an exceptional evening. We already have a reservation made for later this year to celebrate my husbands birthday. So happy to have found such a high end restaurant in San Diego.
Memorable! Everything was perfect!
Addison’s restaurant is an amazing experience in dining! Chef and his staff tempt and tantalize every taste bud you have! The food and wine pairings are unbelievably delicious and highly creative!
The food at Addisons is very tasty, complex flavors, technically perfect and beautifully presented. The decor is not DATED as per other reviewers. It is traditional European and very warmly tastefully decorated., but formal as is the service. However the room temperature was cold. It is an experience. The flavors are unique I,e you don’t find the same dishes with the same flavors at other restaurants.
Overall the meal and experience were fantastic and worthy of a once in a lifetime event. Every dish was extremely delicious and very well crafted. It comes through that the chef has elevated his craft to that of fine art. The only things that can be thought as negative were only minor things about certain dishes that came down to personal preferences and the cost of the wine pairing. That shocked us a little bit but I suppose we should have asked beforehand. Other than that it was the best food and ambience we have ever had. The wait staff was also absolutely superb.
Addison is a 3 Michelin star experience!
It was an unforgettable dining experience and a fabulous way to spend my Birthday!!
The staff was lovely and was able to seat us when we arrived 30 minutes early. The food was nothing like I have ever tasted before, and my friends and I had a wonderful experience.
Absolutely incredible. The 10 course tasting menu was nothing short of amazing.
For fine dining, Addison can't be beat in San Diego! Since we last visited they have switched to fixed 5 or 10 course menu. In our view they have made this a successful change with all of the dishes interesting and delicious!
An amazing meal where each course is delicious. Service is outstanding. Addison is a one Michelin star restaurant deserving of 2 stars!
I believe this is the most delicious and beautiful fine dining experience in San Diego. Had the 5 course which was plenty for on empty stomach. Would love to come back and enjoy the additional 5 courses we have missed.
Addison is a restaurant that falls into the category of such spectacular restaurants such as The French Laundry and Eleven Madison Park. Stunning atmosphere from the Salon to the Dining Room. Choreographed service from a team of professionals makes sure that the chef’s cuisine is served its best. Special thanks to Julia and Mario, who were just a few members of the service team.
The food is spectacular, both in presentation and taste. Portions are small, but with so many, you will not leave her hungry. For the foodies reading this review, know that this is not a cheap ticket, particularly the wine list, but it is all well worth the price.
The dishes we enjoyed will be shown in the accompanying pictures
This restaurant is highly recommended, especially for special occasions. You will remember this evening for a long time.
Thank to Chef Bradley, his team and the front of the house team for a wonderful evening.
The best food/ overall experience we have ever had. The food, presentation, and the service are all impeccable.
Food is outstanding. Offers only 5 and 10 course tasting menus, pricey; and alcohol and specials, and additions really drive prices up (like 4 to 500 / person). Decor is dated and grandiose. Waiters are professional, but pricing is opaque and our server non-responsive to my saying I had had enough at 4 hours and wanted to pay and leave! Dinner lasted 4 + hours! Would only recommend 5 course tasting menu, and wait staff needs to learn to attend to customers individual needs, I left feeling that I had been “Addisonised” and am a “survivor” rather than being served individually, which feels a bit weird for over $400. apiece plus alcohol! Consider going to Market or George’s three times rather than Addison!
Wonderful birthday celebration! Choices were 5 or 10 courses. We opted for 10 course with Waygu beef supplement. The beef was incredibly delicious and tender, however, to charge an additional 85.00 for 2 tiny slivers of beef, when the total bill comes in at 850.00, seems a bit much. There should not be an additional charge. Seven out of ten courses were fantastic! Pescatarian courses were excellent, while vegetarian and dessert courses missed.
Service was impeccable. Highly efficient, yet warm and welcoming. The staff absolutely wants you to have a memorable evening. Room was very quiet which was most welcome.
I would definitely recommend Addison for a special occasion. It’s nice to finally have a Michelin rated restaurant in San Diego.
So outstanding on every level that we can’t adequately state it.
Simply superb in every aspect. We felt like we were the only customers there. The 10 course degustation was likely the best meal either of us has ever had and who knows, likely ever will have. Worth every penny. And go for the Corpse XIII Reviver cocktail. Don’t look at the number beside it. Just do it and be happy with your choice like I was.
I was incredibly disappointed. I experienced the same courses, same service, and same overall level of attention that received the restaurant a Michelin Star, and I have to say, after having been to multiple starred restaurant, it’s absolutely appalling that Addison has a star. Seriously, only a single star. This restaurant is easily worth two, and should probably have three. Every single aspect of every single moment was nothing short of perfection. My highest compliments to Chef Bradley and his staff!
It doesn't get better than Addison in San Diego. This is the place for those who take their wine and food seriously. Chef William Bradley and the entire Addison team earned their first Michelin star this year and it's easy to see why. It's an amazing sensory experience, with every detail covered.
We had an evening out with four girlfriends celebrating birthdays. Everything was exceptional. I highly recommend for a special occasion. We did the 10 courses with the wine pairing and it was quite an experience. We loved it!
We have gone to Addison’s previously for special occasions and each and every time, the dining experience is magical. From the time you pull up and are greeted until the time your car door is opened to leave, the staff is AMAZING with the care and attention they give their guests.
We did the five course Chef tasting with a wine pairing and the food as usual was out of this world and the Ris De Veau Glacage “aka” smoke potato purée/jamon iberico/black truffle dish was simply the best thing I have ever eaten - bar none.
We typically have a narrow band of favorite wines we always go to but decided that we would put the wine choices in the staff’s hands and the pairings were perfect.
Of course, fair warning to all, the cost reflects the quality of the experience but if you want that special occasion to be really memorable, Addison’s absolutely needs to be on your dining bucket list. Enjoy!
An amazing dining experience and definitely something to make any celebration an extra special occasion. Fun, creative, interesting, and delicious food is artistically presented in a impressive display of culinary capability.
Incredible food and service. Hands down the finest restaurant in San Diego. Formal, but not stuffy. Creative without being weird for the sake of doing so. My only critique is that the pre-meal offered Champagne by the glass and the Waygu supplement were extremely expensive. Additionally, the wine pairing, while worth it, exactly doubles the price of the tasting menu. I would absolutely come back, minus the first glass of champagne and any supplemental courses.
Divine tasting menu
Addison is food as art. Stunningly superb in all respects!
Truly exceptional dining experience
Excellent food, service was exemplary. Lovely staff and brilliant experience for our special anniversary. Thank you.
Only one word is needed - phenomenal.
My husband and I brought our son who has multiple food allergies and who is super picky to the restaurant. Since the restaurant now only offer prix fix menu, which we were not aware of, we were not able to order a la cart for our son. The chef graciously prepared a separate dish for my son with food that he is able to eat, and it was beautifully prepared as if it was one of the prix fix course! While we were a little embarrassed to be so picky with what our son could eat, it really showed the superb skills of the chef and his creativity! Wow! We were super impressed!
Great special occasion restaurant. I prefer the chef's full tasting menu (10+ courses). Wonderful food, new menus every night. Pricey but worth it!
