I ordered the pre-fix option. The cheese plate was outstanding as was the French Onion soup The Salmon was also good , but nott as outstanding as the cheese plate. My wife order4ed the special whole snapper but that was not good.
My only complaint was lack of air conditioning. This same group was there in June. We sat in the bar, NO air conditioning. Still little to no air conditioning. None in the bar. We had to ask our waiter several times for bread. He was really good. Took good care of us.
The menu was updated. We enjoyed the tile fish. My hubbie had to get his duck cooked a bit more but then he enjoyed it. The salads are delicious. Our server was effecient and friendly.
Good ambiance and an absolutely wonderful waiter. Problem was with the quality of the fish which was not fresh.
The food was outstanding, the service was excellent. Would highly recommend going to check them out
Excellent lunch with Patrick as my server. We talked business and he knew it. French press was delicious. We will be back soon
As always, a great dining experience!
They have the best salmon in town. Always fresh and a great sauce.
Food was excellent! I wanted to treat my parents and they knocked it out of the park! Their new favorite restaurant when they come to town.
This was my third lunch at A la Provence in 10 days! It is simply the best place to go in Tallahassee if you want a quiet and unhurried lunch with friends. The food is great too! My favorite is the orange and beet salad, but they always have a few creative specials (especially soups and seafood) to tempt me.
A staple of Tallahassee. Very consistent with food and service. Waitress was outstanding with patience and tried to please some special requests from guests. They found some red wines that were not on the regular wine list, so if you don't see what you are looking for, ask. On the down side, I had ordered the special fish dish and they run out by the time we got our order in, so I was given an alternative dish of 3 large sea scallops over risotto, which was fine. At least you know the food is fresh.
Bill and staff do it again. Great business meal to which my out of town guest “ I’m coming back here again”!
The air conditioning is broken, too expensive for the quality of the food.
Pleasant quiet atmosphere with excellent food and service.
Service was excellent. Food was very good, menu was quite ordinary. I expected more interesting choices and presentation.
Food and service fantastic as usual!
This was our first time and if we could afford it, we would be regulars. Price-wise, it is in the same vicinity as Food Glorious Food and Sage. However, I think the food at A La Provence was superior to either of the other two. It didn't seem to attract the same sort of crowds as the other two, but that might have been location. The only detraction is that the outside dining is not an attractive alternative because of restaurant location.
There were 16 women for lunch. Ashley did a great job. I had the chicken piccata which was great. The chef does like salt much more than I do.
The quiche, salmon and scallops were also delicious.
Good place. Too bad they will have to move soon due to Market Square renovations
Our waiter was also the AC repairman; we had a long wait just for drink order and it was hot as the AC was not working. The interior needs renovation and the food needs improvement and the champagne was warm....
Bill and team have done it again. Great food for a key business lunch we had last week. People are missing out of they do not give this place a try!
Although we didn't have anything in particular to celebrate, it was graduation weekend. Even with a full book and a limited menu, the restaurant's service and food was on point. There were five of us, so we were able to try many of the menu items and there wasn't a dud in the bunch. Three of us had the filet, which was a generous portion cooked to perfection. The other two had fish, salmon and halibut (I think), again beautifully presented, a large portion of fish and cooked beautifully. Crab cake appetizer was one of the best I've ever tried. My fried eggplant topped with herbed cheese was excellent. With drinks, it's on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for a special occasion.
The food was a tiny bit stop to come out but I’m sure that was only because it was graduation weekend. Other than that everything was amazing ! Thank you so much
The hostess and wait staff were nice, but the food was a disappointment especially considering the price. The service was a little slow and the waiter had to be reminded several times on items that he forgot. It was a happy celebration for us, but the quality of the food was sub-par.
Went here for my graduation dinner had an 8 o’clock reservation. Arrived st 8 did not get seated till 815 at a half set table and was not brought water nor menus. Then sat at the table for 15 minutes before a waitress arrived to take our order even though we were never handed menus. Finally tracked someone down for water and menus that took another ten minutes. Ordered our food and drinks expecting that all would be well from there. Asked for a bread basket was not brought for thirty minutes and only after I got up and went up to the kitchen in the back and spoke to the bus boy. The bus boy then became a pseudo waiter for us checking in the kitchen and making sure we had everything we needed while we barely saw our waitress. All in all the service was so abysmal that it was laughable. I will never go there again nor recommend seeing as they were unapologetic about the fact that simple expectations of waitresses and waiters could not be filled. The food was alright but defiantly not worth spending 2 1/2 hours at a restaurant.
Always a wonderful place to dine
Excellent service, the great food was well prepared, and tasted great.
The food was wonderful but the service made it special.
Everything was phenomenal. Our server Kurt was knowledgeable, provided excellent service, and really made the evening an exceptional one!
What a surprising find in Tallahassee FL! This restaurant was near the Little English Residence in Tallahassee, where we were staying. The ambience isn't promising -- a hard to find spot in a strip mall -- but oh, what a wonderful meal! Truly could have been in Provence. I started with the special soup of the evening, made with lamb and orzo and just the right amount of spice. Then the golden tilefish, which was fabulous. My wife had the chicken Normandy, with an authentic cream sauce. The owner was very gracious, the wine was generously poured, and the other patrons (most of the regulars) couldn't have been friendlier or praised the place more. We loved it and hope to visit again soon.
Excellent restaurant!! We are regulars. Food is amazing, service is impeccable, and atmosphere is beautiful! Always! They never miss a beat. We love this place!! We were celebrating my husbands birthday on our last visit. The owner sent over a complimentary bottle of champagne! Wonderful experience! You won’t be disappointed!
Food was amazing. Location is in a strip mall or sorts , but they do try to give it some personality.
Great atmosphere, but the food was served a little cold. Tasted great!
The food was AMAZING!! The service was also AMAZING!! Will be back that’s for sure.
The food was very good. Best steam in Tallahassee. Ambiance is lacking. Seems as though every time we fine here there are large party's in either dining room that are very very loud.
Excellent food excellent service, have always loved the restaurant!
