From the appetizers to the desserts every bite was OMG the best ever eaten.
Always enjoy a booth in the bar area. Andy is the best bartender, HH is our favorite.
It was our first visit to 801 Chophouse in Leawood. We loved it and plan to go back. Food was excellent and the service was even better. Our server was very knowledgeable about wine and it is served at cellar temperature.
One of the very times ever at ANY steakhouse that our steak (Prime Rib) was cooked to perfection. Amazing food, and an amazing experience for our anniversary.
Only slight issue, but no biggie, was our server was a bit "sharp" in her delivery. A little cold, although we judged that as her natural demeanor rather than aimed at us.
Overall, a wonderful anniversary evening at 801!
Expensive but the food and quality was good. Our Waiter Chiko was awesome.
We go to 801 Chophouse a few times a year. It is our favorite restaurant. Our food is always amazing and the service is impeccable. We were seated in the bar this time and it was a little louder than the quiet intimate seating we usually have. We definitely pay more for our meal than we usually do, but it is absolutely worth every cent! We highly recommend it!
The Lobster bite appetizer was fantastic and the Prime rib was the best I've ever had.
We had a lovely dinner with our family. Service was impeccable and food was fantastic!!
Excellent from every aspect. We go there often, and will always recommend 801. We look forward to our next visit!
Service was very slow. The food wasn’t up to previous visits.
Though 801 Chophouse is a little overpriced, we still choose this restaurant for a special occasion. This visit we celebrated my husband’s Birthday and the restaurant must have known from his Open Table profile when we made the reservation. They surprised us with a beautifully decorated table with elegant Birthday table decorations, an individual Birthday cake and showed us special treatment with fantastic service! Details details! They spent a lot fo time and attention to making sure our night was very special! And the food is always amazing! My husband had the filet and I always have the Lobster tail. And the cheddar hash browns are excellent!!! We love 801 Grand Chophouse!! Amazing experience!!
Steak was not very good kind of tough and some what charred. For the price not a good value. Fairly loud for what i thought would be quite intimate dinner with my wife. Better value at texas roadhouse. Waitress and service was very good though.
Wow! Spectacular fine-dining experience! Three weeks ago, our family was observing a special occasion and reserved a table for four—online—at the Leawood location. We made note of the event that precipitated our reservation and requested a quiet table. The maître d’ escorted us to a wonderful table, easily considered “prime real estate” in the restaurant.
Our server, Rob, was very professional, pleasant and helpful. He was attentive to our needs, yet allowed us plenty of “space” to enjoy our time together.
The food was prepared to perfection. We enjoyed, and would recommend, the following menu items: Roast Prime Rib, Kansas City Strip Steak and Filet Mignon—all cooked to perfection. 801 serves top quality prime beef and, as such, it commands a higher price point than most steakhouses. Inasmuch as we raise cattle and have champion meat judgers in our family, we appreciate quality beef.
In addition, we each had the Roasted Grape Salad—excellent! The sides we selected included: Grilled Brocollini (with a bit of peppery kick!), Asparagus, and Mushroom Pan Roast—all were delicious. The à la carte sides are quite large, so we easily served our party of four by sharing three sides. Toss in the complementary bread and we had little room for dessert. Nevertheless, two in our party opted for the Seasonal Sorbet—three scoops of sorbet in three berry flavors—all were delicious. We each enjoyed a round of coffee—some decaf and others regular, and both were amazingly good. As our celebratory event was concluding, our waiter presented our daughter with a rose and a complimentary dessert “to go.” It was so kind of the management to bless her in that way, and “the icing on the cake” for a beautiful, memorable evening.
Had a 5 star experience. Would recommend for any special occasion.
I chose the scallops (I know, strange for a steak house). They were amazing. I sat at the wonderful bar and had a great conversation with the bartender.
801 Chophouse in Leawood has a welcoming environment with great service. Our waitress Anna was friendly, punctually, and understanding to our needs. When we arrived I was not expecting to have "Birthday confetti on the table and a Menu Happy Birthday to my husband." That made the night even more enjoyable. The Manager Rob Unverferth made our night by his light conservation, laughs, and offered a tour of the facility. I would highly recommended this Location for we are frequent visitors of the Power and Light District ChopHouse restaurant.
Our meal arrived in a timely manner, the food was suburb, and the dessert was worth it.
Go & Have a GREAT time!!
enjoyed by all of us - drinks and food were very good
10/10. Excellent service and food. Highly recommend.
great steaks, hash browns were cooked perfectly, service was attentive and friendly
Waitress was great and service and food great! Thank you!
Our server Dawn was amazing and took wonderful care of us. The quality and preparation of the food very good. It all made for a great evening out.
The complimentary birthday desert was a very nice gesture at the end of our meal.
The food was absolutely amazing! Worth every penny. The staff was wonderful as well! We cannot wait to go back.
Food was amazing and the service was exceptional!
Love this place! Spent the evening for our anniversary and they treated us over the top! Decorations on the table and a “Happy Anniversary” menu that we were able to take home. A wonderful experience!
Great birthday celebration for my daughter. Sunday Supper is awesome!
Great filets!! Food is always great and the service even better!! Can’t go wrong at the Chophouse!
Soup came out cold but they apologized and gave me free dessert. Steak was tender juicy and delicious. I’ll go back
From the first glass of pinot, to the lobster bites, to the amazing steaks, to the coffee, every single part of this evening was exactly as hoped. We brought a customer from out of town and wanted to show off a real KC steak experience. The service was outstanding, the diners were kept very separate (in light of COVID), and overall I can't say enough positive things. Oh - try the hash browns with cheddar - you will be glad you did. Enjoy!
Foods is always delicious. When we want a good steak, 801 is the only place we’ll go to. Service is always impeccable! The servers always remember us and they are so nice!
We had KC Strips, shrimp cocktail, and caesar salad. The steaks were cooked a perfect medium. Shrimp cocktail was great. Salad was not that great. Try something else. Waiter was very nice and spent just the right amount of time with us.
Nice place, food was great, portions slightly on the small size.
We enjoyed an absolutely wonderful Anniversary dinner! Service was top notch, and the steaks were the best! Wife ordered the Filet and I ordered the Ribeye. Both were good but the Beef Filet was our favorite. Don’t leave without trying the Apple pie desert. 😁
Always excellent food and service! The staff does great job of taking care their customers.
Rosalena was great
Service was good. The waitress had a fun personality. Could have returned more to refill my moms tea.
I mentioned it was a birthday and there was no recognition.
Food was excellent, never disappointed.
We will be back!
Great food and service! Know going in you will spend at least $150/person.
This was my 5th time dining at 801. The service was about as bad as it gets. After we finished our salad course we waited a solid 30+ min for the main portion. Absolutely brutal. Our server kept coming by and apologizing. When the meal finally came the Chef brought it out as a nod to recognizing the wait was unacceptable. My wife and I split a lobster and a filet which had been split in the kitchen. The meals had obviously been sitting in the window for a while due to the color and the fact that the $10 truffle butter I paid for never melted on the overpriced, ice cold steak. The square of butter just sat on top like a block of cheese. For the “executive chef” to bring out a split steak in that condition tells you everything you need to know. Zero pride in the preparation or customer satisfaction. I was so furious, hungry and over the experience I didn’t even say anything...I just wanted to get the hell out of the building. This will be the last time I eat at 801. To not even acknowledge how bad the experience was and flop down $300+ bill was the last straw for me..
