Just what you hope for in Omaha....a classic steakhouse with that vintage feel and INCREDIBLE steak
The server was verbose but food fantastic!
It was our first time here and would most definitely come back! Great food and awesome service!
The food, service and ambiance are the best!!! My favorite restaurant in Omaha!!!!
As always the 801 Chophouse delivers ! It’s consistently quality food and service EVERY time . It’s our go to place for celebrations or for just a great meal with an excellent dining experience.
Food and Service was excellent and the staff was very good.
Expected food to be far better than it was. We have enjoyed better steaks at restaurants near home in Ohio and at a better value. Lovely ambience. Attentive service, but lacking warmth.
Best prime rib I’ve ever had - hands down!!!! the whole meal was so fabulous there are no words. Appetizers, drinks, sides and dessert. Right up there with that prime rib !!!! GO!
We were there for my wife’s birthday.
Absolutely wonderful from the greeting at the front door and the wait staff the valet and the food was delicious.!!!! Love love this place and I will be back
One of my top 3 in the US!
Went to 801 before a show at the Orpheum. Highly recommend. Best steaks in Omaha. Best service, best sides. Valet parking. They have the entire package.
Loved what they did to help celebrate a special occasion. Made it that much more enjoyable!
Showing off my favorite steakhouse during a coworker’s 1st visit to Omaha. He was very pleased with the food and experience. Love this place!
Amazing food and ambiance
The ambiance felt like I was smack dab in the middle of 1980's Wall Street. Opulent and fun, but also kind of old and dated. Our server was either having a bad night or was new or something. He was nice, but not very efficient. Forgot a few things we ordered and when our main dishes were delivered, we sat there without silverware for a while until a different server noticed us sitting there, staring at our dinners. Halfway through our meal, someone else took over (along with one of the managers). We didn't ask for this, nor was this switch communicated to us. Overall, I thought the food was sub-par. Duck fat potatoes were mostly under-cooked, the creamed spinach came out a little too cold to be enjoyable, the asparagus was fine, but definitely not worth what we paid. My steak came out super charred and bitter on the outside and way overcooked. I asked for medium and got something much closer to well done. I managed to choke about half of it down. I wasn't about to ask for a replacement after how long we waited in the first place. As for the good: My dining companion's steak was cooked well and was very delicious. I am happy she shared some of it with me. The bread and lobster corn chowder were both out of this world good. But, when this is the best thing I can say about a steak dinner that was over $100 per person (without any booze), something is really wrong. Sadly, as a couple with plenty of disposable income who like to dine out, we will probably not be coming back anytime soon.
The hostess, Laura, was amazing and made the night extra special for my wife and I. We will be back.
Wonderful meal, waiter was amazing! Will definitely return.
The food was amazing! My husband and I will definitely be coming back!
Loved the personal touches as we celebrated our anniversary! Lloyd won our loyalty.
The food was incredible. The service was top notch. I would definitely go back.
Favorite restaurant in Nebraska
Service and food were excellent! Always a great place to celebrate a special occasion
Bill was amazing. Love a server who is kind even to my kids in a nice restaurant!
Excellent as always!
We came earlier than our reservation to get a drink at the bar. We love trying special cocktails and we’re impressed with the drink menu. They easily transferred our ticket to our table for dinner. We were welcomed with a birthday card and warm greetings. Our service was fabulous and she recommended many things and helped us narrow down our orders. I appreciate that sure let us know that the salads are fairly large so we could split it if we wanted to. Our steaks were cooked perfectly (as you would expect at a steakhouse.) We did not plan on staying for dessert but we were talked into the peach cobbler. We would come back for the service and the food. Thank you!
Love the ambiance here, very "old school" steakhouse- dark wood, nice lighting, and great Omaha stockyard references. The last time we were here we were in the large private dining room which was lovely, and this time I noticed several smaller rooms as well...very nice. The main dining room however was full and quite noisy on Saturday night when we arrived at 6:45. Interesting cocktails and very good food across the board, with my son's prime rib the outstanding dish at the table-very tender and delicious! Sides including creamed spinach, corn and scalloped potatoes did not disappoint. I had the scallop special and it was also very good, and served with a delicate pea shoot, jalapeno salad, and fresh raspberries. We enjoyed the made-to-order chocolate souffle with 3 sauce options, and we were given a "gift" as we were celebrating our anniversary. A very nice evening.
Love Rick at the bar! We have a great time every time we go to the Chophouse. Thanks for a great experience.
A very unique and special restaurant, feature items that are not available just anywhere. We were treated very well.
It was great food. And amazing service . We’ll be back for my daughters birthday on October 4th.
This was the best steak I have ever had. All the food was fantastic.
The restaurant uses WAY too much salt on its meats - comes close to ruining otherwise delicious steaks.
We had a great experience. Our food was amazing and our server was very knowledgeable. We were disappointed they dropped the ball on our anniversary menus and other special perks. However they have since apologized.
in the past we have bragged about the chop house - but now twice we have had chewy tough steaks - our ribeyes were tough and our hard - Brussels sprouts were woody or undercooked - couldn't eat them . Out shrimp cocktail was good - as always and drinks good - mac w/ lobster great. not sure I would recommend the chop house over other steak houses now. Thanks, Lois
Waygu beef filet worth every penny!
I chose this restaurant coz i thought it would be fancy...nice food...but the food was not good...not worth of the money you spent on it...i looked at other guests and its not just me who didnt finish their food...i wont eat there again...service was not that good also...
Nice crowd, great food ( as always) and our server was outstanding. It was a special anniversary night for us and could not have gone better. Thanks to the 801 team!
Nice venue service was ok nothing really stood out probably had to do with our dress. We were on vacation so not dressed up at all and I think that effected how we were treated.
Now to the food some of it was good and some of it was average. Had the shrimp with mashed potatoes for an appetizer and it was very good. Steaks were cooked correctly but not a whole lot of flavor and the blue cheesed mashed and baked potatos were just average. The chocolate souffle was bland but the lemon cake was good. I had a double Hendricks and sprite which was $23.00a way over priced.
All in all our meal for the price was not a good value. At around 250.00 for dinner I expect to be wowed a little and have paid less for far better food. The venue and service was not worth the extra paid in my opinion.
Our waitress wasn't the friendliness person in the world but she was ok. However the food is always top notch and I love the fact we can bring our own wine for only 25.00 charge. The lamb chops medium rare with a sprinkle of salt is heaven.
Nice atmosphere, great service, great food, on the pricey side, but nice for a special occasion. Would highly recommend!
