Excellent service...patient and attentive! Thanks
I am in Tampa at least once a year and annually 717 gets a little worse, but this time the fall was greater. We went on a Monday night. The roof was leaking and a few buckets were catching water and we (table for four) were seated right next to one of the buckets. The waitress was inattentive. At the end of the meal, we were alerted the credit card machine was down. Our request for individualized checks then was not understood. There was no graciousness to offer a drink or dessert as a counter to what had to be clearly a terrible experience. I have now given up on this restaurant.
The food was good, but service was extremely slow.
The Valentine's day four-course menu was fixed at $70 per person a great value for this price. The service was excellent the option on the 4 course menu was fantastic
The cut of the ribeye steak could be much better. It was quite tough and chewy even though medium rare. And could have more seasoning. It was very bland. All the other food was delicious. The service was good with good timing...just not as good as the first time I went.
this has been a favorite restaurant of mine for a long time but the food quality went down a number of years ago. But it is well back to it's quality food. We had lunch and there is only a dinner menu so a little pricey for a lunch but good prices for a dinner.
The kale and brussel sprout salad is devine. The chicken egg rolls are exceptional. We also thoroughly enjoyed the brussel sprout appetizer. Haven’t had a bad thing here yet. Will return.
It was a little crowded for a Thursday night. We had reservations and were quickly seated. Apparently there was a school function that night. Service was great
Valentine early dinner. Did t want the Pri fix
over all I felt like to was stuffed into the back room and no lit candles or ambiance like on other tables. Calamari was over cooked and over all the food was not well thought out and cooked to fast without love so to speak.
We sat there on the Feb 13th for like 30 minutes after ordering appetizers without any bread being brought to my table and my wife and I were sitting there just staring at each other. The waitress never even offered to refill out drinks and I went without a drink 1/2 way through my meal. When I walked into your restaurant I made reservations ahead of time and the host stated to me our table is not ready and that she was not expecting to be so busy. I said to her isn't the point to reservations is that you plan accordingly?
Everything was great except they need some RED Wine glasses to serve red wine in!!!
Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. Service was great. We will be back.
Great dinner spot. Food is amazing and it's right in the heart of South Howard.
Wow. The food and service was explanatory. I will be recommending 717 to my friends. I had the salmon and highly recommend.
A lovely and relaxing Sunday dinner out, starting with 717’s wonderful and creative signature pesto-filled ciabatta w marinara dipping sauce + parmesan spread. Crab bisque and red pepper bisque followed, both excellent. My Szechuan Seared Tuna entrée was melt-in-your-mouth tender and very flavorful, served atop piquantly seasoned vermicelli w pickled vegies, all drizzled with garlic aioli. Spouse’s Turkey Sandwich was declared ‘delicious’. The chic décor, the visible street scene, Tina W, our friendly and accommodating server, and our bottle of chilled Pinot Grigio all added to a delightful experience.
Excellent macademian chicken, too bad the grilled wedge salad is no longer on the menu, it was excellent and set the restaurant apart from your average restaurant
Great food and reasonable prices. A bit noisy though.
Lots of variety on the menu, great service, above average food. Won’t be the meal you remember on your death bed but it’s totally fine
Took a friend there before the hockey game. A great experience with good food and fine, prompt service.
Used to be great. Unfortunately it has gone down hill.
Staff at 777 always "at your service". Additionally they are finally interested in the dining outcome/ experience.
Awesome staff, great restaurant for dinning , wine and a totally enjoyable evening!
Seater allowed our group to sit in a quieter area of the restaurant which was great so we could visit easier!
We love 717South...and will be returning soon! Thanks for everything!
My husband and I rarely get to go out - so I did a lot of looking around at different restaurants and 717 seemed to have some great reviews. We got there right at 7:15 for our reservation on a Friday night - and the place was pretty quiet - which immediately concerned us. We expected it to be pretty lively - it definitely wasn't. We were seated and then waited quite some time for someone to come over and greet us. A girl came to ask our drinks but never introduced herself so we assumed she was a server assistant or busser - but come to find out she would be our server and we never found out her name. We ordered the brussel sprouts as an app - and they took 35 mins to appear. They were delicious - but while we waited for the app and then figured out our server really wasn't going to pay much mind to us - we contemplated just leaving and walking in somewhere. The waitress wasn't mean or rude - but she literally said 15 words to us the entire meal and never checked in.
My husband felt bad leaving since we had already ordered our entrees - so we stayed. He got the filet and I had the sea bass - and they were good. Not amazing - but good. The seabass was TINY - and oddly breaded - which almost seems like a crime to do to such a yummy fish. 100% overpriced at $40 for a tiny piece of fish with some veggies and grits. That's when we decided we would skip dessert and head somewhere else.
I think if the service would have been better - we would have liked 717 because as i mentioned - the food was pretty good. But the wait times and the lack of customer service from our waitress really ruined the experience.
A Date Night with my wife: Delightful. We had the farfalle with sausage and a filet, both prepared to perfection, with a delightful Groth Sauvignon Blanc to begin, and even even more delightful Brunello with our entrees. Our waitress was attentive, helpful, but not too much. We had a delightful conversation, and promised ourselves to come back again soon.
I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken salad croissant, fresh and tasty. I’m hesitant to order a crab bisque because I have been disappointed at other places but the crab bisque here at 717 South was excellent. I would go again just for that alone.
It was an off night for 717 as it was the gasparilla. The crowd was relative to the event so a bit more rambunctious than usual. They ran out of the rice that came with my Asian roast. I usually have a much better experience. Sad to hear that Josh left too.
Food is always delicious, service is good, and atmosphere is enjoyable
I’ve been wanting to dine at this restaurant for some time and I was sadly disappointed. The food wasn’t very good-appetizer or dinner. There’s wasn’t anything special about the place except we did have good service from our waiter. Just sad it didn’t turn out better.
I have gone to 717 South two times and I will definitely be back again. The food is really good and it is a nice atmosphere.
Most of the salads were all screwed up And had to be remade . Since many had that for dinner it was very uncomfortable when some had their food and others did not .other than a quick apology that the person who made them was new we never really heard from anyone again partly because the waiter had too many tables
Been there many times and always loved the restaurant
Will probably think twice before going back
Food was delicious and staff was very helpful in keeping to our time schedule as we were attending a show and needed to be out in timely manner. Quick yet still polite and professional.
Anthony the server was absolutely incredible the food was fantastic and we will go again often
Food was great, but very noisy atmosphere. Service great as always.
My friend had never been there. The service was awful and she made it seem like it was inconvenient to wait on us.
Been going there for years and this one was a horrible one.
Celebrated my son’s 17th birthday at 717! Great night.
717 South was a great resteraunt to celebrate my birthday at. The food and environment were amazing and the wine selections were up my alley. I would reccomend for anyone celebrating.
