Always love the variety and quality of food. Great service and atmosphere. A go to for girls night out!
622 North met my expectations overall and the service / ambiance stood out in a positive way. The food itself was good, and would be better if there were some vegan-friendly options (more vegetarian choices at a minimum). That said, I would recommend 622 to my friends and family.
Outstanding experience from the time we entered to the time we left. Daylon our server was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and his recommendations we right on the mark. Started with the cheese plate, you can’t go wrong with homemade carmelized onion goat cheese, Brie, fig spread and cherry jalapeño jam. Fresh berries. and toasted sourdough bread slices. The salmon with bread pudding and tri tip were hits as well. Try the crime brûlée to finish it off you can’t go wrong.
Every time I make a reservation I’m put at a table down stairs but I’d I walk in I’m given a booth which is just in general nicer. There were several open and I would have preferred to have or instead of the down stairs area.
The food was amazing though and our server was good.
We were out having dinner as a group. We are not regulars at this establishment; however, we were going out to be social and have cocktails. I had planned on dropping some coin on drinks and food. The food was good; however, I think our server had a table of regulars next to us. The minute they sat down, we might as well have gotten our food to go. It was just a disappointment because I was hoping for a festive time. However, I think it was just a one-off. I will go again and would recommend to others.
We sat in the wine bar and Ray was amazing! Ray always takes great care of us!!
Th;e ambiance and quiet style of 622 is wonderful, the perfect place to celebrate any event or to just have a relaxing meal. We were celebrating our anniversary and enjoyed a perfect meal with very good wine. The wine is one of the real plusses here, and the food is exquisite, with the presentation being perfect every time. The chef uses vegetables I never see elsewhere, and her combinations are surprising and exciting, and absolutely delicious. this is my favorite restaurant in our area.
Delicious food. Good service. One of a kind, tasty cocktails. We enjoyed ourselves at 622 North.
Cold room and cold food.
Delicious cocktails, appetizers and entrees. I had the Empericism cocktail, Brussels spouts appetizer and duck breast entree. All were fantastic and my wife enjoyed her cocktail and meal as well. Great ambiance and holiday declarations. We’ll go back!
We go to 622 North for special occasions like this one for a birthday. The service in the Wine Bar area is always good, especially if Ray is on duty. He is attentive but not overly so and knows a great deal about wines. The food comes in large portions and is well-prepared. If a substitution is requested, it has never been an issue with the kitchen staff. While the ambience can be loud, it is due to large groups just having a good time. We are grateful 622 North is so close to our home; we can walk there! We hope it stays in Blacksburg for a long time.
Have dined at 622 North several times with business associates or customers. Unique atmosphere in an old house, but tastefully done. The place was packed when we arrived. Other restaurants in Blacksburg are closed Monday so their business reaps the benefits. Monday is also 1/2 priced wine night on a nice selection of wines from around the world. The menu is small but sufficient for meat, game and vegetable lovers. Service is good, better with certain waiters. Nothing frosts me more that wait staff that thinks they know more about food and wine than you do. Not at 622 North. Cozy enough for a nice dinner for two or a business dinner for six without worrying about others.
As always, the Wine Bar and the special attention that Ray Lawrence (sommelier) gives every guest makes them feel like the most important customer 622 North has. It makes the food taste even better. And, her remembers wine preferences every time, pairing a wine that each patron will enjoy with the food.
Second time dining here and would highly recommend
My daughter and I enjoyed a nice meal here after a 10-hour car ride returning to campus from Thanksgiving break. The place was pretty much empty because most students hadn’t returned yet, which was good for us because we were starving and got seated immediately. We started with a couple of cocktails and the salmon cakes appetizer which was excellent- a creative and very tasty treat that took the edge off our insatiable hunger. I ordered the Duck Breast for my main while my daughter went with the Classic Burger. The Duck was done right, meaning it was cooked medium, and placed atop a mound of mashed parsnips and lightly sauced with some kind of yummy glaze and shredded carrots. I devoured it. My daughter seemed to enjoy her burger as evident by its sudden disappearance. I snagged a few fries from her plate and was happy to discover that they too were cooked perfect- crispy on the outside and soft inside. Our appetite satisfied, we passed on dessert. Overall an enjoyable meal.
Dining at 622 North is always a great experience...consistently great food, wine and service!
love the food and beverage options... always a great dining experience
The food here is always consistently good. We usually get the charcuterie board as an appetizer; delicious with a generous amount of ingredients. Great selection of beer, wine and beverages. The service here is very good. Warm, comfortable atmosphere.
Had 5:00 reservations, seated right away but no one acknowledged or greeted us for at least 10 minutes and we were the only ones in the restaurant.
Food was just ok, mostly underwhelming. Not good when you order a filet mignon. It was very undercooked. I asked for medium and came out rare.
Definitely would not go back.
Always a great dining experience here!
Just average. Same food you find everywhere. Price not worth the food/drink. Was hoping for a higher level of dining but these mountain towns (I live in a very small local one too) just can’t/won’t take a chance. I don’t blame them. Gotta drive a couple hours to Roanoke to find the next level for better than average.
WE DINED WITH FRIENDS WHO INTRODUCED US TO 622 NORTH.
SERVICE VERY GOOD!
The food was fantastic!
We were 5 friends who had not been together for awhile so we were very chatty. The waiter was very patient with us and very attentive. We all enjoyed our food. We didn't feel rushed either.
Always has great food. The place need to be renovated - shows old and warn
It’s always busy so one could assume they can afford to put some money in the place.
Service was excellent, food was wonderful, will always make this a regular stop when visiting Blacksburg.
Appetizers were very good, but the main courses were not what I would expect from this kind of restaurant- disappointing
One of my favorite restaurants. The seafood special was good. A bit pricey but good. Wines always good.
This was our 2nd visit to 622 North. We were attending a performance at the nearby Moss Center after dinner. Once again, the service was exceptional. Zach was knowledgeable and assisted us in making selections and managing our time. We started with the fried green tomatoes, a craft beer, and a glass of the outstanding featured red wine, Terre Dei Savola's Barole, a fabulous dry wine. 622 has an interesting wine list that includes unique international selections that I would not ordinarily order. The fried green tomatoes were tasty but greasy. Our entrees were selected with Zach's guidance--Tri-Tip and Salmon. Both were very good with nice seasoning and complemented by the sides. The entrees were not as hot I like. We had time and enjoyed desserts--tiramisu and a chocolate something. The tiramisu was more like a pastry just as Zach described. As a result, it was somewhat dry. The chocolate something was good. 622 is conveniently located close to VT and the Moss. It's a good value. So far, the food is reliably good and the menu has diverse selections. The wine list and service are exceptional.
Excellent food, as always. Service was somewhat slow/erratic this visit.
We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. The wine selection was very good. My husband enjoyed his duck dinner. I had a salad and it was less that what I would have wanted. It only had iceberg lettuce which was disappointing. I would not order it again.
Really enjoyed it. Quiet, food was very good.
Food was good but the inflexibility by staff to accommodate another person really ruined our special birthday celebration. I would understand if the restaurant was full but there were many open tables near us including a table when had an extra person sitting at the end. For a restaurant which is aiming for fine dining, adjusting for requests such as this is part of the package. We will definitely take our business to other locally owned restaurants instead in the future.
The service here was excellent. This is a nice restaurant with a very good wine and beer selection. The Cuban sandwich was ordered by 2 people at out table and it was deemed pretty good. The spicy chicken sandwich had a nice flavor but the chicken was overcooked and a bit tough. The creme brûlée for dessert was shared by all and was a nice version. The custard had good vanilla flavor and a nice sugar crust, not too brown. The server was very nice and attentive. Overall we liked the place. I would go back when in the area.
Wonderful service, delicious food and an interesting selection of both food wine and beer. A couple of details were disturbing, however: a piece of tape or plastic wrap was found in one of the entrées, and the bench seat in the booth where we were sitting was very badly ripped, in an area where it could damage clothing.
We did not end up eating because the online menu and actual menu are different. Wait staff said the online menu was three years old.
Great service, great food. A little pricey but worth it.
it was Gucci
The menu was so appealing that we couldn’t decide what entrée to order. The duck was divine, the pork was so yummy and the salmon so fresh.
