Superb location and great food. Even the “indoor” tables are effectively outdoors which makes it safer.
$85 for 2 mediocre mai tai's and 2 very average fish tacos....give me a break !!
The food was delicious, the restaurant is beautiful and the servers are very attentive. Great place for a date, you can hear the ocean right at your table and the dinning room looks directly out into the ocean.
Booked this place for a small
Intimate wedding reception. Brian by ALL MEANS WAS AMAZING!Catered to the tables non stop drinks. We booked a semi private room however seemed more like general dining as there really wasn’t any semi private anything. FOOD: ordered the coconut shrimp and pork tacos. They were amazing! Entrees we order the surf and turf, butternut ravioli and the shrimp and ny sirloin. All cooked to perfection not one complaint on the food. Only complaint was there was a female busser who kept coming to the table as soon as the food or drinks came asking to remove anything when we JUST received them. Now, this was around 830 pm when I have booked the space u til 10pm according to my contract/emails as well as the time this place closed. Which we then felt rushed with the non stop coming over to the table.
We love the view and the service. The food is fine but not special, I think the lunch menu could use few more items. The fish and chips were very good, the hamburger was just OK. Our waiter was excellent.
The terrace seating right by the water is why we drive over from Haiku.
Honesty, I was very disappointed with the restaurant. The view was beautiful but that’s the only reason I would go there. I thought the food was underwhelming and pricey.
There was also an incident while we were there for lunch with what seemed to be a disgruntled ex-employee that was screaming at the staff and then addressed me and my family very upset. I understand it’s not in their control but none of the staff came to our table during the incident. It made for a very bad customer experience made worse by the fact that the manager didn’t even come to our table (we were the only ones there at the time) to see how we were doing. Even when I addressed it with the manager on the way out, he said nothing at all. Not even our server. I was long forward to a nice family lunch but I honestly didn’t enjoy much except for the view.
It was nice to be back in Maui. 5 Palms never disappoints. It’s a magical place.
Just a great place
Wennt for brunch. Food and service was great. Location is unique and incomparable.
The first 10 minutes of the experience was fine the rest was NOT. For drinks me & my friend both order mules (we assume you can’t screw those up, we make them constantly & don’t bartend) yet we’re disgusted with them. Very sour & bitter, not enjoyable in the slightest. Our waiter, Brian, was busy running around of course so we just deal with it & don’t want to cause issues. We’re locals, come to this restaurant often & know the menu. We were not made aware of the limited menu for NYE. They had 1 vegetarian option, a small puff pastry app. with a lil bit of cream sauce & some mushrooms on it -$20. My friend is a vegan & due to them not having a single vegan option on this tiny menu, Brian goes to ask the chef if he can make something for us. We should’ve just left.. They give us a scoop of black and white rice with salty watery vegetables on top, this dish, also terrible quality. Then the server, Brian, needs to be waved down for our bill so we could leave. The bill was $135 for 4 drinks and two “meals”. Brian, charged us $50+ for the vegan “meal” punching it in as the gnocchi & prawns?! We assume this is a mistake Brian will fix later. To make it better, there isn’t a local discount on Holidays. We set down the checkbook & Brian snatches it right away. Oh, now he moves fast! We get up, begin to leave & Brian jumps us. He is aggressive & demanding more money because the checkbook had $130 in it (we thought we had left enough for the whole bill (even the meal we didn’t order) plus tip) we tell him this & Brian doesn’t offer to fix the bill issue, he’d have to have a soul to do that. I grab out more money for this parasite, meanwhile he’s yelling at us in the middle of the restaurant. Basically about to fight us! & even yells at us that he hopes one of us dies!? I’m not kidding, that man is not okay. The worst dining experience in history. 5 palms used to be nice. If only we left when just the drinks were bad, before we were robbed & assaulted by Brian. 😭
This restaurant might have the best views on the island. You look straight out over keawakapu beach. The breeze is lovely. Unfortunately, the food and service leave quite a bit to be desired. Food was cold and bad. But my beer was cold, and I recommend coming for the happy hour. Sushi is probably your best bet — because the cooking doesn’t get in the way.
Right on the water, great sunset. Food was good, recommend the catch of the day with the curry, very tasty. A little pricey but I understand they have a great happy hour deal that is probably with checking out.
This was a great place to get a nice quality breakfast. Peaceful and right by the water.
Mediocre food - good cocktails
Needs new management. Great view as always. Mediocre food. Inattentive service focused on turning tables rather than pleasing customers. poor adherence to COVID protocols. Tables too close together, distancing not enforced, server pulled down her mask repeatedly to speak to us, manager even came by and insisted on getting right in my face to talk. Thankfully with a mask on, but please get a clue. Add to that bait and switch on their discount for hotel guests, overstating tip calculator. Ugh. A little better leadership could easily turn this into a class act.
Our waitress, the food and the atmosphere were wonderful!
Just bad all around. Overpriced nothingness
Amazing view. Perfect place for a date night dinner. Food was good, service excellent and surroundings fantastic.
Even though they were working on Christmas Day, all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our waitress went out of her way to make a lovely experience for us. The food was great as always.
Food was lovely, view was exceptional but service was terrible. Would not come back for brunch. Our past experiences for dinners and lunches were excellent but today was dreadful.
Hope it gets better.
Everything was amazing...the view, beautiful Christmas day! Our waiter, very friendly and so nice! The Bloody Mary--yum!!! and the food, the food was delicious! This is our 2nd time here..they did not disappoint!
This is one of our favorite spots to eat every time we visit Maui. So far, when we make reservations, we get the best seat in the house - with view to the ocean. Food is always good and staff are friendly.
I was a bit worried because the reviews were so uneven- but we had a great time. A perfect seat for two at the open windows ( great for airflow in the time of a pandemic).
We were seated right away- and our waitress was personable and responsive . ( there were critiques of service but we had a very attentive woman who had a bit of panache with her rhinestone headband!) . I had a very good kale salad- and the lamb which was perfect, flavorful and the right amount. My husband had the pasta which we customized with the addition of shrimp. It was a huge portion- not a knock your socks off dish, but very nice. Then we pigged out on the mud pie. The view is magical- the food was really good. I give it overall five stars- and still can't quite understand how there could be so much difference in people's experience at this restaurant. ( and by the way, I am pretty picky and do a lot of reviews).
We were disappointed in our dining experience this visit in comparison to previous times we have dined at 5 Palms.
Well worth going to 5 Palms for the food and the views over the ocean or looking down at the beach. Never disappointed.
We love going to 5 Palms for Sunday Brunch! The food is always great and they offer a nice variety of choices. Our Server Jai was very polite and attentive. And of course the view is unsurpassed!! Give them a try the next time you don’t want to cook!!
Another great breakfast at the 5 Palms Restaurant. Patio dining was excellent, with wonderful views and exceptional food and service. The baked pancake is huge and the crab and avocado omelette very tasty and quite filling. Bloody Mary and Mimosa were very good also.
It was very good, and reasonable.
A visit to Maui would not be complete without a meal at 5 Palms. This is a family tradition for us and it never fails to impress not just with the location and views (which are stellar), but also the quality of food and the friendly service we always seem to receive. My husband's family first stayed at Mana Kai Maui in the early 70's so they have seen many changes over the years and even though we can't afford to stay here these days ;-) we enjoy the setting. During COVID, their outdoor seating can't be beat! We also enjoyed a happy hour earlier in our visit and that was also wonderful. We will be back!
Excellent meal and view for sunset
The service was above and beyond outstanding! All of our food was fresh & delicious! Don’t forget dessert. It was fantastic!
It took almost two and a half hours to have dinner. The service was the slowest I have ever experienced and there was plenty of staff. The view was pretty but restaurant furnishing were old and upholstery needed cleaning. Food was mediocre at best and not worth the price.
Beautiful ocean front views along with good food and drinks and great service! Backed by a small jazz band to highlight the evening with some music. All in all I give it 5 stars and will be back.
Wonderful spot for breakfast. With our Open Table reservation, we didn't have a wait to be seated. The have covered patio seating as well as inside. Food was very good and service was quick.
Wonderful meal out on the grass with a
Beautiful sunset view tonight. Leighla our server was attentive and helpful with theme of choices and very friendly❣️a wonderful meal
Beautiful water side setting. Celebrating my 85th birthday but lovely at any age. Food was wonderful.
Overpriced and waited over an hour for our food. Locals beware it’s an official tourist trap again.
Went those celebrate our son’s birthday. Notes it when I made the reservation. Have the girl our name who seated us. Not sure if she checked us off the reservation list. Aside from that everything was terrific. Our waiter was friendly and efficient.
We had coconut shrimp, caesar salad m, and another salad for our apps. All fresh and flavorful.
Entrees were tuna poke, fish sandwich, and curry vegetable. All tasty and well presented. Will be back on our next visit!
Thanks to all
Setting was beautiful food was just fair
