The mai tai was among the worst I've ever had. It didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it and when I requested that it be remade, it came back made with orange juice. Not a good drink. The food was satisfactory, although my lobster had to go back to the kitchen to be taken out of the shell. Too difficult for me to do at the able

Excellent service and view; I feel sorry for the wait staff that will have to do something else because of the dine-in aspect closing.

The view from this restaurant of the Pacific Ocean is stunning! The service was fine but we were extremely disappointed with one of the dishes. The lobster was soured and someone from the kitchen admitted that the quality of the lobster was not good as it was, coming from Maine. They really should remove it from the menu in that case. We were also disappointed that they didn't remove the item from our bill. I would not recommend this place, despite the beautiful views, unless just going for drinks at sunset.

Amazing view and have been before.
Food was great.
Service did not get a 5 only because a person was sick so short but the two ladies did a great job!

Delicious food! We had several dishes and all of them tasted phenomenal, especially dessert. We went right near sunset; the restaurant looks out over the water/beach area. The bar faces the wall, but we asked to be seated. The one thing I thought odd was a cat roaming through the restaurant/tables, but it didn't pester us at all. I would go here again.

This restaurant is right on the beach beautiful ocean/sunset views. Food is very good but I feel very expensive, you are paying for the view. Salad was good but not worth $18. Drinks were good sized & you could tell they had alcohol in them(not watered down) Service was great Tara, was very attentive & gladly answered all of our questions. The main fish meal was well cooked, looked to be a small portion but I was very full when done. Dessert was also delicous had the med pie was easily big enough for 2-4 to split.

We went for happy hour and really enjoyed it. Booked for dinner two nights later and was very disappointed with the food. Also the service was somewhat lacking particularly the greeting desk. We would stick to just happy hour in the future.

Unfortunately, our dinners came in the middle of our salads. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so we were a bit perplexed. The pork tacos were not so good!

Great view & sunset, but very touristy feel and crowded. Good happy hour and our server was helpful but the food was very average for the price in the restaurant area. Was very hot before sunset-asked our server to turn the ceiling fans on- she told us none of them work.

We were staying at the Mana Lai Maui and came here for dinner on our last night, hoping to be able to use our 20% discount from the resort. Apparently, President's Day counts as a holiday and they did not honor our discount, so we ended up spending more than we anticipated. We felt that the food was good, but somewhat over priced -- we had gone to the bar's happy hour a few days before, which is a much better value. We thought -- and this is our fault, as we did not look at the menu beforehand -- that the restaurant menu would be an extension of the bar in terms of price and food.
The service was poor given the price of the food -- our waitress seemed to forget about us and we had to make several requests for water before she came back.
The ambiance is wonderful, and that's definitely what you are paying for.

We were running a little late for our reservation so my wife called to let them know. The person told her take your time we have your table waiting for you. Once we arrived, we were seated at a great table overlooking the beach and water. Our server immediately asked if anyone wanted coffee or another beverage. They had a great breakfast and lunch menu, including plant base items that my wife was looking for. Everything was fresh and the bloody _____ (fill in name whether you wanted vodka, tequila, etc.) was excellent. I had a Bloody Maria.

We’ve been to 5 Palms a few times. What was delicious one visit was terrible another. This time it was an off day. My husband and I had gone for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. He ordered the baked pancake, and we split it. It was so good! Light and fluffy, baked just right. When our daughter and her family came to visit, we raved about the baked pancake, so we all went for breakfast the day before they left. Two people got the pancakes. Both were overdone to the point that it was hard to cut with a knife. It was dry and hard. No one could eat it.
That being said, the avocado toast was good, the Lobster BLT ok
The ocean view from the patio tables is lovely. We’ve had good dinners there, some good lunches. The service has always been great. Wish the food was more consistent.

While the ambience is wonderful, especially if you sit outside on the patio, the food is hit or miss. I had the risotto which was $46 and very disappointing. There were only two prawns on top and the rice was crunchy instead of creamy. The service was also very slow. Rather disappointing all around.

We had a wonderful time at Five Palms and loved the food. They have recently changed their menu and we were looking forward to sampling some of their previous menu items, which our waiter “Tara” was able arrange for us even if they were no longer on the menu!!! The ribs, coconut shrimp and calamari were AMAZING!!!! A part from the loud, obnoxious, rude and underdressed (tank tops/wife beater shirts, ball caps) guests sitting next to us, our evening was incredible. We were there for a friends Birthday and they had a special Bday card setup for her with all the staffs signatures and offered her a complimentary cake after dinner, which was so delicious!!! Service was excellent, food was great, ambiance was acceptable.. all in all a great place to eat some fine cuisine!!

Would have given it 5 stars but our waiter’s service and attention to us was lacking to poor.
Also it was our 30th wedding invitation and we appreciated the card but thought it might warrant something more special. Dessert?

We visit 5 Palms every year for our anniversary. It’s always a nice place to go for a special occasion. The new menu features a large selection of raw fish items, however it seems the entree selection is smaller and more limited. Our server was excellent, however I felt ignored for a long period of time, it seemed like she was serving more tables inside than she had time for. We will return next year, hopefully this was just a one off evening.
