  • "Been here several times, but first time sitting outside. Nice vinyard view, but flies can sometimes be a little bit of a problem. Service is always good here, and the food, is always good. Since I live here, I prefer sittling inside, it's very comfortable!"

  • "This place was a great suggestion and find. The ambience if the restaurant is beautiful as well as the drive. The food and service was three to three and half star. Overall a four rating."

  • "Having read the reviews in Open Table we decided to make dinner reservations at the Vineyard Rose at South Coast Winery. First it is a lovely setting surrounded by vineyards. Upon arrival we were promptly seated and served most magnificently throughout the evening. Our waiter clarified menu items, made suggestions, and was attentive without being intrusive. We began with the chowder and French Onion soup. Both were excellent. For our entrée we both ordered the prime rib. It was thick and juicy and served with a baked potato and a medley of vegetable. The Tempranillo wine was an excellent pairing for the prime rib. The bread pudding and creme brûlée were among the best we have eaten. This was truly a 5 star meal."

  • "The wait staff was amazing, and after I requested to move our group inside, it was handled quickly and pleasantly. The bananas foster pancakes were the best thing I've ever eaten. Such a beautiful restaurant as well."

  • "Prime Rib was awesome, server was excellent, what more can I say?"

  • "Spent a couple nights at south coast winery resort for some r & r ..we love it there ..wine tasting. Massages. Hanging by the pool. No driving to restaurants. Just a short walk through the vineyards. Food is really good. Service is excellent. Robert and Tina very personable. We will return"

  • "Service was fantastic at this restaurant. The wine he recommended was awesome. The catch of the day was well prepared by the Chef. The restaurant is not as romantic as I expected. They showed outdoor seating in the photos online but they don't have such a thing. There were several groups of women at other tables who were loud. But the fantastic service made up for it. The restaurant recognized our anniversary with a complimentary dessert! That was very nice!"

  • "I was disappointed that there was no outdoor seating, despite having many outdoor tables onsite, and a beautiful view. Also, on arrival, we were asked to wait, even though there were many open tables. I hate that. The server was very professional and attentive, and we really liked the meal. Nice wine list."

  • "Looking for a great place to just sit back and enjoy a wonderful dinner with a glass of the best wine under the stars? South Coast Winery is the place. Been a member for 7 years now and I've yet to be disappointed."

  • "We have eaten here many times, usually either before or after a day of wine tasting at the many wineries in the Temecula Valley. The food is always good and service is very good. When taking friends there they all enjoy the experience at the Vineyard Rose."

  • "Arrived early for dinner reservation. Sat in bar for at least half hour before getting service. In the meantime at least 5-7 servers gathered at the hostess desk to visit. Food was mediocre. Perhaps breakfast is best, you can't really ruin that. Walkways are beautiful but the restaurant inside doesn't match the exterior. Our waiter was knowledgable & friendly but the food quality is beyond his control. Won't be back!"

  • "They have a problem with flies inside the restaurant."

  • "Our group enjoyed a delicious dinner but the service wasn't anything to brag about. I guess we all expected better service when dining at this restaurant. Service was on par with dining at the local chain restaurant or eatery. Our waitress wasn't very attentive. We had to ask the bus boys, who were all wonderful!, for things we need or to get our waitress for us. She also forgot our soup order. No biggie but it just added to this low service rating."

  • "Great wait staff, good entrée variety, (a menu w/just the right amount of choice w/o being over-bearing), w/the right balance of veg/carbs, portion size about right & well presented & delicious. Atmosphere great, but table size seems more focused on large groups vs couples - we were seated at a table for 8. Price - very reasonable for the quality of service and meal selected. Alcoholic beverage availability was disappointing - limited to beer & wine. Was looking forward to a bourbon Manhattan. Experienced breakfast on the outdoor deck area for 2 a.m.'s - both times very enjoyable and relaxing. Limited, but great menu, and, again, well presented, tasty, balanced and reasonably priced. Will recommend to family and friends."

  • "The first impression was of a very cold, large place. Then we noticed burn marks on our white table cloth. Our waitress was cold, rude and snippy. I never do this, but asked for the manager and we were given a delightful young man for a replacement. He did an excellent job,but it's hard to dispel a first impression."

  • "Good food, but not gourmet by UK standards. Wines are OK but very sweet compared to European and Australian wines."

  • "My husband ordered some type of Stone beer, it took a long time to get and as the waitress was putting it down at the table she realized that it was not the one that my husband ordered. She left to get the right stone beer, again we waited and she finally came back, I'm guessing because she finally remembered about it, she was talking to the table next to us. She returned again letting him know that the restaurant was out of the beer he wanted , and she order the original beer she brought but my husband didn't like that beer and asked for others. He found one that he liked and ordered that one, and again we had to wait for it. He got it right before our desert came, and he ordered his beer before our dinner came."

  • "We went for dinner while in Temecula for a wine tasting trip. We were surprised and so happy with our experience at the Vineyard Rose. The room is open and beautiful yet not noisy. There was a pianist playing on the Wednesday evening we were there. It added to our enjoyment of the evening and she played our request. The food was delicious~best meal we had in Temecula. I had the scallops and HH had a steak. Everything was perfect and the service was excellent."

  • "One of our favorite spots in the Temecula Valley. We started with the beet, Humboldt Fog, pistachio and local honey salad. As always AMAZING!!! Great starter to share. Hubby got the prime rib, it was fabulous, tender and juicy and he was able to get the rare cut just the way he likes it. I got the scallops which I requested cooked well, but were barely done and lukewarm. They tasted fresh and good, but should have sent them back for a quick sear. We had SC Chardonnay Sen Chene' (always good) and a glass of SC GSM (very good) and the SC Zinfandel (good). All in all, with the live piano music a very relaxing evening!"

  • "We stopped by for lunch while visiting Old Town. Very nice winery and food. The service was very slow even though there were not a lot a tables taken. Our waiter was very apologetic but that did not make up for our lost time. Would recommend for food and wine but make sure you have plenty of time."

  • " Place is beautiful & spacious. Our waiter was polite, friendly & attentive yet not hovering. Good professional service. The Land & Sea was OUTSTANDING! & the Garden Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli was fresh and delicious! Just on par for what the restaurant is."

  • "We had breakfast on a Saturday morning. The food is only average. The choices on the breakfast menu may lead you to believe they offer a higher lever of expertise but the breakfast burrito was only average and the fratta breakfast was small. Even the presentation was lacking. We will try lunch or dinner next time but skip breakfast!"

  • "Server was attentive, helpful and very pleasant. Food served to perfection and presentation very eye appealing. Done to perfection. We ordered the Filet Mignon and it was done just the way requested. Wine excellent and a very enjoyable evening. Will look forward to returning. "

  • "There are limit options for dining on the wine road in Temecula. The food at this restaurant is inconsistent service consistently bad. Patio dining overlooks lawn area, indoor dining needs updating. Our server was overwhelmed and asked how our food was to late to do anything about it. Ordered Margarita Pizza came with a watery liquid all over, from the tomatoes maybe? Calamari rubbery overcooked, tough. Salad is greens from the salad bags..nothing much to speak of. This as all restaurants in the Valley want to be "Napaesk" in pricing and quality but fall far short. Please S.C.W, make a serious effort to improve your service, and food quality and stop relying on your location...for a Sat the dining room was only 20%, patio about 75%."

  • "I took my wife here for our 1 year anniversary and it was perfect! The service was impeccable. Food was delicious as we had the filet and ribeye. Both delicious! Their wine was great as I had their cab, too. Then, since we were military, they gave us a free dessert and two glasses of champagne. Both were amazing! Not the cheap stuff or a scoop of ice cream, but a phenomenal pineapple cheesecake and very good champagne. We then took our wine glasses and walked around their beautiful grounds through the vineyards and all. It was wonderful! I'd highly recommend!!! Thank you for the wonderful service and support for us local military folk! We appreciate YOU!!!!!!"

  • "We went to the Vinyard Rose Restaurant at South Coast Winery to celebrate my husband's 82 birthday ~ pretty important I think! We stated this on our reservation form with Open Table, however, our server was not informed and I had to tell him of our special outing. Also, we did not receive good service. We had to wait for each and everything ordered. However, we received the bill promptly. Even though we were disappointed for that outing, we would still recommend the restaurant over all. "

  • "This is perfect for a special occasion. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and it was just perfect. We were able to take our time; our waitress was just a delight. She was attentive without rushing us. The food was delicious; the steaks were perfection and the wine list is extensive. The restaurant was also spread out so you did not feel that anyone else was around. We have also enjoyed a more casual lunch here while wine tasting the local wines. We look forward to going back soon. "

  • "The ambiance was very nice. However, the service was so quick, that we did not really enjoy our meal. I had not even taken a sip of my wine and my steak dinner came out. We were also served appetizers and salads within 5 minutes of ordering--I know this because I only got up from the table to wash my hands after placing the order, and when I came back, the food was there. I understand they might be under pressure to serve customers quickly. But when food comes out that quickly at a nice restaurant, it leads you to believe that it was pre-prepared and just sitting there, not fresh. The server was very polite and friendly. But, for a fine dining place, the food was only just so-so. There are plenty of better options in the area. "
