A word from Vinaigrette - Santa Fe
Vinaigrette is a chic and green Santa Fe bistro that raises the "salad bar" with bold and delicious entrée salads. Featuring innovative flavor combinations and the option to add savory protein accompaniments like diver scallops, lemon-herb chicken or grilled hanger steak, these tantalizingly hearty yet healthy creations allow for guiltless and delicious eating at the same time. Much of the restaurant’s organic produce is grown on owner Erin Wade's 10-acre Nambe farm, Los Portales, harvested within hours of arriving at Vinaigrette's kitchen. When not grown at the farm, the restaurant strives to source local and organic ingredients. As one local publication put it "Eating well never tasted so good."Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Wonderful dining experience in Santa Fe. The chickpea duo starter was fabulous. Great selection of drinks. Wonderful, fresh salads (cherry tart and the beet goes on). Outstanding mac and cheese for our daughter. Attentive staff. A true gem!"

  • "After getting a bit of a run-around regarding our reservation on this busy night, we were seated and enjoyed a good, if not memorable, dinner. The salads were fresh, the soups quite tasty, but the duck confit that came out on the side of one salad was rather flavorless and small in size. We will return, but with modest expectations."

  • "They have a great selection of salads and a variety of meat/chicken etc. toppings for the salads, which provide many, many options."

  • "They have a great variety of salads and very large portions, at least at dinner. I had the Asian salad with tuna steak. Too much to finish, but I didn't mind leaving some behind."

  • "The salads and sweet potatoes soup were delicious! Overall rating was outstanding 5 stars'"

  • "We finished a week in Taos and Santa Fe here, and the food was fantastic. The salads are funky and delicious and the soups we had were top notch. Just goes to show, you don't have to eat cheese and beans every night in Santa Fe!"

  • "The experience was fine. We would go more if there was more space between tables and more tables vs. picnic table style seating."

  • "We love Vinaigrette. There is some variability with the wait staff though. There seems to be an "A Team" and a less desirable "B Team" of servers. The "A Team" is top notch, showing they give a damn and are genuine. The "B Team", some of them have been working at Vinaigrette for years, give you a very fake smile, act robotic, forget what you ordered, and seem like they do not give a damn. That is too bad since this problem seems to be getting worse then getting better."

  • "Great food, reasonably priced! one of my favorites! The location is slightly tricky - I saw the sign for a year before I went because I wasn't sure where the restaurant was. It was definitely worth looking for."

  • "This was our third visit to Vinigarette. We really like the restaurant. However this time it was not pleasant. Seated at the same time as we were was a party with 4 children, including one in a high-chair. Unfortunately the high-chair child was restless, so the parent let him down. He proceeded to run around the entire restaurant, coming up behind diners and screeching as loudly as possible. It was bone-chilling and the parent totally ignored the situation doing nothing to calm or restrain the child. This went on for over 15 minutes. Staff watched the proceedings but did nothing to stop the actions of this child. Everyone (except the parent, who totally ignored the situation) found this incredibly annoying ... Horrible experience!"

  • "Vinaigrette is the "go to" place for fresh and consistently novel salads, soups and desserts. The friendly staff and seasonal salads always make Vinaigrette a welcome and appetizing destination. The kale ceasar with scallops, trout or chicken dishes are not to be missed and one can't go wrong with the espresso and carrot cake for dessert. The adobe building is comfortable and cozy in the winter but we love the outdoor patio in warm weather."

  • "Vinaigrette had a special Sparkling wine flight tasting on New Year's Eve. They paired 5 sparkling wines with small plates. The fried oysters went well with the first wine. The hit food of the evening was the lump crab and celery root salad. This salad was crunchy and had a light dressing. It did not however, match with Henriot Brut Rose it was paired with. But the Henriot was easily the best wine of the evening. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Overall this was quite a festive evening. We have eaten here several times before and all the selections have been good."

  • "Fresh delicious salads with a variety of protein toppings, including duck. Outdoor patio in season is delightful. Indoors is noisy and uncomfortable with picnic tables without a back to the chairs, tables too close together and noise level difficult to carry on a conversation."

  • "I'm a frequent diner at Vinaigrette's; it never disappoints. This time, I was accompanied by someone who is allergic to pepper. The waiter & the kitchen staff, however, rose to the challenge without blinking an eye. They figured out how to adapt her first choice --a pork dish that was marinaded with peppers-so she could "have her pork & eat it too!""

  • "We were looking for a restaurant where we could get both wine and healthy food. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing. I had the mushroom stew, which I will travel the 60 miles just to have again."

  • "Good wines, great salads, very good gumbo - and not the usually tiny, tiny Santa Fe portions. Great service, friendly waiter (but not too much), reasonable prices. The two of us shared charred brussel sprouts in balsamic, a bowl of gumbo, caesar salad, apple chedder chop, and some sort of apple pie with vanilla ice cream - and several (ok - 5 ) glasses of wine, 2 cups of coffee (I was the designated driver) - with tax for $109 - no rush to leave - you gotta go."

  • "I heard good news regarding the food and service so decided to try it for dinner. First, our GPS had difficulty taking us there so we determined that it was probably in the area so we drove around the block and luckily for us, we found it! I had the Omega salad with tuna and my husband had the Caesar salad flank steak. My salad was very good except that it had a touch of lemon juice too much. My tuna was grilled to perfection-rare which I loved. My picky husband loved his salad and steak and lo and behold, he wants to return."

  • "Committed to freshness, Vinaigrette delivers guilt-free dining to those who appreciate just-picked local veggies. I ate the Omega salad with "Today's Fresh Fish", which was ruby trout. Delicious! My husband enjoyed the salad with pork shoulder and apple. Our wonderful server brought him a small taste of the gumbo, which he pronounced to be "perfect". We'll be back."

  • "Wow! If you are in the mood for a gourmet salad, this is the place. The staff is friendly and attentive. After a steady diet of southwestern (spicy) food, Vinaigrette is a godsend. Highly recommended!!!"

  • "We were driving across country and were surprised by our success in finding excellent restaurants in even out of way places, but Vinaigrette stood out as the absolute best by far. The ambience (not fancy or stuffy, just tasteful, relaxed, and even kid friendly) and service were great, but it was the quality of the food that blew us away. Fantastic, fresh ingredients, wonderfully combined made for amazing salads (we had two, equally wonderful), a lean and flavorful Reuben, and a moist and light carrot cake. This restaurant would stand out even in foodie capitals like the Bay Area and NYC. If you're in Santa Fe, Do NOT miss it!"

  • "Door the full restaurant was being evacuated because of a gas leak. We were not called before hand. No one appeared to be leaving. I guess they were not taking new guests.management did not call us with an explanation."

  • "Vinaigrette was recommended by several Santa Fe locals. The restaurant is fairly small so we made reservations and it is a good thing we did. It was hard to choose which salad to try as they all sounded great. I chose the roasted beet salad with goat cheese and pistachios-wonderful. One friend had greek salad which was smaller as it didn't have lettuce. She liked it but thought it needed more feta. The other had garden salad, huge and very good. None of us added an optional "protein" to our salads but two ordered side dishes. The mac and cheese was very good and the scalloped potatoes with green chiles were outstanding. Be sure to request bread if you want it as it is not supplied unless you ask. It was crusty and served with olive oil. Yum"

  • "We enjoyed our soup and salad dinner at Vinaigrette while visiting Santa Fe. We wanted a lighter meal during our week of travels, and Vinaigrette fit the bill. Since we aren't big eaters, we split a salad (easily large enough for two). My hubby had a bowl of the daily special soup (gumbo with duck and sausage and lots of veggies) and I had a cup of the mushroom stew. All very fresh and delicious. The wait staff was very nice and prompt, but our order was completely mixed up. The salad did not arrive the way we requested, but was promptly corrected. Then our soups came out and my husband's order was incorrect. Again, it was promptly corrected. It was almost comical. They ended up not charging us for the soups at all so we left a big tip. :-)"
