  • "The 4th time I visited this restaurant is the last. The server was pleasant, but overworked. Our group of 5 did not receive enough attention and had to repeatedly request bread, more water, and to order. For the 5 diners, misplacement of each order resulted in moving around both salad and dinner plates several times. I traveled over 30 minutes and invited friends to specifically dine here. The menu reads well, but the food was just OK, nothing exceptional. Personally, the food was over salted. My previous 3 visits each left me with a strong desire to return to this restaurant, but after this last experience I won't go back. What seemed a neighborhood gem has lost its sparkle, panache and flair for sophistication. Bummer."

  • "From start to finish, a great dining experience. You can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu. We had mussels, polenta, duck, lamb, beef, snapper and tres leches cake and molten chocolate cake and everything was freaking delicious!! Definitely will be coming back soon!!"

  • "The appetizers were fantastic - particularly enjoyed the mussels with housemade sausage and toothful polenta. The salads, especially prosciutto w/ grapefruit was delightful. Mains - everyone found the housemade pasta delicious! The preparation of scallops and other seafood were very good. Desserts - Lemon Semifreddo was delicious - tart, light and refreshing Service - fantastic, we were greeted promptly by the manager/maitre'd. He came by more than once to ensure we were enjoying the food and service."

  • "We were a party of 5 that had a groupon for 4 so the 5th person needed their own bill, they were very accommodating. Our waitress was very helpful in makiing food suggestions and also made sure to come an let us know that there had been a mixup with our order and it would take just a bit longer. The food is excellent and I would absoluatly recommend it to friends looking for a special night out."

  • "My wife and I went here for our anniversary, from the moment we walked in till the time we left, we were treated as if we were special, like family. The wait staff was very pleasant and helpful, taking time with us to go over the menu items and recommend selections for us based on our questions. The food was excellent, everything was hand made from scratch. Great restaurant for special occasions when you do not want feel rushed through or do not want to listen to a bunch of disrupting children. Overall, a very nice place."

  • "Everyone, from the hostess, the bar tender and the wait staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. Our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived, so they gave a small glass of Proseco to sip while we looked at the extensive (Italian) wine list. Our waiter had a complete understanding of the menu and how each dish was prepared. We split a Caesar salad that was crisp and minimally dressed with homemade dressing and an optional anchovy. My wife had linguini with clam sauce, which had a light but flavorful sauce and a pile of fresh clams. I had pork tenderloin stuffed pork cheek confit with spetzel and red cabbage. We split a chocolate lava cake for dessert, which had a touch of heat (cayenne?) with peppermint gelato. We'll be back."

I'm hoping our waitress was just having a bad day, because she was pretty uninterested in my husband and I sitting at her table. She took our order, brought our food, and that was about it. She didn't converse with us or tell us anything about the menu, and generally seemed annoyed to be waiting on us."

Our waiter was attentive, but not imposing. He gave us a great wine selection and the food was amazing. The Red Snapper was wonderful and they are now making their own rum ice cream for the bread pudding. Great place for a special occasion or just a nice dinner in the neighborhood."

  • "Had the Parpardelle Bouglonese with a Valpolecella the server chose. Outstanding! spouse had Tortelloni with an Italian white chosen by the server again. We shared their version of a Muscles dish that had little sausages mixed in that was as surprise and delicious! This place is a smaller venue with less noise than most. The servers are knowledgeable and courteous and seem to have all there attention for you."

  • "First and most important note for potential patrons: DON'T order the cheese for dessert. You will get a $7 SLIVER, yes, SLIVER, of cheese. Not a selection of cheeses, not a hunk of cheese, a tiny SLIVER. I was utterly shocked at that finish to the evening. It was offensive for them to price it so high for a SLIVER. We had poor service that night. The owner/manager seemed eager to please and we were seated quickly, but two other tables seated AFTER us had a waiter and were able to place orders before we were! I expect exceptional service at the prices they charge. It was an effort to maintain the attention of the house for getting simple things, like water refills. Won't return and will not recommend it to my foodie friends."

  • "We've visited the Wooden Table twice in a month to celebrate my husband's birthday and my birthday. I had called ahead to have champagne chilled and at the table before our arrival and Gary, the sommelier, had two beautiful options, both well explained and at varying price points. Gary led us through the wine list and we ultimately decided on a 2012 Justin Isosceles which was out of this world and though it was a splurge, it was $35 less expensive than typical wine lists. When ordering wine at $125+, these price breaks can be significant. The food, ambiance, service, food and attention were impeccable, as always. Many thanks to the staff at The Wooden Table for another beautiful evening. We are always well fed and appreciated."

  • "Four of us enjoyed this restaurant for Restaurant Week. Everything was to die for. I enjoyed every last bite of the flavorful trout meal. Those who had short ribs felt they were the best ever. The pasta and salad were also wonderful. The servers did a wonderful job with a full restaurant. This is a restaurant that I will definitely go to again. I appreciate the extra effort they went to on restaurant week to serve a really special meal. (I felt the serving sizes were just right.)"
