Our latest meal included the duck bowl, and it was beyond delicious - cooked with ginger, quinoa, fabulous. Banana cream pie a bit gooey, next time I'll go for the bread pudding, made with carrot cake, and swerved warm."

  • "I brought an out of town friend here for dinner. I've been here a few times and love Red Door's food. We both ordered the pan seared halibut. So tender, flaky and tasty. The potato soup was amazing. I worried that it might be too thick or creamy, as some places make their potato soup that way; not so with Red Door. The soup was tasty and light (perfect for a starter) with just the right touch of spice from the jalapenos. The homemade bread with the garlic and white bean spread; I could have eaten that all night! The Red Door's presentation is always so lovely. Our server was Arturo. What a gem. He was so friendly and helpful. He even helped us make sure we had enough money in the meter out front for our car. Thank you!"

  • "Started with the roasted beet salad to share, not a beet fan myself, but they were amazingly good! I had the flank steak and it was flavorful, the potatoes on the side were also very good. Husband had the ribs and enjoyed them very much. It was our anniversary and they served us a wonderful desert and champagne. To top everything off, our waiter was excellent! Will definitely return."

  • "Since we live in North County, we don't venture out of the area much for dining purposes. The Red Door was definitely worth the trip. The food, service and ambience was delightful, a combined experience that you simply can't match in larger restaurants. It seems that our party tried just about everything on the menu, and we were not disappointed with one thing, from the flatbread appetizer to the goat cheesecake for desert. The kale salad, beet salad and butter lettuce salads were all fresh, tasty and well-presented. The pork schnitzel, ribeye and catch-of-the-day, while all delightfully different, were all hits at the table (I had a bite of each!). Our younger diners loved the burger. We will definitely be back to The Red Door!"

  • "My husband and I decided to try The Red Door on our date night. It was very easy to make reservations and that was great! When we arrived we were seated at a beautiful table next to the window with a great view. The server we had was also very nice and knowledgeable! The only issue we had was the wait time for our food- as we were on a time limit to go see a movie after dinner. The food took a very long time to prepare- but we know it was because all the food is fresh from the garden and prepared when ordered. When the food came it was very good. We enjoyed this cute little restaurant and are very happy we decided to try it!"

  • "Arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and were told our table wasn't ready, so we waited at the bar. After about 15 minutes, another 4 people came in and were seated. We asked one of the servers (no manager on site) what had happened with our table, he said "the people wouldn't leave"; then we asked why the other table was seated, he said we both had a reservation at the same time, to which we asked why weren't we seated before them if we had arrived first. His response: "I will go and ask the people at your table to leave". He took off and came back to let us know they were leaving. We were finally seated 30 minutes after the time of our reservation. Food was just OK and service was attentive but amateurish for the rest of the night."

  • "Had a lovely lunch for two. The side salad of mixed greens was light and fresh The entree was sirloin strips with grilled vegies on quinoa. Excellent texture, but I added some of the cheese sauce that comes with the garlic fries. Wine list is not large but varied enough to find something that fits. Some tables are farm-house style benches with lots of pillows. This could be good for a group not on a normal day (it's too small for a group larger than 6 per table) but if you could get the whole restaurant,that would be very nice. Brad was courteous and very accommodating. Oh, and the fruit infused water was delicious and refreshing!"

  • "Pros: - good ambiance - when a side dish took forever to come out, waiter gave it for free Cons: - lack of vegetarian options - the one vegetarian option (butternut squash lasagna) was bad - no friendly hostess to welcome us and get us to our reserved table. Instead, there were just busy waiters ignoring us and seeming annoyed at us having arrived. Nobody seemed to want to show us our table. - nobody ever answers the phone... we tried calling 4 times before driving to the restaurant, but there was no answer - way too expensive (given the disappointing quality)"

  • "What a wonderful place to come for brunch on a Sunday. We were welcomed by very helpful staff and seated at our table pretty much instantly, no waiting even though it looked liked they were pretty busy. They had some live music going on which was very pleasant and set a great Sunday afternoon mood. The menu was very well put together, the only hard part was figuring out what to order. I decided to go with the garden vegetable fritta. Food came about pretty quick and pipping hot. Love the fritta, was cooked perfectly, not under or over cooked and the assortment of local veggies from the restaurant's garden was great. Can't wait to come back!"

Our server was friendly and accommodating. While I wouldn't call their meals expensive there is a small premium for the quality that I'm happy to pay. I'm sure we'll be back many more times."

  • "Enjoyed a nice evening at The Red Door. The restaurant is on the small side, but we had a reservation for 2 on Saturday night and they had our table waiting for us. From the moment you step inside, it feels like a good experience. The lighting and ambiance is perfect for a date or a quiet evening with a group of friends. We ordered the short ribs, and the butternut squash lasagna with kale pasta. Both dishes were very good and complimented each other well. The short ribs were tender and subtly flavorful. At first, I was a little underwhelmed (because of all the good reviews of this dish), but the dish seemed to get better with each bite. The lasagna was good from the first bite, full of richness and flavor. Dishes were also well portioned."

  • "Love the ambiance. Feels calm and intimate. Food is out of this world. The chef does amazing things with fresh veggies from the owner's farm. Everything I tried was incredible. Staff is awesome- hung out at the bar after for a drink and learned more about the restaurant. Would 100% recommend this anyone looking for a peaceful date night and amazing food. Prices were reasonable for how delicious the food was!"

  • "I went to this restaurant with a friend for Restaurant Week. I ended up ordering from the regular menu because the gluten free options were limited and the cost really wasn't any higher. My friend got the squash and spinach lasagna on the special menu though and LOVED it! The service was kind of slow, but understandably so because I think they were a lot busier than normal with the Restaurant Week. The servers were super friendly, though. The hostess gave us one of the best tables, right by the window. The place seemed very loud with people talking, but it was fine and probably also because it was so busy! We had a great time."
