A word from The Purple Room
In the early 60s Palm Springs’ Purple Room at Club Trinidad became the sweet spot of the swinging supper club scene. Cats like Frank and Dino hung with their pals to eat, drink play. The Purple Room re-opens with its pedigree legacy in mind. We embrace the style, the carefree and creative spirit of that era. With a nod to its history, we will be making history of our own. We are one of two original Rat Pack hang outs left in the desert today. We have brought back the style and class of the purple room, offering quality entertainment for the desert. Like our big brother,TRIO Restaurant, it’s a local favorite a place where you can come in feel at home.

Celebrity sightings. You never know who will be at the PR, so we ask that you allow our guests to enjoy themselves.

What happens at The Purple Room … Stays at The Purple Room.

It’s where Palm Springs Plays!

Diner Reviews
  • "I loved the food and the entire experience. Our dinner companions thought the music too loud to have a conversation and we were seated in a booth far in the back. That said, maybe a little less amplification!? I was happy."

  • "We attended a show which was terrific. There is a small dance floor for those that choose to indulge and it is way to the side of the dining room so the diners/patrons can still enjoy the show. The servers are terrific, too."

  • "I have been to the Purple Room numerous times and have always been happy with everything. I enjoy going when a show is scheduled. I know most of the areas performers who are excellent such as The Judy Show or Michael as himself. I am usually alone so I sit at the bar where I can enjoy the show. I noticed that the sound system is much better. I will always come back !!!"

  • "Trio was our favorite spot when we came to town, but now the Purple Room (part of the Trio family) has taken over. It's small, the food is delicious, the service great and it was one of the few places in PS that isn't overrun with obnoxious bachelorette parties taking selfies and clamoring over their gay wait staff. The bartender made a delicious raspberry lemon drop martini, Danielle is an amazing server from start to finish and the filet mignon was the best I have ever had compared to any high end steakhouse. This place is small, intimate, can be a bit loud, but the ambiance makes it a place to enjoy and remember. We felt welcome from the moment we walked in. Having a reservation definitely helps. We will be back to dine for sure!"

  • "We went to the Purple Room to see Kal David and we weren't disappointed! Service was excellent, we never had to want for anything. Our waiter, Al, was new but we would have never known if he hadn't told us. He was outstanding, along with all the other staff members. Very relaxed atmosphere. We shared the ribs, they were just Ok. The real star was Kal David and Miss Lauri. If you love the blues and want to be entertained, then you shouldn't miss it. Kal is amazing. We would go again in a heartbeat."

  • "This place is a supper club type of environment, has limited parking, you need to go early to find street parking). Manager Tom tries hard to accommodate seating, works hard and is always gracious. Tables for two are small, should be replaced with larger if you're dining to be more comfortable. Food pricey and just ok, we'd like to see more American kind of dishes at lower prices. Entertainer Kal David is outstanding and why we go, good happy hour too! The venue should get hotel to allow parking in their spaces. Also would be appreciated if on some Saturday nights advance notice given that there may be a wait for an early show to end before going in, and guests should be allowed to at least have a drink and wait at the bar more comfortably."

  • "Our dining experience at the Purple Room was great! We arrived early, 5:30 expecting the early bird menu, unfortunately the gentleman that was at the reception area let us know there would be a comedy show that evening and they could not offer specials. We were invited to pay $50.00 ea. for dinner and a 7 p.m. show if we would like. We opted to dine off the regular menu and skip the show. Our appetizer was fried oysters Dinner for myself was the ribs which were fall off the bone, mouth watering delicious! My husband had the lamb chops, perfectly cooked with mint jelly... Our waiter for the evening was Chris who was absolutely wonderful!"

  • "I am so happy I decided to try the Purple Room. I tend to stay in hotels on the south side of town, and the sign caught my eye. After reading some reviews, I booked a table for me and my 3 friends. "Mr. Fabulous" was playing, and it was incredibly fun. Our waiter, Chris was fantastic, and helped us with lots of food & drink recommendations. My group all enjoyed their delicious meals, and the entertainment was so fun. I have already told many friends about it, and can't wait to go back!! A must!"

  • "Although frequent patrons of The Purple Room, this was our first time to see and hear the Michael Holmes Trio. When you combine very good food and service with great music - you get a terrific evening. Highly recommend this venue and this show."

  • "although the table we had was not the most comfortable (even though we'd had a standing reservation and were disappointed the table we received was against the wall, small and uncomfortable, we were offered one closer to the stage but it would've been to loud and it was still small) so the tables for two need to be a bit larger for food and room space to be comfortable. The food and show and service were outstanding. The host Tom very very kind and gracious and did his best to try to help us and said wed get a more comfortable on our return for which we are appreciative. Nice employees all around and a great supper club!"

  • "We had a rack of lamb that was scrumptious. That night the group, "Mr. Fabulous" were performing. All the musicians were excellent but the pianist and the saxophone player were OUTSTANDING. Worth a trip to Palm Springs to hear them. "

  • "We had a fantastic time!! I came with my bachelorette party and the staff and Mr. Fabulous made us feel like we were special and truly made my night special. The food was great--highly recommend the rib eye! The crowd, although somewhat mature, was friendly and enthusiastic. We had many options, and went with The Purple Room on a whim--SO GLAD!! I will remember this night forever :-) We went to Lulu's on Saturday night and it was a let down...the food was okay, but no recognition and not one congrats...sad...and there were at least 6 other bridal parties and none of us were treated any differently than any other customer. If you want to feel special, or if you wan to celebrate with class, then the Purple Room is the place to go :)"

  • "We totally enjoyed the whole evening. The waiter was outstanding and very attentive. The trio on Wednesday Night played all the old standards of the Rat Pat Era and was quit entertaining. The bonus was that the food was delicious. We all had rack of lamb. The nightclub feel of yesteryears was the draw, so don't miss a night out on the town at The Purple Room"

  • "We went to Purple Room during Restaurant Week. The Food is absolutely fabulous. My husband and I shared each of our choices I had Fresh Salmon with Crab Cakes as Appetizer and he had the Bone In Rib Eye Steak with Brussel Sprouts Salad - just so we could experience as much as possible. Both dishes were "the bomb". The service was excellent, the music very entertaining. We happened to be on the night there was a female entertainer who sounded better than Barbara Streisand. A definite highlight of our evening. Would highly recommend dining here for a great experience - !"

  • "One would generally expect to "excuse" certain niceties of good restaurant qualities in a supper club. Surprisingly, that is not the case here!! From the initial host's greeting, to the appearance by the service staff, and on through each successive course, my husband and I were delighted to experience only the most professional attention/service, and found each food course to be prepared and served at a level beyond our hopeful expectations ('twas our first visit there). My rack of lamb was perfectly Med-Rare as ordered, as was hubby's prime rib. This will not be our last visit here -- next time we'll pay more attention to the stage performers!"

  • "Unfortunate;ly as you enter there is an odor of mold or something unpleasant. This is a small room with tables fairly close together and several obstructed by poles (supports). We started with a drink at the bar which was quite good. The clientele are more inclined to be friendly and engage in conversation rather than losing themselves in their technology devices. REFRESHING! The wedge salad was mediocre, but the rack of lamb was excellent. The music was very good and leaned toward "The Rat Pack Era" on the evening that we were there. If the owners could improve the entrance and tweak the menu, this would rate more highly. Currently it is an "In Place" in Palm Springs, but so many places are flashes in the pan in the desert."

  • "Every once in a while you go to a place and find a hidden gem. This one is relatively near home and more spectacular and amazing than we expected. It is a cozy little supper club with great sounds from the stage and still the ability to talk without overpowering the entertainment. The food was "off the chain" good and the service is "just what you would imagine" if you wanted the best. "

  • "Ate in the bar for restaurant week dinner. Nice lounge bar, comfortable booth. One person had the fried oysters and they were some of the best we have had, along with a very large portion of excellent gumbo (no okra, however). Shredded broccoli salad was very tasty. The lamb chops were prepared perfectly, and a large portion. Dessert was strawberry/chocolate bread pudding and it was terrific. Service was good until needed after dinner drinks and then slow. Happy hour menu and prices would draw us back. Nice jazz started at 6:30 (Later on weekends) which was pleasant with dinner. This is now on our list of places to bring out of town guests."

  • "I've been wanting to try this supper club for a while, so with the local restaurant week promotion, decided to make a reservation. I'm so glad I did. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our evening. We had a booth, #63 (it's THE one to ask for), not too close to the band with full view of the restaurant. Our waiter, Chris was excellent, in fact all the service staff were very good at their jobs. The food was tasty, the dessert was the only slight let down in presentation, however, flavor was excellent. I would definitely go again. We left at about 11 p.m., which was when the second music set was just beginning. Excellent venue for dinner or late night drinks."

  • "It's sad when there are so many good things going on - wonderful food and service - and it's spoiled by a noise level that makes the whole dining experience unbearable - even after we and other diners had asked for the music level to be turned down. Our reservation was for 6:30. This is not a dining time for the young hip crowd. Also the tables are small and very crowded together. NOT a fun evening when it could and should have been."

  • "The tables were too close together and were small if you had a table of four people. The service and the food were both vey good but not out of this world. The staff were friendly and courteous but I didn't get that special feel about the restaurant that other places make you feel. I think the cabaret style seating is great for when the show is on but the best tables looked to be the tall booths in the far back. Overall, we had a nice veining but there is no real reason to rush back. "

  • "What a great place for dinner and live music. Mr Fabulous and his band made the night. Also impressive was our excellent service provided by our waitress Danielle Rocco. Danielle was constantly at our service providing constant attention the entire evening. Danielle is a gem. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced for the high quality. I tasted the steak, lamb and salmon and it was all excellent. The wine list is also comprehensive and well chosen. Mr Fabulous and his band were excellent. They are playing all summer and they are not to be missed. The solos by the Sax player from Louisiana, the keyboardist from Phili, the guitar player and Base players from LA were astounding. Mr Fabulous the singer was also excellent. "

  • "If you have not been there in a while, it is a totally different place. There is live music 7 days a week (blues rock, comedy, jazz, alternative) and quality food and drinks in an elegant retro 60's (pre-hippie) style setting. The service is outstanding which is unusual for this type of venue."
