The Cellar is the perfect setting for an intimate and romantic evening of fine dining. In 1969, artistic craftsmen of Disneyland fame created a romantic rendezvous in the cellar of the old California Hotel. Intimate and cozy, the dining room is elegant amid structured arches and cave-like walls that are deecorated with wine casks and silver lanterns. Culinary excellence abounds with only the finest and freshest foods prepared in a lighter version of classical French cuisine and finely crafted cocktails which set a benchmark for all of Southern California!

We were celebrating two birthdays in our family and the team at The Cellar really went above and beyond our expectations to make it memorable for us! First, they gave our party of 5 “the best table”in the house. Second, 3 of our party arrived a little early and they went ahead and seated us, this was very much appreciated! Finally, the beverages, the soups, the entrees, and of course desserts could not have been better. Everything was exquisitely prepared with nothing but the finest and most flavorful ingredients. The entire evening was a real treat for our family! All of us had dined with you once before so we were familiar with the offerings but, the servers extra attentiveness and so many little touches made for a fabulous evening. Thank you to all of you… hostesses, servers, bartenders, chefs, and managers for a wonderful birthday celebration for our family!

Everything was great. But damn, bump up the AC a little more. It was getting warm in there. But every else is great a must try for first timers

The servers are the best part of the restaurant, everything else is mediocre minus. Cocktails: 3/10 heavy and too sweet, out of 4 we tried, none was a highlight. Food: 5/10 The burrata salad was their best dish. Their “famous” lobster bisque is an experiment of how much salt can you dissolve in cream, this is the 2nd time, we though it was a problem last time, but obviously is the same every day. The duck grossly undercooked, comes with pea ravioli that were good. The flank steak with frittes was decent. Ambiance: Dim lights, good for date night. Designed in the 60’s and feels like a Disney Pirates of the Caribbean-ish - BUT… the place has not been maintained, same carpets, the upholstery on the chairs is coming apart, everything just looks old and not maintained -in spite of the expensive cost. Value: Grossly overpriced. Plates not worth $50+ each and wines are at 3-4 times street value. Can’t ask for Michelin starred prices with mediocre food and rundown ambiance. Final thought: The owner is using this as a cash cow and has not bother to use a small budget to even re-upholster the old chairs. Please change!

The ambiance was amazing our server was very nice and attentive. The food was amazing the only thing was I felt the mashed potatoes needed a bit more salt but they were very delicious. Would definitely come here again!!!

It has been almost 10 years since we last dine at the Cellar. We’ve forgotten the dining room layout. We’” 2”were seated at a corner table near the bar. The noise from the patrons at the bar got loud at times taking away the quiet romantic mood during dining.

The food was disappointing, over-salted and unremarkable. Heather was our server and she was excellent. Considering the price of the meal, I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend or colleague.
