At first I was worried when I heard that the Bavarian Inn had new owners but I now think it is even better than before. The menu has a few mainstays that have been complimented by great new additions. There is more variety of dishes and the quality and taste is excellent. The service was relatively quick, friendly and helpful. It's a nice drive from Calgary to visit and the food is worth the time. I have no problem recommending this restaurant and look forward to going back. I recommend the Jaeger Schnitzel.

We took our son for dinner for his birthday, He is a chef, his 1st time, we have been here multiple times, he tried to book a place in Calgary, but nothing was available till later in the evening, so we suggested the Bavarian Inn, We let him do most of the ordering for everyone so we all had different selections, everything was fabulous from the wine to the appetisers, dinner and even desert, considering the place was busy, the service was still exceptional. I have a food allergy and they always take such good care of me, we love coming here, feels like our little place. My son even says we can take him there again,

We went to the Bavarian Inn in Bragg Creek for an anniversary dinner. Have been here before & have always had good food & service. Requested a quiet table for two, but we were placed in the lounge & there were quite a few families with small children eating there. Very loud & chaotic. It seemed to be a night that was more busy than usual. They do not usually place large family groups in the lounge. Was a very nice meal & good service. Would come back even though it was too loud on this visit.

Glad we made an online reservation because the restaurant was quite booked up. We got a table near the fireplace (which would be chilly on cooler days if the fire is not going because there is an outside draft). At any rate, we had the seafood sampler and it was delicious. I had pork medallions with a Berry-Stilton compote with side vegetables & spatzl. Mine was very, very good and I'd have it again. My husband had elk in peppercorn sauce and though his was good, he liked mine better. The wine menu was good with several options. They even had a page of discounted wines as they were clearing some types from their cellar. We are so happy we tried this restaurant again, since they serve much more than just schnitzel.

Once again our Bragg Creek favorite didn't disappoint us or our guests - impeccable service with a smile, awesome menu choices that will satisfy any appetite or palate, generous portions, cozy & comfortable ambiance and the gourmet cuisine continually ignites our taste buds that keep us coming back for more. The Chef is amazing! The cucumber salad is a work of art, the veal dumplings get the food party started and my bison entree was prepared to mouth watering tender perfection. Perfect spot for an afternoon appetizer and cocktail on the patio, a romantic dinner for 2 or a special occasion with family and friends. Make reservations because it is a popular spot. Enjoy. :-)

Barvarian Inn did not have our reservation. They had lots of room and sat us in the empty half of the restaurant. Then the space filled up over the next hour and everyone was served food while we waited for our orders. 20 minutes before water was served. Another 20 before bread. Reservation was at 12:30 and we received our food about 2:15 and were out of there about 2:30. I would have left but it was a family lunch. Should have talked to the owner but didn't have time.

I sure waited long enough to get out to The Bavarian Inn and I already can't wait to return! We came here on a Friday evening & were happy to be seated on the patio to enjoy the scenery. Our server was very attentive throughout the meal without being overbearing. He was quite funny too! We enjoyed some German beers with our starter, the Alpine Teller, a delicious assortment of meats and cheeses - perfect for sharing! My boyfriend ordered the Salmon special for dinner and enjoyed it a lot. I had to stay true to the ethnicity and absolutely enjoyed the Jager Schnitzel. It was prepared to perfection and reminded me of Sunday dinners that my mom used to make. We shared the Apfel Strudel for dessert & it was divine! We'll be back!!

Stopped in with the kids & my mum after a long day at Calaway Park. The kids' meals were very nice. Adults shared the Carpaccio, delicious! Then we waited, & waited & were finally informed that our meals had been delivered to another table. When we did receive our food my meal (elk) was very good, my mother's meal however (Jäger-Schnitzel) started out great, until she got to some raw parts (not rare, she loves rare - but raw). We promptly sent it back & it came out about 5 minutes later - and it was clear the kitchen just put the meat & sauce back into a pan to finish cooking the meat. Unfortunately this completely ruined the creamy mushroom sauce. The staff did apologize & offered 15% off our next visit, too bad my mum will not return.

Living in Calgary we are always looking for a dining escape out of the City. The Bavarian never fails us. Service, food quality and ambience are always consistently good. Throw in the fire burning in the quaint fireplace in the winter and the comfortable patio in the summer with the lovely view and occasional deer wandering by and it's hard for your pulse not too slow down and take some time to relax. I am a schnitzel fan and good German food is tough to come by in these parts so we are happy that the Bavarian survived the floods and hope it will continue to prosper.

We had not been to the Bavarian for awhile so decided to go for lunch. The service was friendly and professional. The menu offered a great choice and the wine list has a nice variety of wines. I chose the Jaeger Schnitzel. The meat was cooked to perfection, the sauce subtle yet tasty. My husband opted for the sausgae trio. He loved the combination and the three different mustards. Both meals came with sauercroute, red cabbage and nice veggies. We had the in house made black forest cake for dessert. It was scrumptious and not sweet, just perfect. We will definitely be back to the Bavarian Inn. This is one of the best restaurant meals we have had recently.

Great place overall. Food is delicious, service is great. The only "bad" thing I have to say about our last visit is that most patrons (and this is absolutely beyond the restaurant's control) dressed and behaved as if they were in a Mcdonald's. Again, food is delicious and service is great.

Another memorable evening! My husband and I enjoyed a return to one of our favourite restaurants serving fresh Canadian food in a southern German style, accompanied by a red German wine from a list that boasted a fine variety of both grapes and prices. The joy of sitting in evening sunshine, watching trees, clouds and blue sky, accompanied by natural birdsong, was only bettered by the quality of smiling service. Our next visit in August will introduce family from Italy and Australia to a 'different' style of Canadian dining as we celebrate 70th birthdays past, present and to come. A fitting location for a one of a kind experience!
