Diner Reviews
  • "A little pricey but always good. Love the beer and wine selection"

  • "Booked it for lunch accidentally. Mistook it for Vlade Divac's restaurant that evidently is now closed. Happy we made the mistake. Terrific service with friendly wait staff. A menu that changes to bring people back. A shaded patio so helpful in Sacramento. It also has a semi private room and we are thinking of having a dinner there in June. More to come!"

  • "Interesting menu, everything was beautifully presented."

  • "My wife and I ate there on Saturday night with a couple of friends. Food and ambience were both very good. Service was good as well. Not a huge menu, but had a little of everything. I had the apple, blue cheese, and endive salad. Was exceptionally good. My wife had the beet salad which was very good as well albeit with a very unusual presentation. For the main course I had the lamb and chorizo which was extraordinary. My wife had the T bone which was well prepared. Only minor "gripe" was that the main course portions were huge. They were well prepared but could have been a little smaller. I'de definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back again."

  • "We had a great experience. Before arriving, the restaurant called to ask whether we wanted a table or booth. I was impressed. The dinner was outstanding. I had the 'Thursday special' which was a 'farm to table' 3 course set menu. It was great, starting with the salad, continuing to the main course and finishing with a fresh dish of sorbet. I highly recommend going on Thursday evening to enjoy the 3 course dinner."

  • "Brisket was super-salty. Pork belly over-cooked. Other than that, not that tasteful. Very disappointed. Also, service was slow and in attentive."

  • "Food and service were great. Had the sepcial of the day which was salmon, very good. Came with risotto, also very good. Very small portion of salmon and the meal did not have any vegatbles so left hungry. Next time I'll order a salad."

  • "Enjoyed our meal at Ten22, friends pass- through town, some how landed in West Sacramento at the Holiday inn express, so it was a short drive to old sac. They enjoyed old sac, and walked around before dinner and had fun.Dinner was good, a strong B overall..Always support local family owned business."

  • "Really enjoyed the meal and Jack was a fantastic server."

  • "We have gone to this restaurant twice. We have enjoyed both visits. In each case the food was very good to excellent. The wait staff was pleasant, helpful and courteous. However, there was a lag in service. The first time, the lag in timely arrival of requested items prolonged dinner beyond our 3yr old granddaughter's endurance. The second time, it was just my wife and me. This time the slowness was mitigated by our waitress' pleasant demeanor, her ready acknowledgement of and apology for the backup and the fact that we were not pressed for time. We will definitely go there for dinner again. If the kitchen (I suspect that is where the backup occurred) speeds up just a bit, my next review would move up to the very good or excellent level."

  • "We had 11:30 am reservations and the doors were open before then so it was very inviting as was the hostess in front. Our waiter was very attentive and graciously returned my order twice as it was not as I ordered. We all enjoyed our food and wine and were happy with the parking validations for our party of 3."

  • "When my husbands cousins planned their biannual get-together, we chose 1022 as a good central spot....and we will again! We'd had a prior experience with reserving and hosting a large group here, and were not disappointed once again. Two changes in reservation size were effortlessly accommodated, everything was ready when we arrived, service personnel were friendly and knowledgeable, and the surroundings were lovely. The food was wonderful! A fun menu to chose from, and delicious results served to us made the afternoon every special. We all traveled several hours to meet for this lunch, and will most willingly book this restaurant again."

  • "Loved the food... I would definitely go back! My only complaint would be... That they served out martinis in a wine glass. :)"

  • "Although the interior space was very nice, the ill fitting heavy metal soundtrack shold have been my first clue that attention to detail would be lacking. fodd was uninspired and in poarticular, the cuban sandwhich was dry and dull. how could it be? It really needed some kind of sauce on the pork. and the raw sliced jalepenos toothpic ked onto the top of the bread didn't help things. My curry chicken salad was ok with lots of chicken but also largely uninspired. The waitress wasn't rude, she just was not friendly and really didn;t seem to understand what was actually on the menu and had trouble answering questions about it."

  • "Everything was delicious and unique. The bread was wonderful, the ceasar salad was different and delicious. The sea bass and risotto was very good. The live music was very enjoyable."

  • "Burgers were salty. Compared to Roxy's , Mighty Tavern and Ruth's Chris , burger was a poor fourth. Server was cocky, didn't offer dessert, made it clear he wasn't pleased to have two silvered haired women at his station."

  • "Exit the dusty streets of Old Sac and enter one of the most beautiful restaurants in downtown Sacramento. Simple yet elegant. Surprisingly quiet. The booths have high walls providing a quiet, comfortable and private space. Only downside is that it is a tight fit for a larger person to fit into. The menu is varied, with many options for every palette, including gluten free and vegetarian. Lots of specials including Wild Game Night Wednesdays. The food was as delicious as the restaurant beautiful. Not a place to try if you're on a budget. It's pricey, but well worth the expense."

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful evening of food that was well-executed, in flavor, presentation, as well as service. Portions were quite large. Enjoyed many dishes reminiscent of New Orleans. They were very gracious in accommodating my husband's medical need for a gluten-free diet. Our only regret is that we hadn't come here before - but look forward to returning."

  • "I called to reserve the "Chef's Table" for my anniversary and called a week in advance to schedule it. I was told I would receive a call back from the Chef so that the menu can be customized. I called back two more times in the following days since I had not received a call back from the Chef. On my third call back, I got a hold of the manager and was told that it's now too late to schedule the "Chef's Table", I told him that I had originally called a week before but never received a call back. His statement was, "Oh, that's too bad, but there's nothing I can do." This left me two days before my anniversary without any reservations. I promptly called and booked dinner at WATERBOY, which was far better than any meal Ive had at Ten22."

  • "We're big fans of live music. That was our #1 criteria in trying out your establishment for an intimate anniversary dinner. Your website really piqued our interest and seemed to fit our preferences. Making a reservation was a charm with OpenTable. Parking was nearby and easily accessible (once we researched our drive route sufficiently online). The ambience, wait staff, food, excellent beer choices and music all exceeded our expectations. Thank you, we'll recommend you to friends and we'll be back."

  • "From beginning to end, our service was very slow. The great food helped to make up for it, however."

  • "We have eaten here a few times & it has always been good. The quality of service has gone downhill. I saw a table of eight get up & leave because no one had come by to help them. I'm not sure we'll.go back."

  • "I've only just now gotten around to writing this review but I want to say that my experience here was terrible and I would never go there again. The food was pricey and mostly cold. We both had serious errors on our orders and no offer nor any apology for the errors. Really, there was no excuse since they weren't really busy when we came in and it's not like we were really early or late. I will never go back to this restaurant again."

  • "This was my first visit and I have to admit, although the menu was not as long as I would have hoped for, the food was delicious, the restaurant was real pretty, and the customer service was awesome-very very nice and pleasant."

  • "I come in for lunch and love it, this was my first time for dinner. Our entrees were OK, but I liked my lunch experiences better. I left a note on OpenTable that we were going for our anniversary, and was impressed that several people congratulated us."

  • "My wife and I had dinner at Ten22 for the first time on Saturday 2/21 . We were greeted and sited immediately. The disappointment came when we got our foood. Wife order a steak and I had their salmon. The food was good but I thought the portions of what we got was very small. I was hoping that for $33 per plate, you were going to get your money's worth. There were no salad or soup included. After half ways done with our dinner, we got the bread and olive oil dip. I thought the bread came before dinner?? I had two beers and my wife order a soda. Our bill was almost $100.00. Just be aware that this restaurant it is not affordable. I would rate it as $$$$. Eventhough Food is good. I don't plan to come back. I believe it is over priced."

  • "This was my first visit to Ten22 and let me say it was one of the best dining experiences. The service and food were excellent. Sous Chef Dennis Syndor was in rare form in food preparation and presentation. My date and I are already planning our next visit to Ten22."

  • "This is the second time a have been to Ten22. The first being lunch on a Sunday whith the food and service were fine. This time around someone had to send their dinner back (the meat was unediable) and the kitchen was a bit slow. The restaurant itself has a great patio which will be great during the summer but the kitchen needs to get their house in order."

  • "The food was very good, the service was outstanding. Overall, a very good experience that I would recommend without hesitation to anyone. A nice find for me and the group I was with."

  • "I have dined here four times since Chef Jay took over; I love the food, which is fresh, interesting, and always spot-on in preparation. This time my companion and I shared a romaine and reggiano parmesan salad, a variant on a Caesar; a veggie pizza with foraged mushrooms and arugula; and winter squash ravioli topped with walnuts, tomatoes, and dried fruit. The salad was fresh and nicely sharp, everything had eye appeal, and the flavors and textures in the pizza and ravioli satisfied the tongue. On my recent visits, the service lagged behind the food. While the server was friendly, he was not very familiar with the food, and was forgetful about requests we made for information. The waits (for bread, and for each course) were too long."

  • "I love coming to Ten 22. It is nice to leave the midtown scene and head to Old Sac. The service is always great. The servers are knowledgable and they engage you with suggestions and conversation. I like that. The food is always tasty and the portions are hearty. The wine list is extensive and it varies for all different palates. I like that they have valet parking as parking in Old Sacramento can be challenging. After 8pm it is free on the streets. Ten 22 also stays open late. This is another plus. Making a dinner reservation for 9pm or 930pm is perfectly fine with them and you miss the dinner rush and can really just sit and enjoy your meal! Keep up the good work guys!!!!"

  • "We went here for Valentine's day. I wasn't sure what to expect, but we were quite impressed with the quality. The food was great, and the service was relatively quick for such a busy day. I had the salmon, and my girlfriend had the lamb. Both were cooked perfectly, and the individual ingredients all worked perfectly together. It is a bit on the expensive side, but well worth the money. My only real complaint was that they didn't specify where they sourced their meals. For a "farm to fork" restaurant, I would assume they would boast about the local fare."

  • "We went to Ten 22 during Dine Downtown week and had a very nice experience. Our waitress was friendly and provided us with menus for both the Dine Downtown fixed meals and their regular fair. We ordered from the Dine Downtown menu and were very happy with our food. So happy in fact that we returned for Valentine's Day and had really wonderful service, a perfectly cooked Porter House Steak and a fantastic bottle of wine recommended by the Executive Chef, Chef Jay. Good food and well done friendly service are the two things I look most for in a restaurant."

  • "Great fresh and locally grown (when possible) ingredients, combined in tasty combinations. have been here several times and am rarely disappointed. And on top of the food fit for foodies, the service is very good as well."

  • "Two of our hamburgers were burnt badly to the point it was hard to bite through the outer layer of the patty. Also everyone's French fries were cold and limp. My mothers chicken salad was dry to the point she had to swallow each bite with water to get it down. Its like they boiled the chicken breast or something. My sisters chicken salad was three hole romaine leaves with an ice-cream scooper of chicken plopped in the middle. The fish and chips was like $15.00 and was 5 little nuggets that left you feeling completely hungry. I have never written a negative review before, because I understand bad days, but out of 6 people not ONE person enjoyed their meal.Service was good and the atmosphere was also nice."

  • "i took my gf here for valentines. A coworker recommended me so I decided to give it a shot. The place is really nice and the mood was just right. Not too loud but not too quiet. There was a live band playing really smooth jazz/blues music in the middle of the floor; nora jones type of music. we came a little early to so started out our night with a couple of drinks and an appetizer. appetizer was just okay and the Kiss drink was a little "flat". we were seated, and we had Sauteed Wild Salmon and the new york steak. The Entree was good, we finished all our food. I didn't have much to complain there. I ordered a glass of house wine to compliment my steak and it too was good. overall, we both had a good time."

  • "They are so close to getting it right. The food is almost great, but it is too expensive for it to not be great. Pork Belly was tough, brisket ok but not great. Sweet potatoes hard (maybe they were supposed to be?). Desserts fair. My wedge had a big brown spine and the server had to have noticed this. The lettuce was overall not very fresh appearing."

  • "Booked this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I had been here before with my husband and 7 year old for lunch. After a relaxing day at the spa, this was a great way to top off the day. The food is consistently good. We had the porterhouse steak which was cooked to perfection, MR. The cheese plate was scrumptious complimented with an unforgettable apple butter. My guests had the ooh lala jambalaya and roasted chicken. It's so refreshing to go to a restaurant that is not afraid to season it's food. I'm titling this review surprise me because I asked the bartender to prepare me a special birthday cocktail. She hit the nail on the head with a hint of what my usual cocktail drinks are. Great experience!"

The ambience was wonderful, our server Ally was awesome, and food was phenomenal! We loved the live music as well. We will definitely be returning to Ten22."
