Diner Reviews
  • "The food was OK. And the service was good. You will probably have to Valet becuase parking is at a premium in this area. There wasn't much about my experience that was over the top, and if more people went for lunch, it would probably be better."

  • "Appetizer (fried Ricotta cheese) was a bit on the greasy side but ok. The beef Milanese was disappointing and did not finish - soggy and tasteless. Not what I was expecting. Desert (tres leches) was good. Will not visit again."

  • "I had high expectations for this Argentinian restaurant. Made reservations for 4 online. When seated at our table, only 2 water glasses on table. Waiter with attitude was complete turn-off. Food was ok; not good or great. Will not be returning back. Much better options elsewhere - service and food."

  • "I took my bff here for her birthday - she was visiting from North Carolina - and she loved it. The rib-eye steak was perfectly done, the mango salad refreshing and the empanandas were outstanding. She was left with a great sense of the wonderful food in Houston and I was reaffirmed that this restaurant is still one of my favorites in Houston."

  • "This restuarant is my favorite in Houston! Not only is the food incredible, but it is a total package of food, great wine, service and ambiance. The service is not hovering, but there when you need it. A great place to go for a long, leisurely lunch with friends. A top spot to take business clients. Even when they dine around the world, they will recognize this restaurant for its excellence. This is also a spot that is very female-friendly in its service. All around outstanding!"

  • "Tango & Malbec gave us one product instead of the other, and this is completely unacceptable. I grew up in an area in which Jabali was a common hunting meat, and lambs were frequent, so I am 100% sure of what I am saying. It actually gets worse because these guys knew what they were doing; they first came to the table with the Lamb and said that they had made a mistake. Then they came back saying that the exact same dish was the Jabali. They had time to think about it. It was so obvious that we decided not to make an issue out of it and carried the meal with the rest of the family and stay centered and in peace. This is just not acceptable. Someone should do something about it."

  • "Excellent food, large selection of wines, great appetizers. Pricey, but well worth it. I had the Uruguayan grass fed beef, absolutely melted in my mouth."

  • "We sat with a group of 7 near the kitchen. We all had a great time, the food was wonderful, and they made our birthday celebration that much more special."

  • "Unusual food but very good and quite different. Waiter seemed new and didn't know much about the menu"

  • "Food was amazing...service was average. Although other waiters appeared to be putting on a show."

  • "Made reservations on-line without any snafu's. The steak was excellent and the service was very good even though the place was very crowded. My companion had the seafood brochette which he said was just "OK" compared to other restaurants. I certainly would go back."

  • "After several confirmations that I'm allergic to bell peppers my dish came out with bell peppers. They didn't remake it. They just removed the peppers and brought it back out within "two minutes" the waiter assured and delivered. My spouse was so famished tang we didn't send it back and our dinner guest was almost completely done with his meal. So I starved and ate only the side veggies on my plate and a dessert. I usually luv T&M. But on that night the lazy kitchen caused me to go home VERY hungry. Were it just me I'd have asked for a remake but alas..."

  • "the filet is ALWAYS our choice, excellent. Wished to have ordered my favorite Popeye Salad as well, but was a fixed holiday menu; desserts were lacking! Need dense CHOCOLATE choice minus ice cream!!!!!!"

  • "Had a great dinner at Tango & Malbec. Only had one issue, I asked if the empanadas had egg in them and the waiter stated no. First thing when I bit into it was a big piece of egg. Otherwise the food was good, The service was a little slow but you expect that on valentines day."

  • "Manager was unapproachable and stand offish when I brought and issue to him about being charged for a drink we did not order at the bar, he looked at me like I was crazy and shrugged shoulders"

  • "No hostess available at time of check-in and other staff had no knowledge of Open Table, so I am not sure if we were awarded our points for having dinner there."

  • "This was a very enjoyable evening spent in a lovely restaurant that I will definitely be patronizing again! Please thank the waitstaff for taking such good care of us and being very attentive to our needs!"

  • "Try the flan. It is the best dessert that I have tried in years."
    Dined on 2/1/2014
  • "The food was very good, but the menu seemed very broad which sometimes makes you wonder how they can do that much and do it well. They certainly know seafood! Most impressive to me was the outstanding list of Malbec wines. Services was very good as well."

  • "Always consistent service and food. Highly recommended for all occasions. Robert is the best server."
    Dined on 1/30/2014
  • "Food was good and so was the service. Ask for Robert - he's quite charming and entertaining."

  • "Had excellent wine choices, however, food was fair. The rack of boar was the fattiest and most inedible entrée I have ever eaten. Waiter came by and so did manger and asked how my meal was, and I explained my disappointment. All they did was say they would talk to the chef. They did not fix the problem or seem to care."

  • "We used to live in Buenos Aires and enjoyed the wonderful restaurants there. This restaurant took us back to that time. The provoleta was savory - soft in the middle and crunchy on the edges. Our steaks were cooked to perfection - so tender and flavorful. I had the profiteroles, and my husband had the flan for dessert. Both were delicious. We were entertained with a short Tango."

  • "In general the food and service were great. Perhaps I would recommend to you to add more "asado" and to eliminate the pieces of pork that you included on the "parrillada". You should understand that the typical food from Argentina it's the asado and it the pork."

  • "Excellent South American food prepared traditionally. Good wine selection and good service. This is a favorite of ours in the Galleria area."

  • "I have been there several times with friends and coworkers, but this last visit, I saw a big drop of quality on the service and food. I ordered pork chops with spinach and fried yucca and taste awful (very salt spinach and uncooked pork). I also order my favorite dessert the dulce de leche crepes and came cold and very small portion compare with the size on the past. The meat is not the same quality as make they famous and you can eat much better on the same level steakhouses in town."

  • "Excellent service and food. Good cuts of meats from different parts of the world. Provoleta is a must. Will come back"

  • "Our food seemed inexpensive until we got the bill. Sparkling water was poured without asking if we wanted another bottle. Parts of the chicken brochette were well cooked; other parts dry. The swordfish was overcooked. The empanadas were average. I would not return to the restaurant based on my first visit."

  • "Grilled calamari - yum! Ceviche was not bad. Ribeye and swordfish were okay, mashed potatoes were my favorite part of it though. The 4 leeches cake is great, the flan is very nice too. The service was great, at first I was a bit uncomfortable with the server, but in the end he seemed to care about our dining experience a little more . Probably we'll be back on some kind of special occasion."
