   Both myself and my partner got some stomach issues from our date here, unfortunately. The food tasted great though, and the cocktails were amazing. Our server Rafa was excellent, so knowledgeable and helpful.

   The service was great. Our waitress was checking on us quite often and clearing out our plates pretty quick. The ambiance was very tropical for the outdoor sitting and the indoor sitting was very intimate. The bar looks amazing!

   The service from Donavan was frankly terrible, honestly, the worst i’ve had in my life. My partner and I have both been or are currently servers so we are lenient to most mistakes but this was different. One example would be with such a small menu, if you are out of any particular item, you should let guests know upon greeting but nope, they were out of the sea-bass which again, can’t control being out of it, but to not let us know at all until attempting to order it, is lazy. We ordered an appetizer that not only never got to the table, he put in the wrong one and not once checked in the entire meal to see how things were going through apps, drinks, entree etc. He never made us aware the kitchen was closing(mind you we sat down at 10:20) so we couldn’t order items they did have later on. He ignored and walked past us the entire night(i didn’t even get a second WATER from this man) He claimed to be so forgetful and sorry, but could easily recall all the mistakes he made at the very end, which is pretty ironic and sounds like he truly wasn’t trying until he realized just how terrible he was and tried to save it last minute(he didn’t). He lied about coming back with a complementary round of drinks, as we got one glass of wine on the house that took over 10 minutes to arrive, and then never took off one of the other drinks to remedy the mistake. he frequently said he’d be back in a “couple” minutes, which is not 15. Even trying to close out the bill was a hassle from him. He didn’t even deserve the small tip he got at the end but we understand the job and economy we live in. He did almost ruin our night and most definitely wasted our time, so much so this is the first time im posting a public review. The 15% at the end of the bill($29)was the LEAST he could have done but it didn’t remedy much, this was not just bad service, you have to not care about your job or how guests perceive you to do this badly. even the table next to us said that it was also terrible.

   Starlite did not disappoint, the ambiance was beautiful and the service was incredible. My server Emily was attentive and gave great recommendations. Highly recommend for anyone visiting San Diego!

   We were celebrating an anniversary and the staff made us feel welcomed and celebrated. The food and atmosphere were great! The patio was a perfect location and almost preferred the seating up there.

   We had a great experience at Starlight. Truly a gem. The ambience, the food and the service were all top notch. We went for our anniversary and couldn’t have chosen a better place. It was perfect!

    Our server was great but it took 45 min to get our cocktails. The sea bass was excellent and served in a delicious sauce.
