  • "This was my first time in this restaurant and, unfortunately, I think it was the first time for the server too! Seemed like a nice guy, but to say that he was uninformed about the menu (or even being a server) is an understatement. I was very surprised that a restaurant like this would send a server out without ANY basic knowledge of the menu or training on simple service steps. The guy had absolutely no clue how to answer any of our basic questions and acted like a deer in the headlights when asked. It was very strange. - The food, however, was good. But, the service really put a damper on the whole experience. We left without ordering dessert because we had enough. I don't blame the server here, this seems to be a management issue. "

  • "We have spent most of our special occasions at Spark for the past 3-4 years. This was our anniversary visit and once again the food and device were over the top. Highly recommend the steaks and the martinis. Can't beat sitting on the outdoor balcony and looking at the beach and pier. Had such a great dinner we booked Easter Sunday Brunch before we left."

  • "I'd walked by this place dozens of times; always wanting to try it but never quite making it in. Went during restaurant week, and glad I finally did. Food was fantastic, and everything cam out quickly. Service was attentive, but unobtrusive. Ambiance was great. While I was there for dinner, I imagine the views make for a great lunch spot. They have an outdoor dining area that overlooks the Huntington Beach pier. As for the food itself, I had the garlic shrimp appetizer, followed by the short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans sautéed in shallots. Both were excellent. Ended with the bread pudding for dessert; a little dry for my taste; I prefer a more custardy texture, but still delish."

  • "It seems that, like most restaurants that try to make a go of it at the HB pier, the food quality continues to decline. It's unfortunate because there are so few good restaurants remaining. Dukes seems to do well but the others just seem to slip further and further down. I ordered the pork chop cooked medium - the price was around $23 - $25 without a salad. What I got was a small, tough piece of meat that was way over cooked. The restaurant wasn't busy. The service was prompt - but I get tired of having to return food at a place that charges $25 for a pork chop and $10 for a lettuce wedge salad."

  • "We live in Huntington Beach and have dinner at Sparks about once a month. The location is terrific, on the corner of Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway. From the restaurant's indoor/outdoor balcony, you have a stunning view ocean view. There are overhead heaters on the balcony, so you can dine outside almost 365-days a year! The food is reliably good and the service is always exceptional. The restaurant has a back room often used for larger private parties. Noise level is never bad. I'd recommend the restaurant for a romantic sunset snack (wine and appetizers on the balcony), or a complete dinner. It's great for lunch too!"

The food was good, not amazing, and my steak was very fatty and chewy. The views are amazing and validated parking is easy downstairs in the parkade.   • "It was our 25th Anniversary in New Years Eve, the waitress was not friendly, very rude when asking about the menu not even a offer of dessert as a complement for the 25th wedding anniversary. It was disappointed, we try the artichokes appetizer, there were kind burn and not enough to heart pulp to even for a bite. The steak was tough."

  • "We happened upon Sparks on 4th of July about 6 years ago while visiting S.California from Indiana. We been back to the west coast a few times since then and each time we have to include Sparks into our trip. The view is amazing, the food is delicious, and the best part is the consistency. My daughters favorite is the Honey Peppered Atlantic Salmon... I personally could have had an entire meal of the corn chowder!"

We like dining out on the patio and it is especially nice when the fire pit is lit. We are downtown quite a bit since I work there with the public as a local photographer. We always recommend Spark to the travelers we meet for a classy, quiet dining experience that is different than most of the other restaurants in downtown H.B, always putting emphases on the martini list and great food."

  • "I live in HB and it seems every year I want to give this restaurant a chance. The location is great but that's it, nothing else. I should have known when I got there on a Friday night and the restaurant was only 25% full when all other restaurants in the area have a wait. I got the Chef's grill special, with a mini filet, one super small shrimp, terrible margarita and more. All 4 of us were disappointed and after leaving with a $200+ bill made it worse. I fine dine all the time and with this location I keep hoping this restaurant will step up. Rest assured, never a wait!"
