Food was okay but not great. Pizza was burned and forbidden rice was mush and broccolini was extremely salty.

The atmosphere was nice, I sat outside. Live music on the speakers and people talking, along with a roads all around the restaurant make for a pretty noisy dining experience, but it wasn't annoying or obnoxious - just not quiet. My server was amazing (julie(a)?) - she knew what was in everything! I ordered the shrimp & mushroom pot stickers, garlic truffle fries and the bulgogi pork tacos. The fries were great. Just, like all fries, they're only good hot and only good once. The pot stickers - were pretty good, I don't know if I'd order them again, but they were good. The horseradish/mustard dipping sauce with them was interesting. Definitely cleansed my palate - i have no idea if that's the point, or if it's just a preferred dipping sauce for these potstickers because there was also a teriyaki kind of sauce dripped all over them, the horse radish sauce and also a sauce that reminds me of chili-lime garlic sauce *this was the better one. The tacos were great, just a very strong soy sauce after taste... which i don't mind, i like soy sauce... but some people don't? I tried the strawberry cream pie, too. That was DELICIOUS. I wish there were more fresh strawberry slices on top, but damn, that was good. I also got a mushroom and truffle oil pizza & brought it home to eat tonight - so we'll see?

Can be noisy inside. Pick an outside table. Fish in the fish & chips was overdone, too crispy. Wasn’t sure about the dark parts of the fish. Strawberry pie Ok. Very good mango sorbet.

We come here every time we’re in Wailea. We’d just been to Monkeypod on Easter Sunday for what we’d hope was brunch but it turned out it was the same lunch menu. No matter the food was good. We returned to celebrated my husband’s bday last night. Started out good. Good cocktails warm service. Had a few appetizers and a salad to start. Then the mains came. Seared Ahi solid as usual. Poke tacos were decent. Then the special fish of the evening sea bass with shrimp came. The fish was obviously burnt and they sat it in front of me anyway. When the waitress saw it she noticed it immediately and took it away for a fresh plate. We appreciated the swiftness to rectify the error but it should not have left the kitchen in that state. Please have someone inspect all plates leaving the kitchen to I sure they are presentable. I also don’t know why they ask on open table if it’s a special occasion as absolutely no mention by anyone though we heard happy birthday sung at other tables. It’s in the details. Still a good restaurant but it you want to be elevated a little please pay more attention.

Aloha, Mahalo for sharing your experience with us. We're really sorry to hear about the sea bass situation — that’s definitely not the standard we aim for, and we truly appreciate you pointing it out. We’re glad the team took quick action to fix it, but we’ll make sure to keep a closer eye on presentation moving forward. As for the special occasion details, we’re sorry that was overlooked, and we’ll be sure to be more mindful of those little touches in the future. We love having you as a guest, and we’ll work hard to make your next visit even better. Mahalo, Danny Uriostegui Monkeypod Kitchen Restaurant Manager

We reserved a table for three at 8:45 pm with no issues at all! We were quickly seated and greeted by Shay who took amazing care of us! I think service and food is what makes a restaurant and I was so happy with both! We ordered the famous Mai tai with the foam topping and it was very good! We also got the poke tacos and Parmesan truffle fries with the garlic aioli and we ended up getting a second order of the tacos because we couldn’t stop! For entrees the table ordered fish and chips, the ribeye steak and the mixed green salad with chicken, we were all very happy with the meal! The compound butter on the steak was heavenly, the salad had the perfect taste combo with the beets and bacon, and the fish and chips were standard, nothing mind blowing but definitely no complaints either! We may be back just to see Shay again, it was a great experience!

Love that you had to double up on the poke tacos too — Hope we get to welcome you back again soon for another round of good eats, good vibes, and even better company!
