Perfectly aged steaks, one of the largest wine collections in the world, and an internationally famous dessert room. These elements have combined since 1956 to provide guests with a unique culinary experience. Prime steaks are cut to order, vegetables are grown locally on the Bern’s farm when available and sourced from the finest purveyors, and the menu includes 20 choices of caviar. They charge a 12% service fee and it is not a tip. The dessert room rushed the moment we got up there and the brownie was hard as a rock. The server was rushing us

Hostesses seemed inflexible with seating choice. Our waiter Matt was outstanding and made our dinner a great occasion. Will ask for him next time.

We always relish a trip to Bern's. We visit once, maybe twice a year. It's a wonderful reason to get gussied up and enjoy a truly decadent, multi-hour experience. My spouse and I have eaten at each of the fancier steakhouses around Tampa. Bern's is the best value for money since your side dishes (soup, potato, vegetable, and fried onions) come with your meal. Of course, there are other items to choose for additional cost, but the focus of the meal is the steak, so it's where your attention is. This visit I enjoyed the twice aged strip steak marinated in stilton. It was divine. The other great part about Bern's is that no one is rushing you. We sat for our reservation on time, 7PM, and we didn't leave the Dessert Room until 10:30PM. We get to really enjoy our time together and the food we choose. It can be an expensive night out, but it's worth it, and is such a lovely place to make memories.

Waitress was top notch. Drinks were great. The halibut was delicious but they failed on the steak which was a little rubbery and hard to chew. Super disappointing because every other part of the meal was lovely.

The restaurant and food was amazing. A wonderful way to spend our anniversary. Enjoyed the wine tour and absolutely loved the dessert room!

If you want an experience this is it. It’s difficult to snag a reso but don’t give up. It’s worth the wait/trouble. The food is great. The steaks come with apps and sides which is very rare when dealing with high quality steakhouses these days. Afterwards they take your for a kitchen/wine cellar tour and then to the dessert room. You just can’t beat this place. We are happy to make the trek from Orlando to eat here on special occasions.

Treated my husband to dinner for Father’s Day. My 9 oz chateaubriand was not cooked to my standards. Asked for medium but outside was crispy tough stringy and over done. The inside medium to rare. Sides were just average. Salad dressings were delicious salad greens were wet before dressing them which made the dressing watery. The Dessert room was overcrowded with people standing in the narrow hallway near the stair case waiting for a table. The railing is much too low for safety. We are very tall and if pushing and shoving would occur due to a fire we could have gone backwards over that railing. The crowded hallway of people presented a fire hazard. Hostess was much to slow seating everyone with dozens of empty tables in plain view. The pianist played the piano much too loud and would stop between songs and just stare ahead. He would stop playing answer the phone every 30-40 seconds with a very loud hello hello it was quite hilarious. But after awhile very annoying! Bern’s is no longer the place it was. Our empty wine glasses were left on the table downstairs after asking if we wanted another $28 dollar glass’s of wine and we said no we were not going to order another. Our Waiter walked away and other wait staff passed our table and walked away with one glass on her tray. Poor teamwork and training. Someone please train the staff to clean the table of crumbs, clear the stemware and silverware with each course. Everyone we spoke to upstairs was afraid to tell the pianist he was playing much too loud but admitted he’s had many complaints about this. People were holding their ears. I would address this asap. Not sure we will ever return after dining at Bern’s for 28 years. Not worth it when there are so many new fine dining restaurants in Tampa.

My wife and I have been going to Bern's for over 40 years and we are never disappointed with the quality of the meal, or service or the overall dining experience. We especially enjoy the kitchen and wine cellar tours. And we would never miss having dessert in one the upstairs dessert rooms. Most of our visits include friends , and/or family and we have never heard a negative comment from any of them regarding the Bern's experience. Unfortunately, we live about 80 miles from Bern's in central Florida and aren't able to enjoy the Bern's dining experience as much as we would like. But, if you are within a reasonable driving distance we would highly recommend a visit to Bern's the next time your in the mood for a fine dining experience.
