   Not sure if this was a one-off day, but while the food was very good - the delay to receive our entrees was over an hour. Fortunately, the ambience offset the wait. Hopefully it will be better next time.

   Despite holding a reservation, we experienced a substantial delay in being seated, followed by an extended wait for the main course. We were then asked to vacate the table shortly after being served. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that raises questions about the restaurant’s Michelin star designation.

   Our server was AMAZING - she told us how she’s been there since the beginning, and she made it a very special experience. Fun seeing celebrity clientele. Will be back!

   Everything was great except it took us a long time to get our dessert and then a long time after to get our check. Waiter did apologize

   We celebrated our 29th anniversary at The Village Pub! From the moment we stepped inside, we were treated to wonderful hospitality. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary, and we received complimentary glasses of champagne. That was a special touch that started the evening on a fun note. We ordered the red snapper crudo and the seared scallops for our first course. Both were delicious. I couldn’t decide which one I liked more. One was tangy and light. The other was rich and creamy. Both paired nicely with the half-bottle of Graves, Ch. Graville Lacoste 2021. For our mains, we had the duck and the lamb. I think the duck was outstanding. The lamb was a little underwhelming compared to the duck. We paired both of those dishes with a special 1996 Bordeaux that we brought from home. The sommeliers and staff were wonderful at providing the perfect pace of serving food and drinks. They were fun to banter with. They gave us great tips for what to order and made the experience truly one that we will remember fondly. The restaurant vibe was fancy for a special occasion, but not stuffy and pretentious. I hope to return next year for our 30th!

    I don’t believe there is a better restaurant for a special occasion in the Bay Area. And if you get lucky enough to have Melody as your server, you are guaranteed to have a beautifully orchestrated dining experience!
