It's a great concept and a great menu. I rarely get to enjoy items on the menu as the weekly specials are always enticing. I always the enjoy the flatbreads as well as the desserts. The lamb t-bone chops were amazing and I would happily order them again. Overall, I rate this as a 5 out of 5 for Contemporary American restaurants in the KC area. Rarely have we had a more professional wait staff and attention to details when dining out than we had on this occasion. We were given the perfect table for our comfort and privacy, and the atmosphere was casual and fun. There were six of us and we all enjoyed our delicious entrees, cocktails, wine, and desserts and coffee. I was not disappointed. We had a nice cozy booth for dinner. There was a "piano man" in the bar, singing during dinner. I am a vegetarian and loved the vegetarian tasting plate. I had the maple pecan something or other. It was also delicious. I had the Pesto Chicken flatbread and my friend had the Crab Salad and enjoyed them immensely. The only negative was that our server was not attentive and was also a bit brusque when she did stop by the table to be reminded to bring us something we had ordered and again when we requested the check. I've dined here before for dinner and found that the service was great. Perhaps our server was new. All the staff with whom we came in contact were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is beautiful. Our service was excellent and the food was very good. Each of us had something different: the trout, the grilled garlic shrimp, penne with shrimp and the scallops. The Kansas City Plaza location, however, is outstanding - beautiful setting, attentive, knowledgeable staff, and excellent food. We had made reservations ahead and I had noted that we were celebrating a work colleague's birthday. We were seated promptly in a comfortable booth. Gabriella was our server and she was quick to the table and had the most pleasant & professional demeanor. She explained the specials, answered all our questions, made dining choice suggestions & even asked if we had any time contraints so she could let the kitchen know. There were 3 people in our party and we were all thrilled with our choices. One co-worker even asked Gabby if it was true that everything on the menu was under 475 calories and she assured us it was. There are four menus a year for each season, we were told by our waitress, Savanna. They are just into their spring menu. Each entry is 475 calories or less. My husband had steak and I had the planked salmon, both of which were very good. Atmosphere is friendly and cozy. Savanna is the best waitress we have had in a very long time.
