Diner Reviews
  • "Our favorite place in Denver for great food. Always something new, and we trust the owner/chef to prepare everything perfectly."

  • "Tonight we did the early bird special which gives you plenty to eat. The salad with the Dijon Ranch dressing is always tasty. I had the sole with artichokes and feta cheese--superb! My husband had the shrimp linguine. My sides included red cabbage, red rice and yummy cooked greens. The combination of flavor seas the best"

  • "We just decided to do a Monday birthday dinner and as always the food was great. There was a wonderful Mahi special but my wife doesn't care for Mahi. She ask if Chef Robert could use the same preparation for Sole and there was no hesitation, "of course we can." A simply wonderful experience."

  • "Brought a friend for a birthday dinner, and it was great. We were seated promptly and our server, Pamela, was a gem. She knew the menu backward and forward and recommended some good wines. A huge selection is available by the glass or even half-glass, if you only want a little more to finish your dinner. I had the duck (for a change) and my friend had the shrimp linguini. Both were delicious. I'm trying to work my way through the menu to try different items, but I have to say for the appetizer, do try the artichoke hearts in cream sauce, they are KILLER. The only downside is when they are busy, it gets a little noisy and hard to hear your dinner companion. But, don't let that stop you, come early!"

  • "We enjoyed another great meal at Sansone's Bistro. We tend to go there about four times a year, but pledged we would go more often. As usual, our entrees were very good, however, the green side salad that comes with the entree was nothing special - bagged greens, I think. This is a neighborhood gem, so the room is small, but cozy. It's nice that the chef, Mr. Sansone, makes it a point to come out of the kitchen and walk through the room, checking to ensure everyone is enjoying their meal. We like this restaurant very much and will continue enjoying it."

  • "This was our second time dining at Sansone's and it was as good as the first! We went during restaurant week and knew that we wanted to return during a less hectic time. It was wonderful. My husband had the veal chop and I had the Pork Wellington (specials that night), both done to perfection. Jessica, our server, was constantly checking to make sure everything was to our liking, and of course, Robert, the owner and chef, stopped by to see how we liked our meal. Had a wonderful bottle of wine and a very relaxing and enjoyable evening. We will be back!"

  • "The food was excellent, better than anytime before. The service was great, would definitely return. We had artichoke hearts for appetizer and it was greater than great. I had a Halibut with a lemon sauce that was also amazingly good."

  • "The first time we were there everything was excellent. The next two times were not great. Very loud and the food was just Ok. Probably will take it off the list going forward. Why do they take open table reservations BUT NOT GIVE CREDITS?"

  • "My wife and I went to Sansone based on past reviews. When we got there, we were a bit suprise to find out that we were the only ones in the resutaurant under 55 years old the the restaurant was half full. This place seems to be very popular with the older folks from the neighborhood. Overall, the food was good. Nothing to die for, but it was solid. The waiter was attentive and offered options. I do not know if we would go back there again because we felt like a bit out of place being in our 30s and the rest of the folks were in their late 50s."

  • "A very pleasant bistro with a limited but interesting menu and very reasonable price. This is our fourth visit over a couple of years and the quality maintains or improves. We were delighted to meet Robert, the chef/owner, this visit"

  • "The building that houses Sansone's Bistro has been around a long time! (The old Torinos and Chez Walter location.) My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised by the amazing food served HOT and flavorful. Our server was fantastic too, around when we needed her and left us alone when we were fine. The owners made their rounds and were appreciative of the business. We will be back!"

  • "The food was excellent. This is a chef who really knows how to cook. Small and intimate restaurant with good ambience. And a pleasant surprise you can actually hear the people across the table."

  • "We took our guests to our favorite restaurant - Sansone's. They were very impressed. They had spent the past 2 months in Calif., and had dined at some of the finest restaurants in the Santa Barbara and Palm Springs areas, but they said Sansone's was better than any of the others. My sister-in-law thought the Chicken Anjou entrée was superb!! We have always been so pleased with the food and service at Sansone's and never hesitate to recommend it to others!"

  • "My wife and I visited Sansone's Bistro for Restaurant Week. We will be back!! The friendly and attentive service started when we walked in the door. Because of the delicious meal we had from the limited Restaurant Week menu, we are excited to return and try many of the items on their regular menu. We had the lamb shank and the veal schnitzel. Both were fabulously prepared. I'm not a big fan of Brussel sprouts, but these were so good, I actually finished them!! The wine selection was varied and we each enjoyed our picks from the by the glass wine list. And then dessert came… YUM!!"

  • "We had reservations for 7pm for two. We waited in a tiny "holding area" and watched as walk ins were seated before us. Our table was right by the entrance to the kitchen and waiters station making it very busy. Since it is a bistro, it was very small inside and the tables were cramped together. The food was very good, but not very unique to the spot. I did like that they offered an option for a half plate to cater to those that don't want a large meal. Prices are probably reasonable and halved for the half entree's. The hall to the bathrooms reminded me of those found on military ships...very narrow!"

  • "I had driven by Sansone's for a couple of years without knowing what it was. We tried it during restaurant week and loved it. The food was great. The chef/owner brought some if the food out and told us more about the menu and his favorites. We will definitely be back."

  • "I went to this restaurant with a friend who has been there many times before. It is really lovely to have the owners come around and greet you and to make sure your dining experience is what you would like it t be. Bravo & Brava! I will come back to enjoy their well prepared food."

  • "Hard to find good German food in Denver. Schnitzel here excellent and large portions."
    Dined on 2/26/2014
  • "Went there during restaurant week, many selections to choose from, where most places give you two dishes to choose from. Tasty, fresh and prepared well, I would return! (Especially to try out their eggplant pram)"

  • "Sansone's food is better than many higher profile restaurants. I have yet to be disappointed and will continue to share the news about this place with others."

  • "Getting tired of the dining scene in Cherry Creek North, we ventured 30 minutes to this gem in Greenwood Village. A wonderful menu of great variety from lobster ravioli to Wiener schnitzel , all of our four entrees were delicious. The service was friendly and spot on. The place was packed when we were there so that says a lot!"
    Dined on 2/26/2014
  • "The appetizers were very small. The weinersnitzel was okay but the potatoes that came with it were not hot and were mushy and not that good. The dessert was okay, not exactly outstanding. I expected better , especially during restaurant week.,,,,I did like the general ambience of the restaurant, but I don't think it was worth the money."

  • "We realized we found this gem of a place 2 years ago during restaurant week. We started with the sausage stuffed mushrooms--excited seasonings and yummy on the palette. Then we both had the pork confit--wow! The pork fell onto the fork and melted in the mouth. The sides with the dish complimented the pork. I had the chocolate mousse---gluten-free of course--rich and very chocolate tasting. My husband had the kruegel, which he said was outstanding. Oh that we could come everyday to this place for dinner!"

  • "We chose Sansone's for restaurant week. Everyone loved the spinach appetizer, lemon chicken and mocha trifle. The lamb was also very good. Service was excellent. Even though they had a full house in this small venue, we did not feel rushed. We will definitely be back."

  • "We dined at Sansone's Bistro for restaurant week. The food was decent, but uneventful. If we lived in the neighborhood, we'd be back, but it's not worth driving across town. Service was very good."

  • "Very small restaurant but the menu packs a punch. For an unusual menu, with loads of variety and excellent wine list, this is definitely worth a try. The fried spinach appetizer is fabulous! Leave room for dessert!"

  • "My husband and I decided to try Sansone's Bistro during Restaurant Week because we had never been there and I have a friend who swears by the place. We were NOT disappointed! From the friendly greeting when we walked in the door, to the bartender while we waited for our table, to Jessica, our server, the experience was outstanding. The food was delicious and the pacing was perfect, even for a busy night. Couldn't have been happier. The owner, Robert Sansone, stopped by our table to introduce himself and personally thank us for coming! How often do you see that??? I highly recommend this restaurant - you won't be disappointed!"

  • "Definitely a neighborhood gem. We drive from southeast Aurora for this restaurant. Owners are friendly and follow up with all patrons to see how patrons liked the food. Try the ravioli. FANTASTIC!"

  • "We had dinner here for Valentines Day. They had a special menu for the evening and reservations were required. We arrived a little early and were greeted immediately when we walked in. We were escorted to the bar area until our table was available. They were able to seat us a little bit earlier then our reservation. The waitress was personable and enhanced our dining experience. The food choices were limited since it was a 3 course special menu, but the choices were excellent. The food was excellent and the chef came out while we were having desert to thank us for coming and make sure our experience was top notch. We plan on coming back."

  • "The portions were very small for the price (3-4 oz of meat per entree, 2 small spears of broccoli, etc.) . They food was well seasoned and cooked to order. At nearly 40 we were by far the youngest people there and it was so quiet it was a bit uncomfortable. The service was adequate and they were very nice. However, they came and took (or tried to take) all four courses before we were done. Seriously, I have a bite of steak left or my husband has a bite of dessert left (when there were only 4 to begin with) and you're pushing us out the door (not even busy). They even brought the check WITH our dessert. For $120 for 2 I expect to enjoy my meal at my own pace. Even pushing back we were in and out in an hour fifteen. Disappointed."

  • "The food at Sansone's is always awesome! You can't go wrong with whatever you order. This is a small neighborhood place that only has maybe 20 tables. You usually get a personal visit from Chef Robert as you are eating your meal, which makes it very special."
