Diner Reviews
  • "Wonderful birthday dinner for my teenage daughter! Lobster crab rolls amazing, scallops delicious! Highly recommend!"

  • "Close to both Disneyland and the convention center, you would expect high prices and servers who treat you as though they will not see you again. Both of these things were true, but we still had a pretty good meal, and the cost while high, was not crazy. Given the choices in the area (IHOP, Bubba Gump, etc.) it seemed to be about the best choice."

  • "Roy's was a great experience for those looking for a classy place to take people from the Anaheim Convention Center. The food was expertly prepared and the staff courteous. Service was a little slow especially in getting the check but every table was packed with large groups. Overall a great culinary experience and I would go back during another conference."

  • "We had eaten at the original Roy's in Hawaii many years ago and found it noisy and crowded and the service spotty. We felt rushed and weren't impressed with the food. After being given a gift certificate recently, we tried the Roy's in Anaheim and fell in love with it! The service was over the top (in a good way!), the food scrumptious and healthy, and we enjoyed every minute. This is definitely a place we will return to again and again!"

  • "Love, love this location more than the Newport beach one {sorry nb}. Always, came here for happy hour menu and drinks, but for the first time ate off the regular dinner menu. To be completely honest, I prefer the happy hour menu food over the salmon dish I ordered. My boyfriend and I ordered the macadamia nut pie with carmel that was tasty. I would come here again for the staff, which goes far and beyond what other restaurants do."

  • "Great dining starts with great service. Attention to detail! Food was very good and lives up to its name."

  • "My family expected great food for the price paid. It turned out that the best item we tried that night was the Lakanilau Roll. The other items we tried was just so-so. One of my sons commented that for the price we paid we could have been happier with the food at Ruth's Chris. We did find the hosts very friendly and the waiters attentive."

  • "The Good: Service was excellent. The chocolate souffle was fantastic. The Not-so-Good: The meal I ordered (Medium Rare Prime Rib) was incredibly tough and fatty. Everything is a bit overpriced for what you're getting. Conclusion: All in all, I really enjoyed our server and plan to return for dessert for another special occasion. If I come back for dinner, I think seafood is the way to go."

  • "We went our anniversary and the wait staff bent over backwards to wish us a happy anniversary and make sure our night was perfect. The food was impecable and I had a signature drink called 1988 that was delicious! And, of course I had to have the chocolate lava cake. I cannot go to Roy's without getting that!"

  • "Place is great!!! I took my aunt here who was visiting from Texas, and she had a fab time. The host and everyone was very friendly and had great/awesome customer service skills!!! The food was awesome as well, i highly recommend the ahi poke, and the roasted macadamia mahi mahii."

  • "I received a flyer for a Monday Prix Fix promotion 2 WEEKS before I went to the restaurant on Monday, but when we ordered, we were told that the special was no longer honored. Next when we were leaving the parking lot, we were charged $3:00 for parking because the restaurant only validates for ONE HOUR of parking, the parking lot gives one hour parking and we parked 2 hours and 10 minutes. It is rediculous that the restaurant feels that one can park your car, order and complete your dinner, drinks and dessert with a group and return to your car within the 2 hour time period. Thus for these reasons, I would not recommend the restaurant unless one calls ahead to confirm if promotions are valid and they provide reasonable parking time."

  • "Service was horrible!! The place is crowded since it's right by Disneyland. They probably aren't looking for repeat customers so they do the bare minimum, taking our order and serving. We ordered champaign and the waitress left the bottle in the middle of the table after pouring a few glasses. I asked for ice bucket and some other server brought it but I ended up getting up to refill the glasses. Food was meeeh. It's not bad but very salty. Our bill came out to about $400! Overall I don't recommend this particular location."

  • "Roy's Hawaiian Fusion is an incredible place to enjoy a wonderful meal. It has a great atmosphere with good ambience to compliment. The service was impeccable and the food could not have been better. I tried a new menu item “The Lobster Pot Pie” and I sincerely hope they keep it. It was worth every penny. If you have a chance to enjoy a meal at Roy’s, DO NOT pass it up!"

  • "Service was a bit slow. Waitress was really friendly and made great recommendations but we were constantly waiting a long time in between courses."

  • "I dined at Roy's with a few of my friends on March 7th. The service we received from Amy was top notch. She is always helpful in helping us get the best wine with our food. Whenever we are in Anaheim, we go to Roy's and make sure Amy is our waitress."

  • "The food was great and menu with fantastic offerings made it hard to choose - so glad I was with people who like to share. Everything had a great flavor flair or a twist on the norm, from drinks to salads to mains to dessert. I will return and treat this as a go to spot for taking customers when I am in Anaheim."

  • "Had our very young kids (1 and 3) with us on a few-night visit to Anaheim. After a long day at Disneyland, we found Roy's via a search online. I made a reservation for six (us four, my wife's Aunt, and her friend). The four of us arrived promptly and were seated immediately. As it turned out, we had a wait for my wife's Aunt due to traffic. Normally, we would have 2 very feisty kids on our hands and a lot of angry diners around us. But not tonight! The waiter had pre-ordered up two plates of finger food (veggies and some quesadillas) for the kids, and that kept them at bay until the main courses arrived. Oops, gotta keep this short. Overall, great food, amazing service and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will be back again!"

  • "Called to get a reservation but booked until 845. Got a reservation online for 830. Arrived early & the restaurant didn't seem too busy. Plenty of open tables, but I guess they have their own system. Waited a little longer than I would have liked to be seated due to seeing the empty tables, but as stated before, we arrived early & were seated early. Waiter was very concise & to the point. Obviously knew what he was doing, but couldn't be described as friendly. Gentleman bussing and setting up the tables was very helpful. Got us chopsticks, replaced my napkin when it fell, boxed our food, etc. Calamari was good. Pork belly dim sum not so much. Duck was tasty. Halibut overcooked. Desserts had its good and bad side."

  • "I visited with my wife for the first time and could not have been more impressed with the service, quality and uniqueness if the food or the value. I dined again a fee days later with work colleagues and they all raved about the food as well."

  • "We eat here every year while attending a convention. For the last two years we have been fortunate to have Amy as our server. Quite possibly the finest server I have ever seen - just the right balance of attention, knowledge and knowing when to let the party simply enjoy themselves. The food, as always, was incredible. Please eat the butterfish if you've never had this dish - Alaskan black cod. Sushi appetizers were amazing and the meal was capped off with shared desserts. Just a great, unrushed dining experience. We will be back!"

  • "I have been to Roy's Anaheim several times over the years and always enjoyed both the service and the food. This time, however, I noticed a decline both in the food and service. It has been a while - over a year - since my last visit and I noticed a huge change. What gives?"

  • "The two of us got an unexpected night out, so decided on one of our favorite places to go, Roy's! We started with 2 appetizer rolls, the Lakanilau roll is mind blowingly delicious! Hits all the notes, sweet, sour, spicy and YUM!!! We decided to skip dinner altogether, and got one more roll, the Ebi roll, with tempura shrimp inside, also wonderful, and their amazing Calamari. After that, we only had room for dessert, so first came the Macadamia nut tart, oh so yummy. We followed that up with the undeniably delicious melting Chocolate soufflé. All in all, a fun and fantastic feast, with wonderful service to boot."

  • "This is our go-to place for birhdays, anniversaries and when we simply want a great meal. The winter Prix Fixe was outstanding! Absolutely loved the Lobster Bisque with Thai Basil and Lemon Grass elements. And the Osso Buco was heavenly. We typically order fish when dinning here, but this time decided to go the carnivore route. Our server Amy is part of the reason Roy's Anaheim never disappoints ... She's very knowledgeable and since we dine there frequently, she knows our tastes which makes her recommendations spot on. I can't say enough great things! Except "you gotta try it". Have dinner, or Aloha Hour ... There is something for everyone."

  • "We visited Roy's while in town for the NAMM convention and were pleasantly surprised by this gem. Polynesian was a new culinary experience for us and we loved everything we ordered from the Lobster Potstickers to the Mahi to the Steak. I would definitely visit again!"

  • "Great service. Our server was extremely attentive and very knowledgable about the menu. Was willing to make recommendations and was spot on. Food was terrific. Our server's name was Amy. Am from the Northeast where there are not any Roy's close by. Always try to stop in when I am out West."

  • "$35 Halibut special was overcooked and dry - had hardly any sauce on it. Lobster potstickers were overcooked - hard in the middle. Wine was overpriced. Service is corporate style."

  • "If you don't expect fine dining near Disneyland, you will not be disappointed. Service, however, was very good. As we went before 6 PM for dinner, noise level was moderate which was a welcome relief from the usual noisy environment found in most restaurants."

  • "I ordered the butterfish I was disappointed it was way too fishy it smells very fishy too. And this is their popular dish. I've had the same dish in Hawaii and SF location and they always tasted phenomenal. I was so excited too, but greatly disappointed on my meal. The lobster potsticker taste like regular pork potsticker. I did enjoy the peach Bellini martini and the shake (salmon) nigiri. If I'm in the area I will consider going back here for Happy Hour that's about it."

  • "We came for an early dinner before the Eagles opening concert at the Forum. When we arrived I realized I had left my tickets at home, but someone there could FAX them to me if they could be received. The manager was wonderfully nice to provide their business fax number and say he could receive the copies while we enjoyed a nice dinner. The wine came immediately and then we enjoyed the Misoyaki Butterfish and the Barramundi which were cooked to perfection. A wonderful dinner despite a stress filled start!"

  • "First I think the prices are ok , Not the cheapest but still within the range , Ambience was good , So I would say that if you will be coming to Roys for good foods probably you may want to reconsider , But if you dont care about the foods and prefer more of the ambience then this is a palce for you"

  • "Mediocre food, mediocre service, and overpriced. Safe "fusion" cuisine for the masses, at a price that exceeds it's quality and service. Was very disappointed. There are many other restaurants where chef-driven cuisine provides an innovative dining experience with caring wait staff and knowledgable bar staff and sommeliers, at better price points, that can easily be found on Yelp that is a much more satisfying experience than what Roys had become. We had 3 appetizers, shared an entree, and dessert. The ahi appetizer was great, the pork and Gouda Mac n cheese was still just Mac n cheese, with scant pork whose flavor was overpowered by the cheese, and an extremely disappointing beef short rib Bi Bim Bap that had absolutely no crispness ."
