This time I had the salmon and it was so delicious. I'm sure my friend was tired of hearing it every time I took a bite! She ordered the perch dish and loved the perch but was disappointed in the cole slaw. Also, it just seems like perch should have french fries with it, seems like a given. But these didn't.
We enjoyed sitting at the bar for a pre-dinner delicious cocktails. The atmosphere was lovely, warm and elegant. When I decorate my home, I find that I choose the things with a RL label. It was not a surprise that when I looked for the perfect setting for a supper in the city, I found it at the RL restaurant. It was very loud and crowded however the food made up for this. The food portions were very large and extremely delicious. I had the Red Barn Turkey burger and it was ok, not fantastic! But, my friend had the reuben, and it was amazing! Very generous with the corned beef! My other friend was in the mood for comfort food and ordered the grilled cheese with tomatoe soup and said it was amazin! I loved the decor, very Ralph! Service was very good, when asked if they could take our picture, they were very, very accommodating! I returned for dinner as I had eaten there at lunch time and been so well looked after. As I was on my own this was important. The food is wonderful. Lunch was a simple but delicious Tuna Nicoise with seared tuna and quails eggs insted of the usual hard boiled egg. At dinner I had the Crab Louis followed by the seafood Pasta - pappardelle with crab, lobster and scallops Ina delicious cream truffle sauce. The flavours were perfectly balanced and the glass of Chablis went perfectly. It was apparent that many of the diners were regular customers which is always a good sign. RL exceeded them. What was most enjoyable besides wonderful food and very nice and attentive staff, was how nicely paced the food delivery was. We were not rushed. We ordered drinks and apetizer...Foie Gras. After that came we were asked about our entre order. We were not the only couples celebrating anniversaries. Behind us were two couples celebrating their 35th.
