Serving Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Brunch, Restaurant R’evolution is the first joint venture of award-winning chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto, offering modern,imaginative reinterpretations of classic Cajun and Creole cuisine. Steeped in the diverse historic and cultural influences of Louisiana, the menu features not only the chefs’ interpretations of New Orleans classics such as gumbo, po’ boys, and beignets, but also new creations highlighting ingredients from what Chef Folse refers to as “the swamp floor pantry.” Tableside service components play an important role in the dining experience, promoting guest engagement about the history and evolution of the food they are enjoying.Soups such as Creole Louisiana Snapping Turtle Soup and Death by Gumbo play on unusual presentations of these traditional dishes that date back centuries.   • "My family's travels tend to be very foodcentric. We value dining as an entire experience and we really appreciate the effort and orchestration fine dining requires. Our service team included Anthony, Rain and Eranisha. I am not overstating it when I say they delivered better care to us than what most critically ill ICU patients receive. This team could anticipate your needs (and meet them too!). Every aspect of our meal was exquisite! I cannot stop obsessing over the foie gras and sweetbreads. And the dessert...and the wine!!! Just an incredible experience at the hands of true professionals. Perfection looks like R'evolution. They are the standard against which we will judge other restaurants."

  • "Food was good, but nothing on the menu was new, creative or inspiring as I have found in other local restaurants lately. Service was good, but I found it odd that the waiter told us he had to chill our wine down before it could be served (?). We were served the wine after our first course. I didn't like the fact that some customers in the dining room were in shorts, and flip flops. The website clearly states no shorts, caps or flip flops. For the price I was not impressed."

When did t-shirts, flip flops and shorts become acceptable dress for any restaurant of this quality? Patrons who want to dress like slobs should stick to McDonald's or Applebees !"

  • "My wife and I went dined here for our 1st anniversary and it was amazing! They started us off with two amuse Bouche. Then we ordered "death by gumbo" it was my first experience with quail and it was great. I had the 9 oz filet with truffle mashed potatoes and my wife had the stuffed red fish with the Brussel sprouts. The entrees were excellent. The desserts were great and the night cap was when they brought a small box filled with brittle, small pastries and cookies. The service was great we were never in need of anything- two waiters and a beverage person attended to our every need. We had a great dining experience and would return and recommend it to everyone."

Every member of the wait staff that took care of us mentioned our anniversary and they brought us a great extra dessert with "Happy 5th Anniversary" spelled out on the plate in chocolate. We had a great time and will be back again."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. The attention and courtesy from staff is meticulous. This is a restaurant for serious foodies.The menu is innovative, taking Cajun standards and turning them on their head and expressing them in novel and exciting ways. It is not appropriate for children under 18 because the food is so expensive and may seem somewhat exotic for younger eaters. Also, the tawdriest sights of Bourbon Street are right nearby, so although R'Evolution is an oasis of good taste and refinement, it is impossible to avoid seeing the un-family friendly aspects of the neighborhood."

  • "My wife and I dined in Munich, Germany at what was one of the finest restaurants there and it was superb. However the bill was $600 +/- but worth it. Restaurant R'evolution was just as good in every respect. In fact I would go so far as to say that Restaurant R'evolution was a tad better and that is saying an awful lot in favor of R'evolution. I definitely will be back and would like to bring my son and daughter-in-law when they visit us next. Wonderful evening---great food--great wine---great martini--great service what more could you expect."

  • "I inadvertently left some rolled up photos on the table at the end of the meal. I discovered this when I got to the Monteleone, just 10 or 15 minutes later. I returned to R'Evolution and tried to interest several employees in attempting to locate the photos, but it was to no avail. Not one person showed even a vague interest, and, of course, they were never covered."

Only one in our party changed her mind instead of ordering Death By Gumbo at the last minute she ordered the seafood gumbo instead and was disappointed. But that was the only mistake at the table. Our steaks were wonderful and cooked to perfection. And don't miss the chocolate soufflé for dessert!!"

The gentleman at the next table dined with his hat on. The environment was very uncomfortable from the beginning. We will not return. Customer service was zero.   • "I ordered the Creole Bouillabaisse because I wanted something New Orleans style seafood; it certainly delivered! Before the entree came out, we were given a palette cleanser: a small beet salad. We also had rolls (a whole grain and a white) served warm with sea salt butter, maple butter, and olive oil. We ordered a bottle of Charles Duret Cremant de Bourgogne Brut, which was a delicious Rose. For dessert, I had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding Creme Brulee. I thought it would be more like creme brulee than bread pudding, but it was the opposite. Still delicious! The dessert box at the end was a great surprise. The service was top notch. Drinks were always topped off and the servers checked on us without being fussy."

I enjoyed every sip and bite of the soups, appetizers, entrées, and deserts. I especially enjoyed the surprise at the end which I am sure you will to if you have enough room at the end of the meal."

My only "less than excellent" rating would be for MY dessert. The chocolate cake was good but not "smack yo momma" good like the rest of the desserts. The other table guests desserts were amazing."

  • "We went to R'evolution on a tip from a waiter at another restaurant. He said that if you want real classic New Orleans dishes , then this was the place to go. Wow! Was he right. The food was perfectly prepared. I had the Coq au vin and it was amazing. My wife had the the grilled cobia fish and it too was perfect. The wine suggested to us paired wonderfully. I suggest the chocolate soufflé for dessert. It was decadent and lovely. The atmosphere was very romantic and was very clean. The wait staff were attentive but not over your shoulder the whole meal. All in all the perfect dining experience for us in The Big Easy. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant R'evolution."

  • "The restaurant's staff worked with me to provide a round table as we had a party of 7 and wanted to be able to stay engaged with everyone in the group. Everyone in our party was completely blown away by the wait staff and the food. We held the table for 3 hours and never felt that we were orverstaying our welcome. Definitely will be a restrauant at will become one of my "go to" places in New Orleans."

  • "My wife and I love this restaurant and go here every anniversary. We felt a bit rushed this time and when I went to the restroom the waiter took the dessert away before I could finish. When I arrived home, later Saturday night I was ill all night and all day Sunday. The only thing food different from my wife was the Quail in the gumbo and the lamb chops. Our waiter ( an older African american gent) was a bit pushy and we could tell he wanted to turn the table. The rest of the staff was very polite and attentive. We will come back, but will not want his service again since the restaurant was not even half full. We will probably ask for Jimmy since she is our favorite."

In fact, two days later and we still are not sure whom was our waitor. The food was good but not spectacular as one would expect. The food was absolutely perfect - we tried the shrimp and grits and the red fish at lunch - and we could not stop talking about it! The flavors were wonderful - layer upon layer - and the presentation! Do not miss dessert - we sampled the bread pudding along with the sorbets and sherbet - amazing! Best bread pudding we have ever had. Must get the receipe! Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend! Would be perfect for a business dinner or special occasion as well."

The service needs work - polite and responsive as our servers were, we had to request napkins well into our starters. The menu, I felt, was a bit confused (steak, caviar, gumbo, risotto and pho on one menu?) but the Death by Gumbo and Flounder Napoleon were faultless, beautiful dishes. Our mirliton-artichoke side, however, was underdone. Crowd was a bit male and veneered, but New Orleans is a convention city. A fun, convivial place for a group seeking world-class cooking and clever touches, but perhaps not the right place for a couple after a true New Orleans fine-dining experience."

The food was beyond delicious - and the care that was taken to prepare our food could be seen in the presentation and taste, as well as by watching the amazing chefs in the kitchen. The kitchen was a well-conducted orchestra of food preparation. The wait staff was equally as organized and friendly - offering suggestions and being very attentive. We tried the lobster risotto on a recommendation from the staff and it was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. In a city that has countless amazing cuisine choices, Restaurant R'evolution is the brightest of stars."

  • "We celebrated my husband's birthday there and it was fantastic! The servers were extremely knowledgable about everything. This was our first visit as we all live out of state and they had great recommendations on the menu & wine pairings. The artichoke side dish and shrimp po boy were amazing!!! Our only complaint was it was way tooooo cold inside the restaurant...all of the ladies were beyond uncomfortable which is why we didn't stay for long."
