  • "I inadvertently left some rolled up photos on the table at the end of the meal. I discovered this when I got to the Monteleone, just 10 or 15 minutes later. I returned to R'Evolution and tried to interest several employees in attempting to locate the photos, but it was to no avail. Not one person showed even a vague interest, and, of course, they were never covered."

  • "The food was excellent and the wine list is extensive! Only one in our party changed her mind instead of ordering Death By Gumbo at the last minute she ordered the seafood gumbo instead and was disappointed. But that was the only mistake at the table. Our steaks were wonderful and cooked to perfection. And don't miss the chocolate soufflé for dessert!!"

  • "My husband loves to wear a hat. He is accustomed to removing his hat when we are seated. He was asked to remove his hat before he even had the opportunity to do so. The gentleman at the next table dined with his hat on. The environment was very uncomfortable from the beginning. We will not return. Customer service was zero. My worse dining experience in New Orleans."

  • "Everything was superb. The staff was VERY attentive and the food was AMAZING!!! Our entrees were cooked to perfection. Even the drinks were divine...lol. My only "less than excellent" rating would be for MY dessert. The chocolate cake was good but not "smack yo momma" good like the rest of the desserts. The other table guests desserts were amazing."

  • "I ordered the Creole Bouillabaisse because I wanted something New Orleans style seafood; it certainly delivered! Before the entree came out, we were given a palette cleanser: a small beet salad. We also had rolls (a whole grain and a white) served warm with sea salt butter, maple butter, and olive oil. We ordered a bottle of Charles Duret Cremant de Bourgogne Brut, which was a delicious Rose. For dessert, I had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding Creme Brulee. I thought it would be more like creme brulee than bread pudding, but it was the opposite. Still delicious! The dessert box at the end was a great surprise. The service was top notch. Drinks were always topped off and the servers checked on us without being fussy."

I enjoyed every sip and bite of the soups, appetizers, entrées, and deserts. I especially enjoyed the surprise at the end which I am sure you will to if you have enough room at the end of the meal."

Don't let the location off of Bourbon Street scare you. Once you step in, it's miles away from the riff raff outside. Have the creme brûlée bread pudding for dessert. You will die and go to heaven and thank me."

  • "We celebrated our 20th last week culminating in a trip to Restaurant R'evolution. Service was excellent. All the staff seemed to be aware of our event. Crab Beignets were outstanding as was the Scallops with Fois Gras. No room for dessert but the provided a small anniversary treat. Great overall dinner."

Helpful wait staff, inventive menu, outstanding food, well executed and presented. Our group of 8 was treated to a tour of the kitchen and the wine cellar. Everyone was talking about it for days afterwards and I can't wait for my next visit. I think I'll make reservations here for every night of our stay!"

  • "My husband and I dined at Restaurant R'evolution during our 4 day visit to New Orleans. The food was beyond delicious - and the care that was taken to prepare our food could be seen in the presentation and taste, as well as by watching the amazing chefs in the kitchen. The kitchen was a well-conducted orchestra of food preparation. The wait staff was equally as organized and friendly - offering suggestions and being very attentive. We tried the lobster risotto on a recommendation from the staff and it was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. In a city that has countless amazing cuisine choices, Restaurant R'evolution is the brightest of stars."

  • "We went to R'evolution on a tip from a waiter at another restaurant. He said that if you want real classic New Orleans dishes , then this was the place to go. Wow! Was he right. The food was perfectly prepared. I had the Coq au vin and it was amazing. My wife had the the grilled cobia fish and it too was perfect. The wine suggested to us paired wonderfully. I suggest the chocolate soufflé for dessert. It was decadent and lovely. The atmosphere was very romantic and was very clean. The wait staff were attentive but not over your shoulder the whole meal. All in all the perfect dining experience for us in The Big Easy. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant R'evolution."

  • "My wife and I were booked for dinner at R'evolution by the W Hotel (Chartres Street) for our 20th Anniversary dinner. It was our first night in New Orleans and had no idea what R'evolution was about and were blown away by the ambiance of the restaurant, the amazing service and, ultimately, the wonderful food. We ordered the Death by Gumbo and we were totally unprepared for the incredible, intense flavor - quite unlike the typical seafood gumbos we get at home in Seattle. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and melted in our mouths. The memory is still there! Loved it all. The waiters and servers were amazing and we must have had about seven people helping us out throughout the meal. They made us feel totally welcome! A great meal!!!"

  • "While I do not want to over state the experience at R'evolution, it was wonderful. ambiance, service, and food all exceeded expectations... and this is New Orleans. If you are deciding between the lobster gnocchi and something else, I recommend the gnocchi. The lobster is sweet and buttery, while the gnocchi is a potato pasta from heaven, sent down on a perfectly herbed sauce. The only hesitation I have is the chocolate cake, it is rich to the point of a flaw and lacks any flavor layers beyond chocolate. Other dessert options however were quite lovely. And please take the time to dress appropriately, they may let you in but it will not be appreciated."

  • "The restaurant's staff worked with me to provide a round table as we had a party of 7 and wanted to be able to stay engaged with everyone in the group. Everyone in our party was completely blown away by the wait staff and the food. We held the table for 3 hours and never felt that we were orverstaying our welcome. Definitely will be a restrauant at will become one of my "go to" places in New Orleans."

  • "My wife and I love this restaurant and go here every anniversary. We felt a bit rushed this time and when I went to the restroom the waiter took the dessert away before I could finish. When I arrived home, later Saturday night I was ill all night and all day Sunday. The only thing food different from my wife was the Quail in the gumbo and the lamb chops. Our waiter ( an older African american gent) was a bit pushy and we could tell he wanted to turn the table. The rest of the staff was very polite and attentive. We will come back, but will not want his service again since the restaurant was not even half full. We will probably ask for Jimmy since she is our favorite."

This was our first visit as we all live out of state and they had great recommendations on the menu & wine pairings. The artichoke side dish and shrimp po boy were amazing!!! Our only complaint was it was way tooooo cold inside the restaurant...all of the ladies were beyond uncomfortable which is why we didn't stay for long."

  • "Everything was superb! The service was exactly what you would expect at a 5-star restaurant, without being overdone or stuffy. The food was absolutely perfect - we tried the shrimp and grits and the red fish at lunch - and we could not stop talking about it! The flavors were wonderful - layer upon layer - and the presentation! Do not miss dessert - we sampled the bread pudding along with the sorbets and sherbet - amazing! Best bread pudding we have ever had. Must get the receipe! Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend! Would be perfect for a business dinner or special occasion as well."

  • "We were very disappointed with the service. We were given an iPad as menu for wine with hundreds of choices and 20 minutes passed by with no assistance. In fact, two days later and we still are not sure whom was our waitor. The food was good but not spectacular as one would expect. This was supposed to be a very special night for us.The overall experience was unfortunately not impressive."

Made note of some very good press/ fanfare over this restaurant and the alleged expertise behind the scenes- made a point of dining here on our last visit. While I was far from disappointed by the meal itself, I found the overall experience somehow amiss. The food was really quite excellent, but appeared as if prepared, likewise delivered in strange, compartmental rigidity. It felt as though the food, the service team, the kitchen, the ambiance, each outside the context of the other. I would have enjoyed the meal more as take out-less bizarre. My suggestion for fine dining, choose one of the well known/established New Orleans restaurants with authentic service, ambiance and character."

  • "Although both the menu and the venue lack the cohesion you'd expect from two experienced restaurateurs, the food on the whole was excellent. The service needs work - polite and responsive as our servers were, we had to request napkins well into our starters. The menu, I felt, was a bit confused (steak, caviar, gumbo, risotto and pho on one menu?) but the Death by Gumbo and Flounder Napoleon were faultless, beautiful dishes. Our mirliton-artichoke side, however, was underdone. Crowd was a bit male and veneered, but New Orleans is a convention city. A fun, convivial place for a group seeking world-class cooking and clever touches, but perhaps not the right place for a couple after a true New Orleans fine-dining experience."

  • "The plates more than delivered on the menu descriptions. The restaurant could be a little muted as the lighting was bright in some places. The bar has the right level of ambience and muted lighting. We loved them pouring the glass of wine right at your table, allowing you to see the bottle and vintage prior to pouring. They also allowed you to taste first. Very nice touch."

  • "This dining experience is not for the budget minded. The food and wine critic will be impressed. Our dinner tab was $800 for 4. That included wine, taxes, and tip. We had the tasting menu which the food was sublime. That was $120 per person, if you add the paired wines it is an additional $150 per person, we decided to forgo that experience and just ordered a couple of bottles off their world class wine list, which would impress any sommelier. The service was exemplary with 3 waitpersons to our table. It would have been nice to have each course explained in some detail, or a visit from the chef, but that's just the foodie speaking. The end of the meal is capped with the presentation of a lacquered box filled with sweet temptations."
