  • "We went to dinner at IPO after getting a coupon on Groupon. It was a double date, and we had a great time. We all ordered off the Tapas menu (4 total) and were blown away by the flavors of the selection. My date had a bowl of gumbo, which he LOVED, and I had the strawberry salad, also excellent. The guys just had to try the $55 burger. It was AMAZING! We also ordered the tuna, which was incredible! Overall, we loved the food and atmosphere! Well done Restaurant IPO, we will be back!!"

  • "Very energetic place with great cocktails and very interesting, well-prepared food. Great for small groups, too noisy for a real date, but that's OK, Baton Rouge has enough quiet restaurants already! The service was really excellent. Our group of four ordered tapas and drinks in several rounds and all of the food and drink arrived in good time to keep the evening flowing along. Only quibble: the restaurant was too cold. We were cold, and all the people at the tables around us were cold. Please work on that because we will be back soon (with sweaters!)."

  • "We tried the bon temps shrimp, tacos, pulled pork and grits, crab meat with goat cheese, and bread pudding. The food was good, but we found the drinks were on the pricey side. Service was very good and atmosphere was hip and modern."

  • "Haven't been to IPO since they changed chefs and was pleasantly surprised. Some of the old favorites remain and there a few new additions to the tapas menu that are fantastic. We arrived on time and were seated right away and greeted by our server. The only weak spot in the entire place is the length of time to receive drinks from the bar. The place was packed and our service was great...it just took entirely too long to receive anything from the bar. Either way, IPO is a very nice addition to the Baton Rouge restaurant scene and I'll definitely be back."

  • "We live in Baton Rouge and enjoy frequenting IPO for lunch and dinner. The food is usually very tasty. One member of our party is gluten free, and it can be a challenge finding gluten free items on the IPO menu, but we did manage to eat there. Our only issue with our most recent meal was that it was slightly too salty for our taste, but other than that, it was very good."

  • "My finace is a bit of a foodie, so we had been wanting to checking IPO out since it opened. We ordered tapas and a few specialty beverages. The drinks were great (on the pricier side). Our tapas tasted amazing (duck poppers, gnocchi, and grits and grillades) but the food was a bit cold, definitely not as warm as it should have been. Our waiter gave some good recommendations (especially about the fried bread pudding dessert), but our water glasses were empty almost the entire meal. I'd come back again if we had a coupon, because the food was great, but otherwise we were a little disappointed."

  • "Had dinner on March 1 (same day as Spanish Town Parade). The service was lacking. There were only 2 waiters and 1 bartender, and the bartender was also serving tables. The food was good but it wasn't hot and had probably sat in the kitchen for several minutes because the waitstaff was undermanned. I have been to dinner twice at IPO - the first experience was Great; the second not so much. I will give it a shot again at some point."

  • "The server took a very long time to check on us. He insisted that we order about 5 appetizers instead of just one because he claimed the portion size was very small. We ordered 4 in which there were more than enough on one single appetizer. I ordered a soup that he suggested which was horrible, yet he mentioned it was very popular. He was not very helpful nor very attentive to my guest and i so unfortunately we won't be returning to this resturant. May i add that the entrees we ordered were very delicious but with the amount of appetizers we had, we were just unable to enjoy the meal. Overall, unsatifying experience."

  • "The food and service are good but the tables are a major issue. The restruant is a decent size but the tables are less than a foot and a half apart. I ate with my date but it was more like we were eating with the couple sitting next to us as well. We could hear every single bit of their conversation and had to move the table just to get in and out between the two. It is very unfortunate as i would not go back because of this though the food was good. This is an issue that surely could be fixed with ease. The place wasnt packed so there was no need to be that close to the table next to us."

  • "Three course meal with wine pairings was very good. The duck was good and I would definitely recommend it. The steak was also good but a little more seasoning would have been better. Wait staff was very attentive but not intrusive. Overall it was a very good experience, and we will definitely be going back. The space is small and how shall I say "intimate". You and your table neighbor are quite close. Again, we really enjoyed the food and service. I would definitely recommend you give it a try."

  • "Food was ok but inconsistent portions. Some tapas would come and be plenty to share and others were barely a bite. My husband's potatoes were ice cold and my steak frites were mostly tough fat and undercooked. I dont mind spending some money on a special dinner but I definitely have gotten better for the money elsewhere. We were pretty disappointed."

  • "Overall our experience at IPO was good. The atmosphere at IPO is great and it has a NOLA feel for a Baton Rouge restaurant. Our table had a mix of tapas and entrees. Most of the dishes were great, some mediocre, and one in particular was very disappointing. This review would have higher ratings except for a couple of issues: Every time someone would open the door to the adjoining bar, a strong wave of cigarette smoke would flood in. As the evening went on, the music from the bar next door would vibrate the restaurant. We plan to return but will avoid a late reservation on a weekend to avoid the obnoxious bar next door."

  • "Restaurant IPO is one of our favorite places to suggest for a special date night, group lunch, friends night out, etc etc. The wine and drink list is great, the food is amazing (seriously, the seared scallops make me want to cry). Tapas is such a great way to be able to try lots of things instead of just picking one entree. Service is always great and the servers/hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable- some dishes may take longer than others but with their wine/drink list waiting is never a problem. I will say it can get loud in there! It can have a really lively atmosphere at times but you are still able to have a private conversation. I would absolutely do a reservation for a popular night or weekend. We will keep coming back!"

  • "My husband and I returned for a third time to celebrate his birthday. It took a while for a server to greet us but once our service for the rest of the evening more than made up for it. We had a great meal and I totally recommend this restaurant. Try the bayou eggs & the duck rolls!"

  • "We were very pleased with our dining experience. We chose to eat off the tapas menu. The crab, brie, and corn bisque was excellent!!! I would eat that everyday. We also had Duck Poppers, Shrimp Bon Temp, and Southern Gnocchi. All of the dishes had a great flavor and just enough "kick." The gnocchi was good but a little bland in comparison to the other dishes. I drank a ginger maragrita- EXCELLENT! The service was also great. there were many staff working together to make our experince enjoyable."

  • "We went to Ipo for my birthday. I've never had tapas before and though it sounded good. We also saw a show that did a bit about Ipo and it sounded very good. When we got there, no one else was even in the dining room. The hostess took my jacket, say us at a table and our waiter came right away. The service was excellent maybe because they weren't're buddy, but not over bearing like some bored waiters get. I had an excellent mixed drink, and we shared 6 various tapas. All were incredible with some a bit spicy without too much heat, or savory, with an excellent variety. They were having trouble keeping the music on, apparently Pandora kept turning itself off, but it want that big of a deal. I will definitely be back as soon as possible."

  • "I have dined here several times over a period of months. I truly wish the construction going on in the space adjacent would be completed. The noise is the ONLY downfall to this place. The food is phenomenal. I love the tapas idea. It's great with friends and we all get to try way too many things on the menu. I also love the use of local ingredients."

  • "The good was good but there was two small chicken breasts on my sandwich. One was cooked perfectly and the second was under cooked . Presentation was great, service was great and atmosphere was awesome. My waitress offered to take the sandwich back but I had already eaten most of it so I declined. Overall I would recommend this restaurant ."

  • "We went to IPO to celebrate my husband's birthday. Had not been there before and decided to try it out. Was a little surprised at the atmosphere, expected it to be a little dressier; however, now that we know, that is great - I guess it just didn't fit the prices that we saw online thought it was a little dressier. Great atmosphere, but definitely casual. Food was good, but not as blown away as I thought we would be. We tried 3 different small plates and all were like I said very good. Service was great and we will definitely return."

  • "My server was the bartender as well and did a great job at both. He made me drinks not on the menu. I was upset because three things I wanted to order were no longer on the menu. There was also very little "healthier" options. The food we had was good but it took a process and t he salad we ordered had a different dressing then stated on the menu. I was just disappointed with what was stated and what I received didnt' match."
