  • "We had a 7:45 PM reservation, arrived right on time and waited about 5 minutes before being seated. My wife and I had decided to try this restaurant as part of the Houston Restaurant week. One of my wife's co-workers had went and was very impressed. With the 1st course, I got the Lamp Lollipop and my wife selected the Tuna Dome. The second course was a Lobster Crab Bisque for me and the Tomato Salad for her. Both courses were small to medium portions, but this turned out to be good by then end of the meal. The third course (entree) was a Flounder Fillet for me and an Airline Chicken for my wife. Excellent food, good portions and very filling. Dessert was a Chocolate Mouse Cake and the Bananas Foster. A very satisfying meal."

Chef Polo is really doing a great job in providing affordable fare and a pleasant lunch. I take most of my clients here."

  • "Although we had lived only blocks away, it took us nearly a year to visit Post Oak Grill. Thank you to them for participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks and that was our motivation. We were babysitting our 9 month old granddaughter. Although they only had one high chair in the facility that was already in use, the staff was most accommodating. The chef sent out a small ramekin of sweet potato casserole with a small spoon to hold her until our food order arrived. The food was very good, and service was also very good. Old school restaurant and obviously a favorite of many as evidenced by how long they have been in business. We will be back."

  • "Post Oak is the few remaining restaurants that give you 4 courses for only $35 during Houston Restaurant Week (even though it now lasts a whole month). The PAN-SEARED GINGER GLAZED LAMB LOLLIPOP was cooked to perfection; although you only get one served on a bed of greens. I would pay for a full-serving of this. The ROASTED LOBSTER CRAB BISQUE with cognac essence was good but a little slightly too salty and served warm, not hot. The SURF & TURF consists of sliced prime beef tenderloin and lobster imperial, jumbo asparagus with white cheddar potatoes, finished with a light peppercorn Cabernet sauce. The lobster was slightly under-seasoned but the beef tenderloin was absolutely delightful. The final course was a chocolate cake that was good."

  • "First off let me start off by saying how truely excited I was to try this place after glancing at what seems like a ton of menus for HRW, so when it comes to the food and portion sizes it was all very flavorful, and did not disappoint. The only complaint Id have about the food was that my sister and I both had ordered rare steaks and received medium ones. The service was less than sub par. The worst thing about it was that they had put us literally on the side of the restaurant; which contained two other tables full of other asians like they were ashamed to have us in the main dining room. Our server acted like she did not want anything to do with us, but drew the short straw. The food was good but not enough for me to want to come back."

  • "The lobster bisque smelled and tasted fishy. I had airline chicken which was just okay. My husband had the surf and turf. His steak was not what we would expect from what is supposed to be a good restaurant. Most restaurants that serve banana foster flambeau it table side and it is a delectable treat. Not here. It was just handed to us. It had literally one teaspoon of ice cream with a few slices of banana and a pinch of cinnamon. Service left a lot to be desired"

  • "The only thing that was worth mentioning was the free bread basket. Went there for lunch. Has the crab avocado salad. It was drenched in mayo or whatever that dressing was and little lettuce to offset it. Tasted more like a dip. Chicken salad sandwich lacked flavor. Very bland and uninteresting meal. We were splitting 2 dishes and the staff didn't think to put it on one plate. Definitely doable due to the dishes ordered. Huge Plates took up our whole table. "

  • "my first time going to this restaurant, and have always heard it was a nice place with good food. sadly this is not what i encountered, the services was slow at best. there were many times i felt like i was forgotten about, until another waiter noticed i was trying to flag down are original server. the food was fair but not what i expected for the price, I've been to cheaper with much better food. the pasta was ok but i would pick carrabas's over there's and the desert just sad. to top its all of the waiter gave me the wrong check as in one from another table already payed for signed and all. many times i felt like just walking about of the place. i well not be coming back and i regret making the chose to comes in the first place."

  • "We reserved and requested a quiet table to celebrate with our 86 year old mother. It seems there was a very large bat mitzvah party in the bar. The music was blaring with middle schoolers running amok in, out and around the restaurant the entire evening. They were rowdy and disrespectful of the diners. I think we should have been warned us that it would not be a quiet, adult dinner. It was more like being in the Gym for a basketball game. The food and service were wonderful, but the noise was unbearable."

  • "We got engaged here in 2008: then it was classy, with cultured clientele to match. We tried a return on Valentine's day to celebrate our engagement and were saddened. For 9:30 reservations, we arrived at 9:15 to a line out the door to check in. 15 min later, upon checking in with the hostess and mentioning our reservations, we got- "Look around, so does everyone else here!!!" I asked about the wait, and was told it would be 20 minutes. A couple who had worked their way to the front of the standing-room only lobby, said they were 1 hr past their reservation already. My wife overheard a waitress mention they added 50 tables, no staff! Meanwhile playing country-sounding music for ambiance (??) Really disappointed in the greed. We left."

Not once did he ask us how are meal was and we had to ask to have our water filled every time we ran low. The serving sizes were the smallest on each of them. I will never go back or recommend them."

  • "At the beginning everything was wonderful, we were immediately seated (with reservations). After 5-10 minutes the waiter took our orders. Our first course came out 20 minutes later, the food was not bad. Our second course never came. We sat there for literally TWO HOURS with no food, no drinks, and the waiter never once bothered to come by. When he finally arrived with our food, it was incorrect, of course. When they finally got it right, it still was not great. Not a single employee in the restaurant ever once apologized or explained the problem. They also brought in another table and placed it 3 feet away. Other couples came in after and still left before us. Truly the worst dining experience I've ever had. I would not recommend it."

  • "I look my wife to this place to celebrate Valentines night. Big MISTAKE! They clearly packed as many tables into the place as they could and cared NOTHING about the service being rendered. We got up and walked out after the waiter brought us a basket of roll/bread that had been PICKED OVER, EATEN FROM, PAWED OVER by another table in the place. They literally tried to serve us USED BREAD. The waiter apologized, but we did not stick around to take the chance on being served picked over entres! A TERRIBLE PLACE!!!"

  • "The food was wonderful. The electricity went off just after we ordered lunch. The waiters quickly put candles on every table and made the best of it. They had to turn people away, but took care of the people already seated. Electricity came back on just as we were leaving."
