Diner Reviews
  • "The atmosphere is unsurpassed. It felt like stepping into an old Hollywood movie. Absolute luxury all the way. I had the Wagyu beef. It was so tender I barely needed a knife to cut it. Both food and service were amazing. They waited on us hand and foot. Highly recommend."

  • "This was a chance decision on my part that I am really glad we did. I had heard of the Polo Lounge for years but had not considered it as something high on my to do list. However, having had a superb breakfast in terrific surroundings - maybe I should have done this years ago. Service and food were impeccable and the setting on the terrace was excellent - especially to those who like "People Watching!" The most surprising thing was the cost, I had expected an astronomical bill but it was far lower than I had expected and that, for a Scot, was a pleasant surprise."

  • "But I think in light of recent issues with the hotel management company, they were not on their a game at the polo lounge. The meal was nice, the drinks were nice, but the service was sub par. The waiter dropped drinks on us twice and then didn't offer to comp anything, but rather just rotated the table so we didn't have to sit in wet spots."

  • "Our first experience with the Polo Lounge was the best dining experience we have had to date! This was a birthday celebration and everything was perfect from the moment we walked in to the surprise birthday dessert at the end. The French Martini's and Bloody Mary's were awesome and the Scottish Salmon was excellent in every way! Everyone was attentive and our server Alec was friendly and very accommodating. We will definitely return! ps.... that crumber was way cool! :)"

  • "Great to a girls lunch, especially if you have out of town guests who want to see a few iconic spots. The service and food were great and the staff makes you feel special. We wanted to tour the pool area and gift shop and everyone was so helpful and nice. I recommend the Polo Lounge for special occasions."

  • "I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world. I cannot recommend this place, and certainly not at this price point. A $25 small bib lettuce salad with a few strawberry fragments ? Come on…. A $52 NY steak that was just okay ? Don't waste your time here..."

  • "One of the places that was on mom's bucket list, she had always wanted to eat there as she had read about the history of the place and that there were times that you can spot a star or two in the restaurant. The bonus is that the food was really quite good and the staff very warm and friendly not at all snooty as some place can be. She had a wonderful salmon burger that was cooked to perfection with a nice side salad. I had a salad that had farro and quino grains Fabulous.. Must try the triple chocolate dessert. Rich and decadent but ultimately yummy! "

  • "I thought we had reservations for brunch, but there was a mistake and they only had breakfast at the time of our reservation. But breakfast was delicious, and the service was superb. We were never rushed, and it was just a lovely way to celebrate a special occasion. First time I was there, but I'll be back."

  • "The perfect place for a special lunch in the Garden Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel- romantic setting with large shade umbrellas, fresh flowers and crisp table linens. Waiter very attentive, informed about the menu with good recommendations.Still serving my all time favorite- Lobster Salad with touches of citrus! No heavy mayo to be seen anywhere! YUMMY. "

  • "The service was amazing. I had a pasta dish which I did not love. My friends has lobster rissotto which she really liked. We had drink before we went to our table and found it nice that I came with chip, salsa and guacamole. I have heard there lunch is amazing will go back for that. "

  • "My husband and I hadn't had lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel in many years. The Polo Lounge inside or out, is still very special and has a beautiful ambience. My wine at $25.00 a glass was both pricy and delicious, but you're dining at the Polo Lounge, so no complaints on my end. They did of course have less expensive wines to choose from. My crab cake was delicious but my husbands fish taco was bland and boring."

  • "We went here for our anniversary dinner. Special occasion since we live in Chicago. There was nothing wrong with the restaurant at all, but anyone there under the age of 50 was dressed so "casually" (read SLOPPY) that it really was depressing to see. I know the Polo Lounge still has a great reputation, but if you want to go there for an elegant evening out, be prepared to feel either over-dressed, or very old."

  • "Open table needs to specify what reservations could be made for the Polo Lounge. Found out at the restaurant that Open table cannot be used for Afternoon Tea. "

  • "Always wanted to have a meal at the Polo Lounge. But we went as tourists. We dressed up in our best to go. We were overdressed. Lunch is quite casual. The waiter was excellent. Food very good. Everything I thought it would be."

  • "The answer to this question says is all: Where in the world will a $6 ice tea be worth $6 or a Bloody Maria be made with Patron: The Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills, California!!"

  • "I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly, not only for the amazing quality of the food but just as important the "old Hollywood" feel. You can just imagine an A list star sitting in one of the secluded outdoor tables or a producer closing a deal at the next table. Alright it is on the expensive side, but the food and experience are well worth it and the service is right up there as well. Now the food; steak tartare to die for and made at your table, lobster salad with an entire lobster tail and claws and a refreshing Asian tang, bread basket extraordinaire and top notch wine. Definitely 5star experience."

  • "We stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel a few years back and remembered how good the food and service was at the Polo Lounge. My son is now studying at UCLA and every time I visit from England, I take him for there for dinner for a treat. The scallops were out of this world and the wine so fine and beautifully presented in the appropriate glasses. Just love this place especially with the atmosphere oozing old fashion Hollywood glamour!"

  • "We came all the way from Michigan and wanted to eat at the Polo Lounge for breakfast. IT WAS AMAZING!! We ate at 7:30 and were one of the only ones there. The service was top notch and very accommodating. The blueberry pancakes were the best and my mom and aunt had two eggs and eggs Benedict respectively and couldn't stop talking about it! And the freshly squeezed Orange Juice is a must! Everyone at the hotel was so nice when we walked in and we enjoyed chatting with them. It was a little chilly yet so we sat inside facing the patio, which was absolutely beautiful! I recommend everyone eats at this restaurant, especially breakfast! "

  • "The Polo Lounge has immense appeal the moment you walk in - service is impeccable and even the loud mouths fronting the bar are bearable. Presentation of dishes made for the night - the place to take your present or future lover in a booth close to the piano"

  • "I have been to the Polo Lounge many times for drinks and for dinner and always enjoy the experience. It has that old Hollywood charm about it - just being there makes you feel special. I look forward to my next visit."

  • "Except the last two times the service was very poor. Normally everything is exceptional, the service food, ambiance. A truly enjoyable dining experience if you have the right server. Almost always one of the finest dining experiences in town."

  • "I make a reservation on opentable and leave a message that it is for the afternoon tea. Then I received a phone come from polo lounge and told me that the afternoon tea can't take a reservation on line. But the guy there already help me to make it. When we arrive there, we found the hotel is so beautiful. The scone is warm and I still want some right now. The sandwich is great and the dessert looked so nice. It is only 40 per person and we all think it is so worthy!"

  • "Well it's been some years since I had been back but it was still quite good, terrific service, good ambiance and a big fat check at the end... yup it was just the same last time... Always have fun here with lots of laughs with a couple of hot call girls to boot, yup nothings changed :)))"

  • "Once again, The Polo Lounge delivered...they were so accommodating, they made any problems disappear with excellent service from all involved, from Pepe, Sal and Nino, with all the other servers pitching in...we will continue to come back, it is pricey, but quality is outstanding. "

  • "This is what I told myself when I made lunch reservations for my son and me at the Polo Lounge. I've never paid $75 for two burgers before and likely will not again, but it was definitely something I'm glad I experienced. We sat on the patio and it was lovely. Our server was awesome. It was not the best burger I ever ate, but it was tasty."

  • "The setting - classic Beverly Hills, with a great history and exquisite period decor - is perfect. It is therefore literally tragic that the cuisine would be so bad. Why is the chef cooking Middle American banalities that are barely edible? Be prepared for $55 tough steaks, $20 Caesar salad with limp iceberg lettuce, and watery bouillon pretending to be lobster bisque."

  • "Wonderful food, ambiance, atmosphere and service. Lovely outdoor setting. You never feel rushed and are always cared for in a professional and warm manner. I mean it's the Beverly Hills Hotel...what could be better!!"

  • "The Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel features a classic atmosphere that is truly old time Hollywood/Los Angeles. It's a great location for a special occasion such as an anniversary. It is pricey, but worth every dime for the experience, impeccable service, and attention to detail. Every visit I make to Los Angeles includes a stop at the Polo Lounge."

  • "The venue is lovely and old school charm. Service is warm and friendly. The cappuccino I had was very average and the oats cold. The gluten free pancakes my son had were delicious. Would definitely recommend the venue."
