  • "it seems so simple really - but the ingredients are so incredible - everything is delicious. My favorite pizza is the slow cooked broccoli. It's always a struggle what to choose - especially at dessert time - butterscotch budino or the sunday with the caramel ice cream, spanish peanuts and marshmallow sauce. usually not my thing but more savory than it sounds! and of course the wine list is a perfect glance into how great Italian wine can be."

  • "Okay, so I knew (since I frequented Osteria Mozza) that the Pizzaria attached had to be great... But I didn't expect the pizza to blow me away quite this much... Crust has always been one of my favorite parts of the pizza ( even since a youngster), guess it was the pastry chef in me wanting to come out. I just never knew I could enjoy pizza crust quite like this. It's crispy, tender, earthy from the olive oil and salty... That's right, the cuts is sprinkled w/ salt as if Nancy herself is saying "this crust is ridiculously good by itself so please eat it!". And, YOU MUST! Also don't ever leave w/o ordering the Budino! There's a reason it's been one of LA's top desserts these past few years! Enjoy! I sure did."

  • "Yet another great meal at Mozza. The chopped salad, Gorgonzola/leek/bacon pizza, and bruschetta are favorites. If you are doing dessert the butterscotch caramel budino is amazing. Sad the fried squash blossoms are out of season. Great place for lunch or dinner!"

  • "I have always wanted to go to Pizzeria Mozza and when Nancy Silverton won a James Beard award this year, I knew it was time. The fried potato appetizer and salad (tricolore) were great and the pizzas were superb. The crust really is the best part! The desserts (Caramel & Berry Copettas) were unexpected and delicious. My issue was with the service. Our waiter was aloof, to put it mildly. It may have been that I was not as cool looking as the rest of the hip crowd that was there. I am not sure why he felt they were more important than me. He spent more time speaking with and taking the orders of others who came after us (we were a party of 4). The place is also small and cramped. From now on, I will be getting my pizza to go."

  • "We ate here for the first time after the theater and loved it. We arrived at 9:30 on a Sunday night and it was hopping! The mushroom pizza was the most flavorful we have ever tasted and the thin crust was delicious. Our waitress recommended two great Italian wines that paired perfectly with the pizza. Loved the quieter back room/wine cellar."

  • "I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for the longest time, because of all the hype and finally went there for my birthday. Made the reservation at least three and half weeks in advance. Restaurant was a bit too noisy and dark for me. I had to use my phone flashlight to read the menu. The Tricolore salad was amazing and the white beans alla Toscana bruschetta and garlic bread was wonderful. I could just eat these three things and be happy. Although, I was disappointed with the pizza after all the raves I heard. The Fungi Misti pizza was okay, I was expecting more. The pizza alla benno with pineapple and jalapeno was better but a bit spicy. If I ever go back there, will have to try their other pizzas."

Salads and everything else are also great but the pizza is the star. Great wines by the glass list too. Servers are really friendly and I always feel welcome."

  • "starts with $10 valet parking - too rich for anyone's blood. I should've come here on my motorcycle! we got our reserved table very quickly but it was probably the worst table in the house - right near the noisy kitchen area. the AC blew very hard on my wife so I had to go outside, wait 15 minutes for the valet guy to get the jacket for me. Pizza was the best pizza I ever had in my life - and I just ordered the Margherita! And I had a lot of pizza everywhere in the world! Probably better place for lunch than dinner overall."

  • "As a foody, I must note this place is HORRIBLE!  We ordered the cauliflower appetizer , it came to the table looking like a zebra - black and white ... The black part was charcoaled !!!! It tasted bitter and burnt ... I asked the server if it's supposed to be this way and he said yes ... I get crispy sautéed vegetable but I don't get burnt ! Nasty to say the least. We ordered the Napoleon pizza - buffola mozza, anchovies, capers ... It gets to the table and it's supposed to be 4 slices and 2 out of four have no cheese .. Just sauce and pieces of anchovy ... If I wanted breadsticks with sauce I would have ordered that! This is NOT a pizza ... Pizza consists of crust, sauce and cheese!"

  • "In advance on Open Table and again through a phone call I asked to reserve a table - early in the evening- 5:00- for four people that could accommodate a person with a broken leg who is on crutches. I was told no problem. She needed to elevate her foot and sit in an interior table that would not be bumped constantly by the servers due to blood clotting concerns. Manager refused to make any accommodation when I arrived and was very uncaring. A very negative dining experience which could have been great. If you need any physical accommodation, do not dine here."

  • "We stopped by and had dinner there last week. Margarita pizza was fantastic, chopped salad was a nice size and tasty, meatballs were tender with a nice sauce. Also tried the fennel sausage pizza which was very good, and finished with caramel dessert and some olive oil gelato. It was a really nice, casual place for dinner. We had a great time!"

  • "Most everyone goes to Mozza for the Pizzas which are definately 1st Class & Top Shelf - But "Best" Pizza is a topic that can start a religious war so it's best not to say any more. One thing (several actually) that shouldn't be missed are the Antipasti. A group of four can have a great meal/time sharing several of them along with a pizza or two. If you want a nice quiet & romatic Italian meal Pizzaria Mozza ain't that place - It's loud, crowded, and a pretty good party. Despite the crowd outside waiting for tables, with an Open Table reservation our party was seated as soon as we checked in."

I loved this place when I lived in LA and on a recent visit from my new home in NY, it didn't disappoint. You have to try very, very hard to find something better when you're looking for casual dining, friendly and attentive service and just overall fantastic fresh food at a very reasonable price. These are very far from a average pizzas."

  • "The food is fabulous. My daughter and I took my mother here to end her visit with us and we weren't disappointed. The three of us shared two appetizers - buratta/tomatoes and squash flowers. The tastes exploded in my mouth. The grilled cherry tomatoes with the buratta were exquisite and the squash flowers are a delicacy. We then shared eggplant parmesan (the daily special) and a pizza with leeks, goat cheese and scallions. The crust of the pizza is so outstanding and the flavors ... perfect combination. Somehow this eggplant parm was the most flavorful, I've ever tasted and I mean the eggplant - which is usually an excuse to put cheese and tomato sauce together. A perfect cap to her visit and a great way to send her back east."

  • "The pizza is good, the crust is great. They get "creative". Wasn't crazy about the one I had the last time since the raw arugula on my pizza made my mouth do the work of eating a salad instead of savoring the rest of the ingredients on the pizza which ruined it. I had a simple green salad but it was as if the baby green could have come from a bag with only a little dressing on it. Wish there was at least one more ingredient in there to make it more interesting for the money. (It's expensive!). The young hostess was arrogant - perhaps if you don't look like you quite are rich enough to be there, you get attitude), but the wait staff was very pro and friendly. It's a "scene," so being there seems like you're someplace important."

  • "Got there right before our reservation was told that we could not get seated till our full party was there, Our full party arrived we sat for 25 mins before getting service. I saw a table get seated without a full party. I guess they have special rules for certain people. I had to ask for ice tea 3 times. Waiter didn't want to give recommending (our first time there). Got our apps, and the bus boy was at the table every 5 secs asking if we were done to clear our plates when you could clearly see there was still apps on the plates. Entree went smoothly. Dessert came, and again the bus boys came by every 5 seconds to ask if we were done and before we could finish he picked up everyone's dessert spoons.. so I didn't get to finish my food :-("

  • "PROS: Service (top notch!), food, wine, dinner costs (fairly reasonable for a trendy L.A. eatery). CONS: $10 Valet charge (UGH!). NOISE LEVEL - waaaay too loud for a conversation. TIP: Feel free to ask your server what all the Italian words on the menu mean. TIP: Get the butterscotch cup for dessert. OMG!!! We're going to try the Osteria next door in a few months."
