Palace CaféMemories to CherishMy sister, visiting from Tulsa, and I were captivated by the ambiance of old New Orleans. Our servers, Richard and Kristen, were very professional. The food tasted as delicious as always. The grandeur of The Palace Café is perfected by that magnificent Jazz Trio. Their toe-tapping repertoire of music is marvelous.
When we reached our destination, her eyes widened and her ears were enchanted with the music. There was so much to absorb that is was overwhelming. The memories made at The Palace Cafe that will be cherished forever. Thank you for adding another memory to our joy. We definitely will be back. Sincerely,
Karen Hollingsworth6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat as alwaysWe had a great time at dinner. We requested a table by the windows upstairs and they gave us exactly that. The wait staff was efficient and fun to chat with about the food and the restaurant history. Wine list was good, though I would have like to have seen a few more choices of Italian wines. Overall it was a wonderful meal and we will definitely go again!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic NOI've been there before many years ago and it was just as good as I remember. Food was great and service was attentive.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat atmosphere and deliciousGreat atmosphere and delicious food! Went specifically to try the Crabmeat Cheesecake and enjoyed the whole meal! Went back again for lunch a couple of days later.
Service was excellent as well!
Heather5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappoints!Nice staff and good food. Love the crab cheesecake -- luscious and just a wonderful dish. Turtle soup is good, but not as good as Brennan's (IMO). Salads are nice. Great place for any meal!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPalace CafeI recently went for my anniversary and my wife and I enjoyed ourselves. The only issue was that our food was cold. They were more than happy to re-fire everything to make sure we were happy. The deserts were very good and the servers were very nice.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic serviceFantastic service makes up for any food shortfalls. Shrimp Tchefuncte and bananas foster were great. Andouille battered trout left a bit to be desired for me. Would still return to try more.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFun spotGreat food and service. View of Canal Street gives their guests a front row seat to passing parade of New Orleans's visitors. A fun background to great food!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't let the exterior (flashyDon't let the exterior (flashy lights) or location (near cheap souvenir shops) throw you off. This resturant offerrs a classy interior, friendly staff and fantastic food.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, perfect saucesAll though very well known and popular this is NOT one of those tourist restaurants where everything is deep fried. Quite the opposite. Had perfectly prepared local pan seared fish with scruptious sauce. Second time at Palace Cafe and we will be back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood dinner at the palace cafeHad a great time at Palace Cafe. Turtle soup was tasty, as was the pork loin (and Very large portion). And of course I had to finish off with the bananas foster--which is both entertaining and tasty.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall - great food...Overall, the food (we all had the creole filet) was great... but it was not served hot... it was plenty warm, but not hot. The salads were all amazing thought! And again the shrimp was great too, but not hot. Service was excellent, the location was great & the menu was varied. I'd give this all 5 stars all around if all (or if the majority of our food) was served at the right temperature.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable lunchWe went to the Palace Cafe for a business lunch. It was very good. Excellent food and service that allowed us to be in an out in an hour. We all enjoyed the menu and the locations very much.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways try to eat here onAlways try to eat here on a visit toNOLA and took my son here for dinner. He is a beef connesuer and was not disappointed. The trout served over crawfish ettuffe was outstanding. We also loved the strawberry ice cream sandwich for dessert, but would have liked more fresh berries with it. My only complaint was our server did not inform us that Grand Marnier 100 was $40 apiece!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Palace CafeI've been to Palace Cafe several times for brunch and I love it! The food is always delicious, and everyone on the staff is on their game. Though I have never been for lunch or dinner, i know friends that have and they love it as well.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Quarter jazz brunch spot!I had no idea how good the food would be for the price, and the jazz trio at brunch was the best we heard all weekend! I'm still dreaming about the fried oysters.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great Mothers Day BrunchWe had brunch at the Palace Cafe this past Sunday for Mothers Day. This was not our first time dining here, but it had been a while. We could not have asked for better service or better food. We have never had a sub-par dining experience at any Brennan's restaurant that we have dined in, and our experience at Palace Cafe on Sunday was up to the standards that one would expect from a restaurant from the Brennan family. I had the pepper crusted seared duck breast with the foie gras and mashed parsnips with a citrus frisee salad. Our waiter Robert said it was the best dish on the menu, and I have to say it was! We will be back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to eat!We shared the crab cheesecake (which was really more like a crab quiche). It was topped with a mushroom and brown sauce and was truly one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. And I do mean ever! We also had the banana bread beignets. They weren't traditional beignets, more like donut holes, but the bourbon sauce on top was amazing. We also shared the Gulf Fish Panzanella, which was pan-fired mahi mahi, olive bread croutons, fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and greens. It was really delicious and they were kind enough to split it for us and serve on separate plates. We finished with the bread pudding for dessert, which was also very good. It was different from other bread puddings we tried, but worth every bite. I highly recommend this place.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for dinner! The service is excellent with several people always attended to your needs. The ambience is nice. There were 3 strolling R&B singers. The house's special duck dish is best. The drum fish is OK. I'd like it grilled rather than fried.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday brunch was a delight.Sunday brunch was a delight. This is a beautiful restaurant and the jazz quartet added greatly to the experience.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA New Orleans great! This was our third time to Palace Cafe and they did not disappoint. We made our reservation and our table was accidentally given to someone else-the manager Levi stepped in and gave us an even better table and checked on us a few times during the meal. The barbecued shrimp was the best we had on our trip and pecan pie dessert was delicious. I would definitely recommend.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Regional FareFood and wine did not disappoint Several regional selections at reasonable prices. Finish with Bananas Foster prepared table side.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMwe started off with woodenwe started off with wooden saddle's, then moved to a blue cheese salad, then for entrees has andouille crusted fish and shrimp tchefuncte which were magnificient and we finished with bananas foster. our waiter was cory who was fantastic job and very entertaining. Ask for a 2nd floor window table.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food at a classic restaurantSimply put, the Palace Cafe has some really great N'awlins cooking. I enjoyed the crab claw appetizer and the mussels with alligator sausage served with pommes frites. Wow it was delicious. One of my companions had the Pecan Catfish and the other had filet mignon. All was delicious. The servers were very attentive and courteous. This place is a must go!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed the Jazz Brunch onEnjoyed the Jazz Brunch on Sunday morning. Loved the Bananas Foster beignets.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for adults and kids!We were in New Orleans for the weekend and my husband and I wanted to eat somewhere with great food and ambiance. The only catch was that we had our two young daughters with us. The concierge recommended Palace Cafe and I was hesitant to take the kids there since I knew it was owned by the Brenans family and thought it may not be kid friendly. Delightfully surprised. They were super welcoming to the kids and the food was outstanding. The Crawfish Mac and Cheese was awesome! My husband had the Catfish Pecan which he loved. My hubby's family is from New Orelans so he is picky about gumbo and he gave it two thumbs up. Of course we did the Bananas Foster tableside and our waiter even let our girls help. What a fabulous dining experience!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMthis was a really good restaurantthis was a really good restaurant well run by the Brennan's family... it represents an excellent choice for new orleans cuisine. I particularly liked the barbecue shrimp appetizer.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Palace is a special placeThe Palace is a special place for me. In town for Jazz fest. The Palace never fails.
From the appetizers through bananas foster and port.
All good very attentive service!
Excellent!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been coming here duringI've been coming here during Jazzfest for 10 years now. It has always been a great dinner experience and this year was no different. Exceptional service; water glasses filled without asking-just very, very attentive service. Food was Great! I had the soup du jour (a zesty cream of something)and the Andouille Crusted RedFish which was excellent! Tasty deserts...I can't say enough about this place. I had requested a 2nd floor window table (on-line) and was pleasantly surprised when we were seat-2nd floor window! Again, the wait staff is superb!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were traveling to New OrleansWe were traveling to New Orleans for the Jazz Fest and made reservations sight unseen except for the reviews on Open Table. We were very pleased. Food was good, not outstanding; service was good. Our table was waiting for us when we got there and everyone was polite and very accommodating. We enjoyed our evening very much. We came with two other couples and we were here in New Orleans with a travel club consisting of 50 people and we did recommend the Palace Café to others in our group. We would definitely go back again.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Lunch SpotMy family & I had a great lunch at Palace Cafe. The service staff was very attentive. Our food was excellent. We had duck gumbo, chopped salad, andouille crusted fish, creole panini, & the cochon de lait pot pie.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI like to change up whereI like to change up where I dine whenever I am in a food city like New Orleans. But, the fact is, that no trip would be complete without a stop at the Palace Cafe. The service is impeccable, the food is perfectly portioned and seasoned, and the prices are remarkably reasonable. I would heartily recommend the Palace Cafe to any and all. Try their Woodford cocktail with ginger syrup. It is a wonderful drink.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Feeling of Royalty at the PalaceMy wife and I went to celebrate her birthday. We had been last year for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food, servers, and ambiance are fantastic. But, that GREAT Jazz Band is what makes our visits worth returning. I requested that the Trio play at our table. They played Basin Street Blues with rhythm and a toe-tapping beat that is exuberating and let's you know you're in New Orleans. Karen and I both enjoy the personal touch and smiles worn by the band. It's as if they are singing just for you and that great feeling is indescribable and makes the whole dining experience worthwhile!
You are treated like royalty by everyone on the staff.
The Palace Cafe is one of our favorite places. We will definitely be back!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe whole experience was wonderful. The whole experience was wonderful. The ribeye was obviously a quality cut and was cooked as ordered. The andouille encrusted Drum/Sheephead was perfect as well. We tried the sweet potato soup and it was outstanding as well. I will be back.

Lafayette,LA4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent roasted duck breast,Excellent roasted duck breast, so-so roasted chicken. Appetizers and salads very good. Service unusually good.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA great dining experienceA great dining experience for brunch. Profesional, friendly staff, and food to match. My wife's shrimp with sauce was the best dish she had on our three day trip.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGood times roll at Palace CafeClassic and classy but informal and fun NOLA. Affordable for Brennan food means good value. Canal Street casual. Go early for better service, it does get busy after 6:30. We go here every time we are in town and it never disappoints. Still can't choose between turtle soup or seafood gumbo, they are both so complex and yummy. To truly enjoy the food, ask to see the recipe book tableside and see all the trouble they go to making the dishes. Also the history of the place is interesting.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious brunch comes completeDelicious brunch comes complete with Dixieland trio who play requests table side. The Palace Cafe is beautiful, the food is excellent, service superb, and the ambience can't be beat. A quintessential NOLA experience.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall experience was excellent.Overall experience was excellent. We made out reservation online for our anniversary dinner and when we arrived they seated us right away. The wait staff was out of this world. As soon as we say down we had a waitress pleasantly serve out drinks and let us know that her head waiter would e over in just a few to discuss the menu. The other waiter came over and knew everything about the menu items and helped us with our decision. The price was a bit high but the service made it worth every penny.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA great place to celebrateA great place to celebrate my daughters birthday. Beautiful atmosphere, a table next to the window overlooking the vibrant street scene, and a trio of wonderful singers serenading our table. The food was delicious as always, especially the crawfish mac n cheese. The only thing that prevented this from being a perfect evening was the slow service.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWait staff seemed confusedWait staff seemed confused about which of them was doing what -- desert never arrived for one of our party until asked about it. Crawfish mac 'n cheese was excellent, but arrived cold (not cool, but cold), which was immediately corrected. Food was overall excellent, but the team approach to waiting the table only ended in confusion. Two of our party had been there before, and had encountered the same problem. Nonetheless, I would go back.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMDining at the Palace CafeDining at the Palace Cafe in New Orleans was very good. The service is EXCELLENT!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great for bigger groupsReliably good food and great service every time we go. Interesting, locally influenced menu with locally grown and caught (raised) produce, seafood and meats. Upstairs is a great spot for large groups, which they handle quite well. In my book, if you're in NOLA with a large group for a conference/seminar/meeting, no other local restaurant handles a crowd as well as the Palace.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing. Better than I remember.Amazing. Better than I remember. We were celebrating my daughter's 15th birthday and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The food is amazing. Great window view of Canal Street.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is always outstandingFood is always outstanding and the service outstanding!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect birthday outing!Food was wonderful and service was excellent. Enjoyed our time there. Sat upstairs by window could watch all the activity on Canal Street.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMy family and I went for theMy family and I went for the Easter jazz brunch. The kids loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, and we all enjoyed the jazz trio. They had a small kids menu that our kids were happy with. The bananas foster biegnets were tasty but the dough was a little heavy. My oldest son and I really enjoyed our plates of food. He had the chicken pantalba and I had grilled fish with a delicious warm salad that had kalamata olives and olive crutons. My husband had the eggs benedict with pork debris. He loved the egg part of the dish, but he was a little overwhelmed by the amount of pork on the dish. If you love pork, you will love this dish! The place was packed but service was really great, and I appreciate that!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and BeautifulWe had a wonderful Easter Brunch at Palace Cafe. From the attentive waiters and excellent food to our beautiful table by the window overlooking Canal St - everything was top notch. We are local New Orleaneans so we expect a lot from our restaurants , especially if they are Brennan owned. Palace Cafe exceeded our highest expectations. Definite do over - we can not wait to go back.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I had a wonderfulMy wife and I had a wonderful dinner here. We were very skeptical that it may be a tourist trap, but we couldn't have been more incorrect. The waitstaff, atmosphere, and food were all top notch. We were seated overlooking Canal, which was enjoyable to watch the city buzz. We will definitely be going back.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, excellentExcellent food, excellent service, very convenient location to major hotels on Canal street.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
