So glad I found this one closer to where I live. I fell in love with the Chicken Tawook when I ate at their Belmont Shore locations. This one is exactly like the others except perhaps a little bigger (bonus!). We had a great lunch. Can't wait to go again.

We had a great time here. The drinks, food and service are all on point! The mixologist definitely knows how to make some amazing concoctions. Try the beirutini and yalla baby yalla. I look forward to trying others when back. It's a small place and was very packed on a Saturday night but they were organized about seating everyone as expeditiously as possible. Our waitress was very sweet and energetic, service is a huge part of the dining experience and they clearly are aware of that here based on the staff encounters we observed. Looking forward to returning and taking more people to introduce them to this lovely establishment.

I went to Open Sesame after noticing it a few weeks ago after eating next door (BLD). I was pleasantly surprised. The menu was full of options including a fine cocktail assortment. The service, from hostess, waitress and management, was wonderful. The food was full of flavor and great portions.

We came for dine LA, and it was great. We sat inside but it seemed like outside had a slightly better ambiance. The portions are pretty large. Loved the pita bread and chicken schwarma, and the Lebanese ice cream was also delicious!

I grew up in Long Beach, where the original Open Sesame is and I was a huge fan there. When it opened up in Los Angeles I was ecstatic, the food is truly authentic- made fresh, phenomenal vibrant flavors, a combination of classic and seasonal specials and it's healthy as well!! The ambience is really quaint and the service is super friendly. I love the addition of the bar, if you're looking for truly handcrafted and unique cocktails, I was blown away, they are amazing. Best dishes in my opinion are any of the kebabs, specifically the chicken Tawook and the fillet, they have a seasonal lamb dish that is superb and the fried potatoes and fried cauliflower. My craving and my favorite is the drink called Jalab!

The food is very authentic Lebanese cuisine, full of flavor and cooked to your desire. We ordered and shared between three of us the chicken and beef shawarma, charbroiled skewers of kafta, chicken tawook and beef kabob. The order also comes with your choice of a salad. We selected the Open Sesame and Tabouleh which were both fresh and delightful. Luckily we saved some room for dessert. We shared the baklawa with both pistachio and almond ice cream; it was very good.

I am so thrilled that Open Sesame is in the Beverly/Fairfax area. There are so many selections from which to choose - I could eat there every day. Everyone I have taken to feast at Open Sesame has had nothing but the best things to say about it. The servers are very friendly and helpful with suggestions. What are you waiting for - Go Now - and gave your taste buds a treat.

  • Excellent Food, Poor Management

The food at Open Sesame is amazing but the management could use some work. I made a reservation for 8 o'clock on a Saturday night and didn't end up being seated until almost 9 o'clock. Admittedly, I arrived 5 minutes late but when I got to the restaurant the hostess told me it was going to be a 20-30 minute wait. I told her that I had a reservation, but it didn't seem to matter. She offered me a seat at the bar until the rest of my party arrived and we proceeded to wait until almost 9 o'clock for a table. If the food hadn't been so good I would say that I'd never go back but they were very apologetic and graciously comped our drinks at the bar. I would definitely recommend Open Sesame...just not on a busy Saturday night.

I'm so happy they opened a location in LA. Now I don't have to drive all the way to LB to get my Open Sesame fix. The food is just as good as the food in Snoop's hometown, maybe even better. And they kept the LB prices, they didn't hike it up just because they're in LA. And our server was SO nice, sweet, and just on it. We'll be coming back again and again. It's been added to the rotation!

I've been a longtime fan of the Long Beach restaurant. So glad to have an outpost closer to home with no diminution in quality. My friends and I at well (mostly mezze) and were able to hear ourselves speak -- imagine, actually being able to eat well and have a conversation at a Los Angeles restaurant. As one of my pals said to me, "Oh, I'm going to be coming here a lot!"
