Diner Reviews
  • "The staff here was amazing!! They made it a very special and fun experience. The banana's foster tableside made by the Sicilian guy were amazing and the guy himself was a character. Our waiter really took care of us and made the night fun as well. The food was great and the prices aren't bad either. I'd go back in a heartbeat."

  • "This may be the most charming restaurant in Denver. It is intimate and inviting with a fresh rose on every table. Michael is the maître 'd and his father is the chef. They are both warm and welcoming. They are from Sicily and the exquisite food is a testimony to their wonderful heritage. The four of us had rack of lamb, pasta, salmon and veal. Each was delicious. It is simply my new favorite restaurant."

  • "We were encouraged by the good reviews. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The server was nice and helped us select a good bottle of wine. The crab cakes appetizer was mediocre. The mushroom ravioli were swimming in soup and rather bland in flavor, and the cavatelli pasta was overcooked and was also lacking in flavor. The chef was supposedly from Palermo but he'd undoubtedly be out of a job in his home country."

  • "An old - style dining experience.A busy little place that is full of life. Extremely friendly staff, the food was superb. Reasonable (realistic) prices were also a nice surprise. It's one of those places where you can't decide what to order because of the abundance of appealing choices. I will be going back!"

  • "I had the Gorgonzola and Sun Dried Tomato Bow tie pasta, it was delicious and I recommend others try it! Our group also had the Seafood platter which was plentiful and tasty. The meals come with bread and salad, the Cesar salad was less than impressive, no flavor in the dressing, no croutons and 1 tomato in each of our salads. We were seated in a corner booth that I think had the dishwasher on the other side of it, it was very noisy and annoying. The floor and booth seats are worn out and look a little dirty. Our server was great, very knowledgeable and helpful. overall good Italian place in a great neighborhood area. Parking is very challenging, allow extra time for that and plan to have to walk at least a block or two."

  • "Going out to dinner can be something quick and satisfying, but those times when a dinner turns into an event is something special. I made a reservation through OpenTable and specifically asked for the back room table because it was our friend's first time to Odyssey. We had no idea that our friends would announce that night they were expecting their first child, so it made the night that more special. Well, Mike and his father Ignacio made the evening a really great event and something memorable for all of us. Ignacio created a red snapper main course right in front of us as well as bananas foster. Mike treated us with care and great service the whole night. I want to thank them for making it a great evening for us and our friends."

  • "First time here, and will absolutely be back. Within our first minute, we were greeted by several of the employees, explaining what they would be doing for us. Truly a family affair. Good wine selection, and we took them up on their "feature" wine of the evening. The staff is well educated on the menu, which is unique in it's own right. This is a quaint place, and you can tell that everyone there is doing everything they possibly can to truly make you feel like part of their family. The owner made conversation with every table while we were there, and offered to spend a little more time than we expected at ours- by finishing off our excellent meal with bananas foster prepared table-side, great show. TOP NOTCH service."

  • "Our daughter introduced us to Odyssey - we're so glad she did!! The delicious food is excellently prepared and presented and very reasonably priced.. The service is special - go and see what we mean. The setting with roses, beautiful music, and special wines promotes a very special ambience. While service is timely, don't plan to eat and run - you'll want to relax for a couple of hours and take it all in."

  • "I'm in the Dermatopathology business and have been since 2001. I've eaten at 4 and 5 star restaurants all over the country including 2 different Emeril's during business dinners and entertainment events for specialist and sub-specialist physicians. THIS WAS THE BEST DINING EXPERIENCE IN CAN REMEMBER EVER HAVING!!!! We ate at Elways twice, Morton's, and the Capital Grille twice just last week. Dinner and drinks at Elways with clients was well over $5,000. The service and quality of the food was not close to Odyssey. The tabs were all multiples of that at Odyssey. Michele Mulei was awesome!!!! Emma, et al, went way above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks to OpenTable. I finger stabbed my iPhone and found the best restaurant ever!"

  • "Michele and staff went out of their way to make our niece's 16th birthday special while she was visiting us for her Spring Break. We were seated at their most special table (a large cozy table in their window nook by the fireplace) and the table was a dazzling sight, with fresh roses, beautiful lighting that sparkled off the glassware, and covered in fresh rose petals. The meal and service were outstanding as always. And, of course, MIchele and staff threw in a birthday song and a complementary dessert for the honored one. My niece commented afterward that it was a birthday she'll always remember."

  • "A friend told me this was a "must visit" when visiting Denver and I have to say I was very impressed. The staff is friendly, attentive and competent. The "old world" recipes of the multitude of Sicilian inspired dishes are well-prepared and expertly timed to arrive for a relaxed dining experience. A Denver MUST!"

  • "We had a fun time. From the Malbec tasting to the veal, it was delightful. The risotto received raves: not too heavy! We committed to return. Our server, Michael, was very entertaining, sweet and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the entire evening and made it to the theater on time. Try it."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Odyssey and highly recommend it. The ambiance is warm and friendly and the service is excellent. The owner/chef offered to prepare our entree table side and it was fun and delicious. It is definitely a cut above most other Italian restaurants and we will go there often."

  • "A fan of Odysseus and his travels back to Ithaca, the name of the restaurant initially interested me. I looked over the menu and reviews, which were complimentary, so I booked a reservation. It was sensational. By the time night was over, my party of five was satiated and a little intoxicated for a very reasonable price. We loved the tangible passion of the heir apparent executive chef, Michael. He took us on a culinary odyssey. Educating us on the distinction between Sicilian food and other Mediterranean cuisines. We were also invited back for the opening of the upstairs! Needless to say we are excited to head back for that event as well as for other occasions to enjoy the passion and great food."

  • "Fabulous made from scratch Sicilian food, incredible attention to detail. A lovely wine list, and friendly, attentive service. We dine there on a regular basis, and I have tried a number of different dishes--have yet to find one that wasn't excellent. Sometimes the main courses come out slowly on a busy weekend night, so go with the intention of taking your time and enjoying the evening. It's worth it."

  • "We were new to Odyssey, and had a wonderful night. The food was delicious. The atmosphere is warm and feels like a special night out. The staff was very welcoming, including the lead chef who made adjustments to meet our gluten free and other dietary needs. This is a classic style, Italian restaurant in an easy to park location. A great place to sit and talk."

  • "We love the food and service at Odyssey. You don't feel like you're eating at a restaurant but rather invited over for dinner. Truly a great experience every time!"

  • "This is a great little Italian restaurant. The food was very good, service attentive and the owner/chef is a delightful man. He came by our table several times to make sure that we were doing well. Gnocchi appetizer was outstanding - soft and fluffy in what was obviously a homemade sauce. Veal marsala was good - a little heavy on the butter, but still good flavor. This is a nice little place that has good food and isn't pretentious."

  • "The space upstairs is interesting. The lights felt too low. Our waiter promised a cheese sampling that didn't show up until we asked for it later. It was a nice meal, but had it occasionally ruined by the dinging of what sounded like... a microwave? If you are laid back and drinking some vino, this would be the place for you. We had a party of 4 with 2 kids, and a dessert reservation to get to as well. We weren't seated at our reservation time, but stood around in the bar area (high traffic and not much space for 4 people to chill, especially one who had just had foot surgery and walking around in her "boot"), so that threw us off before we even started. I really did love the spinach ravioli. No one can argue their food is great!"

  • "This place is amazing, that's the only way to describe it! The friendly greeting as you walk in to the wait staff throughout the meal, the staff is top notch! Attention to detail is observed and by the end of the night they will be your best friends. The chef mixes throughout all the table and visits with each sometimes preparing your appetizer right there table side. The quality of the ingredients is evident in the robust flavors of each dish! The portions...generous!! The prices....unbelievable!!! This is truly a hidden gem! I drive by it all the time and I don't know why haven't stopped but it's definitely on the list of places that I will continue to eat as often as possible!"

  • "Wanted to try a new restaurant in the are and came across Odyssey. Saw some decent reviews on it and figured to give it a try. Really was quite surprised to find such a great little place to eat. First, the staff was great. Our waiter really would spend time to talk with you and explain everything really well. He really seemed quite passionate in providing a great experience. I loved that he allowed us to try wines before committing to a glass or bottle. The food came out delicious. We were told everything was made fresh from scratch and it definitely tasted like it. Everything was really quite good. All in all, the experience was great. Definitely going back. Would love to go in the summer for a patio experience!"

  • "Our initial visit to the Odysssey was almost magical - which is why we returned for Valentine's day - unfortunately, this time was not so magical! I never realized how a server could impact a dining experience. I really feel this was an ""outlyer" and that the Odyessey is a wonderful restaurant - we feel the cozy atmosphere, along with Michael's gracious hosting and the delicious food" more than compensate for our recent experience. There is an amazing server with a bit of a southern drawl - we will ask for her specifically the next time we dine at the Odyssey!!"

  • "The staff was welcoming and eager to please. Wine and whisky offerings were minimal, only two beers; out of several things. Food was mixed: nice lamb chops, good bread, weak and tomatoie bolognese pasta, ok mussels and salad - neither special. They've only been open a couple of years, but would benefit from getting a food expert to consult."

  • "This is a superb neighborhood restaurant that attracts people from all over Denver. The chef is highly skilled and the menu specials are delicious supplements to their standard Italian fare. The wines are well chosen with good prices. The ambience is quiet and cozy resembling a lovely Tuscan hideaway. The greetings when one opens the door are the start of an exciting dining experience. This is a SPECIAL place. I highly recommend it based on my world wide sampling of all types of cuisine."

  • "Me and my friend were the only ones there at first, So it was quiet, but by the time we got our dinner, It was crazy. Yes, it got busy, but uncomfortable, because Of lack of staff perhaps. No one even said, 'goodnight Or thanks for coming in. Disappointing ! When the waiters had to keep going up and down The stairs with their formal foot ware , it became Louder and annoying. Oh, the owner kid talks very Loudly. It's almost as if he's in a theater class, anyway he's Very polite ! Give it a shot. I do like it !"
