Our group of 7 was seated in the foyer which was perfectly private for us although the music with lyrics was a bit loud for conversation. Our waiter spoke with unusual sylabification and I was a bit insulted when he read the entire menu to us instead of simply highlighting a few items that the menu had fallen short of enticing. Our meals came at all different times and the waiter had to ask each person instead of remembering or checking his notes who ordered what. Aside from the waiter's unpolished skills, the food was completely fabulous and we all were delighted to have the area to ourselves. Both the host and waiter were engaging but careful not to interrupt various conversations. How does a restaurant "run out" of hot water for tea?

We dined previously at Nonna and enjoyed our meal, so we decided to bring our guests. Unfortunately this experience was not up to par. The AC was not operational, and in addition to being stuffy in the restaurant, we were told the ceiling fans did not work.

Made reservation for our 25th wedding anniversary on Open Table and when we arrived at Nonna's they had no record of a reservation for us and were booked up! Fortunately I had my I phone with a copy of the confirmation # so they found a table for us but was a stressful situation that shouldn't happen. Dinner was OK but not what I was expecting from the "high end" description from the Homestead people. Atmosphere was loud with many children(some well behaved some not so much). For the money( some entrees $39) you are better off taking a short drive to Glen Arbor, Leland or Traverse City.

We have been going to Nonna's for years, but this year when we visited GA, I think it was the BEST! Delicious salads, first course small plates and main course entrees. We loved it! They even go all out with grass fed beef, which is still rare these days in most restaurants even though it is soooo great and so much healthier for you.

Pleasant atmosphere. Quality food, especially the soup & salads. Good service. Good offering of local Michigan wine. Limited, but best local wines. Pastas failed to excite.

We had a dinner reservation for 3 people at 8:30 PM using OpenTable. We drove an hour and half and got there at 8:30 sharp. We were asked to sit a the bar until our table was ready. There was a table set for 3 that was set-up and we were the only party waiting to be seated. We asked if we could sit there and they said it was reserved for someone else. After waiting 30 minutes at the bar looking over at the empty table for 3, we told the host that it was totally unacceptable. He said he would see what he could do and didn't come back. We went to his station after 5 minutes and he was just standing there and looked lost. We said this was TOTALLY unacceptable and we left. Very immature staff and poor management. Don't waste your time

Nonnna's is a delightful restaurant within the Homestead complex. Easy location just a few miles from downtown glen arbor. Their cocktail and wine selections are well matched with a tailored and sophisticated menu. We enjoyed calamari and grilled meatballs for appetizers accompanied by delicious complimentary bread with olives and garlic in oil. Pasta and entree selections were strong. Seafood stew and tagliatelle with rabbit confit. Service was friendly and helpful albeit a bit undereducated on menu details. Overall a great evening!

Food was ok. Very limited menu. Seemed a bit pricey. Wine was very good. We were seated outside next to a playground. Host never asked our preference for inside or out. We then asked to be moved inside. A waiter for the table next to us was explaining the entree choices to a couple and discouraged them from getting the meatballs, which we had just ordered. Very tacky! We were disappointed in the restaurant, especially since we went for my husband's special birthday celebration.

Amazing good with an option for all the different tastes in our group. Every meal was enjoyed by each of us. Our server knew the menu well and was eager to help us each make food choices that fit our personal likes. Very attentive

  • Good food, weak service

The food was good, but the service was weak. We were a large party (6), but the staff seemed harried and confused with our orders. Some of our drink orders required multiple reminders to multiple waiters--and still took an exceedingly long time to arrive. Some of our orders were wrong (e.g., dressing on the side for our salads.) The waiters were nice but seemed rushed and brusque. One person smirked when we wanted our salads returned because they were dressed and we asked for dressing on the side. The person who explained menu items went through them so fast we could hardly make sense of what he said. After a waiter singled out one of our party as a "slow eater" who held up everyone else's entrees, the entrees suddenly arrived.

4 of us ordered dinner, 3 were served. I was done eating by the time our friend received his meal. Not the first time this has happened. My dinner was Sea bass which came with nothing but the fish. Ordered 2nd wine, was ready for the check by the time it came.

We've been coming to the Homestead every year for the past 6 years, and have always looked forward to a great meal at Nonas, but this year was different. All of our dishes were quit salty starting with the bread, the chicken entree and beef tenderloin. There was no flavor in any of these dishes other than salt. Given the expense of the mea, it was very disappointing. Furthermore, our waiter was inexperienced. He couldn't explain the menu choices. When asked what a twice cooked pork chop was and he didn't know, and didn't offer to find out. The main courses arrived to the table at different times, forcing some of us to wait with our dinners in front of us. Not a pleasant experience.

This Italian restaurant located in the heart of The Homestead Resort is not a place for families (unless your children are adults). Upscale and limited choice menu with unusual items not typically found in an Italian restaurant . You won't find the usual staples like lasagna, fettachini Alfredo or chicken parmesan. They didn't even have spaghetti or the kids. Who's ever heard of an Italian restaurant that didn't offer spaghetti? Prices were very expensive. My advice, leave the resort and take the short 5 minute drive into Glen Arbor to get great local food with much better choices and reasonable prices.

I found Nonna's to be quiet, relaxing and the classical guitarist most enjoyable. The wine selection was impressive and affordable. The steak and fish stew that my husband and I ordered was excellent and our server was pleasant, friendly and most helpful. We would certainly recommend Nonna's and hope we can return.

Server was ineffective explaining menu and chefs over reaching requirements i.e. no change in side vegetables whatsoever. Food was just average. We will not be back.

We enjoy a wonderful meal. We came with the intention of enjoying the Restaurant week menu but everyone found something on the regular menu they wanted to try and we ordered off the menu. Brought another couple with us that has not dined at Nonna's in a very long time. We all really enjoyed the experience.

The service started out excellent. Our waiter was flattering and funny. Before our entrees arrived he had checked on us many times. After we got our food, staff was nowhere to be seen. We had requested separate checks, as we were 6 women on a weekend trip. Apparently that was a problem. We had finished our excellent food (except for an overcooked steak), and waited for the checks for over 45 mins. Some of the women wanted a beverage, so we decided to go to the bar, and let our waiter know to bring the bills there. We were treated very disrespectfully at the bar. Again, separate checks was a problem (which it should not be). We were told we couldn't sit at a table because they were closing. It was 10 and other tables were occupied.
