Diner Reviews
  • "Upon ordering drinks waiter was insistent on certain drinks being gluten free when in fact they were not. When ordered a meal which contained corn bread , were assured it would be substituted. Once meal came out there were crumbs of the cornbread scattered in meal, obviously chef must have realized last minute of special request and removed it . Plus duck was over cooked and chicken overly salted."

  • "Getting very stale and old. Menu needs some updating. I realize it is a New Orleans landmark but this restaurant would not make it in any other town. Bland."

  • "This was my first time visiting NOLA. I am still not sure how I ended up there because I thought I made a reservation for Emeril's and found out I was at the wrong place after walking 20 minutes. I called NOLA and they were nice enough to push my reservation back. The menu of course was completely different than Emeril's. I had the NOLA lemonade, one of the best crab cakes I've ever eaten, and the salmon and couscous. The food was great and it was very quiet. The only complaint I would have is that the menu selection is very small. I wanted fish but had to settle for salmon."

  • "There is little that I can add to the headline. NOLA has AMAZING food, service, and sits in the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans. The food started out phenomenal with rolls and cornbread to die for and just got better culminating with a dessert course that made me want to move to New Orleans right then and there. The only thing that might have made the experience better would have been an appearance from the legendary Emeril himself. The pork cheek po' boy melts in your mouth, the crab cakes are insanely good with massive lumps of crab and a corn relish bed that is so good it might make you forget your name! The profiteroles were just BAM!! There was simply nothing not good there at all. If you're in New Orleans, eat at NOLA!!"

  • "Well NOLA didn't let me down. They came highly rated and was well worth the wait. The fries are to die for. Great food and awesome service. If you are in the NO you have to visit this Emerald Restaurant."

  • "We waited almost 45 minutes for our food. Although it was well worth the wait, our waitress was not very informative or concerned with the face we waited so long. After she brought out our gumbo she did not return. We had to ask someone to retrieve her to get a status on our food."

  • "From Jacqueline(NOLA) changing our reservation from 2 to 12 people weeks before to Paul, captain of our waitstaff saying thank you and good evening at the end, we couldn't ask for a better experience. The table service was impeccable. OH! BTW THE FOOD WAS TERRIFIC! Stuffed chicken wings, steaks to duck and the banana pudding cake, all must try. I've always wanted to experience NOLA and I'm so happy I have and WE Will again. Someone in our party stated that this was the best meal, restaurant, experience of all the restaurants we visited in the four days we were here in. New Orleans. Thank you Emeril, staff and Open Table."

  • "Food takes a bit longer to come out (made fresh), but well worth the wait. Had the shrimp and grits - absolutely divine. Party member had the burger which was extremely yummy as well. Drinks were delish (had the Cosmo) and the staff is really attentive. All in all -- our only complaint in the moment was a slightly longer than usual wait but the floor manager addressed it and made things flow smoothly remainder of evening. If in NOLA, go to NOLA!"

  • "The ambiance was beautiful and the waiters helped us pick the perfect dishes. This was our last meal of the week and I'm so glad it was because it was by far the best!"

  • "My friends and I visited NOLA for the week of the Essence festival. This restaurant was perfect for our first dinner in New Orleans. The The purple one just made an appearanceentire staff was attentive and accommodating. Our waiter Towsnend took great care of us and the teamwork was refreshing. The manager Tim was present and made sure that our evening was perfect. The food was fabulous and we had the best Riesling ever. I may have to sneak back for the creme brûlée trio before I go home."

  • "Waitstaff IMPECCABLE. Maquette Choux with crab cake was WONDERFUL. Duck and andouille gumbo BEST IN TOWN and the trio of pot du Creme flavors raised the bar on what was already my favorite dessert. This is the meal I will remember from my four days in New Orleans during Essence and Independence Day madness. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for reminding me why I endure a seven hour train ride to get to NOLA."

  • "My husband had the duck and I had the drum (fish). Both were exceptional! The wine list has a wide selection in all price ranges. The service was more than outstanding. Our captain, Nonnatus Chisholm and his staff were the best we have experienced in a long time at any restaurant. Highly recommend if you are in New Orleans. It will not disappoint!"

  • "From the time you enter NOLA you understand you're in for a treat! Staff & manager attentive referring to us by name (do reserve!). Food exquisite from Emeril's BBQ shrimp to Southern Fried Chicken to Banana Pecan Ice Cream! We'll be back!"

  • "We first ate here in 2013 and thought it was great - we decided to try again to see if memory served correctly - NOLA did not disappoint! Our service was attentive and friendly. This staff clearly knows what they are doing! We started with the pocket bread which was simple yet flavorful with its oil and basil. Beet salad and Gumbo were spot on delicious. Entrees consisted of the drum and a special of the night - tuna. The drum was prepared with homemade bacon - I have never experienced a light mild fish in a preparation with so much salty richness. The flavor combination was crazy good. The tuna was by far the best tuna I have ever had - super thick and perfectly cooked (flash seared rare). Nola remains our favorite place!"

  • "The menu has something for everyone and every item is excellent. The stuffed wings are amazing and the shrimp and grits are outstanding. My friend had the grilled pork chop....I had a bite and it was delicious! Wait staff were attentive but not overbearing - the front desk was a little less welcoming. Walked in a couple of days later to see if we could get in later that night. We're not made to feel very welcome at all, so didn't go back even though there was an opening."

  • "My wife and I had one of the best meals we have had anywhere in the world! Fantastic service, great menu and wine list. The timing was well paced. Dishes promptly cleared away, water glass always filled. We tried some appetizers, salad, soups, entrée and even had room for one dessert with coffee. I hope to return the next time we are in Nola. Thank you Emerald and team, you made for a very special night for us."

The ambiance was great and the food was served with care. Loved the jalapeno corn bread! The chocolate dessert was a perfect finish to a wonderful tasty meal."

  • "This is a great place. The service it very good although our dishes took a little bit longer than I expected. Gave us more time for a nice relaxing conversation over appetizers and wine. The meal was delicious and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place."

  • "We're not regulars at NOLA, but we do go every few months. The menu is solid, and the specials are creative and enjoyable. Great craft cocktail menu as well, along with drink specials. We'll keep going back."

  • "The food was excellent and the service was also excellent. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because the noise level was very high. You had to shout to talk to anyone and that was a Tuesday night."

  • "I've been to dinner here several times, and it never fails to thrill. Emeril reinvents the comforting tastes and textures of New Orleans, and. . .BAM! The stuffed chicken wings appetizer dipped in hoisin sauce (nothing like the wings at your neighborhood bar) should not be missed, the garlic crusted drum fish was perfect, and a special key lime bread pudding was to die for! The setting is beautifully modern, the lights dim and romantic, and the service is both flawlessly attentive and charmingly friendly. Expensive? Of course, but deservedly so!"
