The Nicollet Island Inn has stood witness to over a century of change on the shores of the Mississippi River. The Inn is consistently named the most romantic restaurant in the area and its river views have been voted some of the best in the city. An immediately recognizable Minneapolis landmark, the Inn offers world-class cuisine created by Executive Chef Michael Rain , whose innovative and constantly updated menu includes a variety of seafood, steaks and gourmet specialty dishes. Our wine menu has been chosen specifically to compliment the food and highlight producers from the world's leading wine regions.

Nic's bar, just off the main dining room, is a casual, old-world tavern and the patio offers stunning views of the Minneapolis skyline. The Inn is a convenient, comfortable destination for breakfast or lunch meetings while the 3 or 5-course Sunday Brunch is the perfect weekend indulgence.

    Great location for a birthday celebration! The food was great and the service was excellent. And they gave us a complimentary dessert with a candle. Overall, a great experience.

    Food was decent but some of it was really overpriced. Deviled eggs …. Say that they had truffle oil, on the menu and it looked like they had some shaved truffle on them, but either they were rehydrated truffles or just mushrooms, and no truffle oil at all. The tomato spatzle soup with pesto oil was outstanding. The wedge salad is good but really enjoyed the chunks of blue cheese. The Wagyu pasta ~ though good the tomatoes weren’t ripe and seemed like an odd additional to the dish. Got the peach desert, said it had caramel, I didn’t see or taste it probably because there was so much cinnamon on it ~ like it was supposed to be a shake of cinnamon but the top fell off. Peach flavor didn’t come through as a result and it tasted like every fall apple cinnamon crisp or pie.

    I always enjoy the pleasant views, great service and good meal selections. I was happy to see vegan options, so now my daughter will accompany me.

    Our experience here was so lovely! From our waiter to the food to the quiet table by the window, it could not have been better! The steak was perfectly cooked and my husband and I were still talking about the meal the day after. We will definitely be going back!

    All in all a great lunch experience. Food, very good service was excellent. We had a great waiter, unfortunately I can’t remember his name. We were there celebrating a birthday party and it was a fun time with good food and great service.

    Terrific early evening mother daughters outing. We will be back (repeatedly) for the lobster ravioli! Next time we will bring the guys! Server was very kind and accommodating. Thanks for a great afternoon!

    My friend and I meet for breakfast about once a month at Nicollet Island and have been doing so for many years. The setting is beautiful, the food is excellent, and the service is superb.
