My husband and I split the
porterhouse steak and it was really good - nothing out of the ordinary with the exception of it having a slightly smoked flavor. The side dishes were pricey - we had a mac and jac - it was good but not extraordinary. For dessert we had a banana split and it was to die for. Our waiter was helpful and seemed knowledgeable and courteous."

We've been to both locations and
never been disappointed. Small restaurant gives an intimate feeling. Food is always varied and excellent."

Celebrated Dad's Birthday. Aside
from squeezing 6 people into a too small booth, our experience was enjoyed by all. The oysters were "best ever" . We ordered the Salmon, Cod, Redfish and Scallops. Cod was slightly underdone, sent back and returned quickly & perfectly done! All the other seafood dishes were excellent. We all agreed we can't wait to come back and repeat the order. We would request a table, as it was really difficult to have a conversation squeezed into that booth."

Our server was very knowledgeable
and friendly. The food was great and the perfect portion sizes. It is small and a bit hard to find at first; I'm not sure we would have found it if there hadn't been valet. The cozy "secretness" added to the charm. It is not a place for a large group. Not sure I would attempt bringing more than six. Definitely a place we will visit again."

You know.....I am really thankful
that I love the food so much that I am willing to deal with the AWFUL people working the hostess stand. The wait staff is amazing. The food is amazing. But, heaven forbid you show up 2 minutes late for your reservation. You will be punished and left sitting in the bar for up to 30 minutes even though they have no other guests to attend to and at least 1/2 the tables open. It shouldn't be like that unless it is peak time and loaded restaurant."
Dined on 2/19/2014
My only negatives were that it is
very loud and 5 of us were packed into a booth. We would have fit much better at a table. The food and our waiter were wonderful!!"

Neighborhood Services has such a
great reputation we were perhaps expecting too much. We were seated next to the bar and i sat on a highchair which is not the optimal dining experience. My wife was disappointed in the seating arrangements but did not want to go to another restaurant. The fried asparagus was excellent. We both had sole and it was very good but not any better than so many other baked sole dishes in town. My wife's dessert was outstanding. My desert resembled a hot lava cake but was not hot (it wasn't inteded to be) and not as good as what you can get at Chili's. When you take everything into consideration it was overpriced but we plan on giving it another chance and see if we don't have a better experience."

I thought it was good/average
food, I was certainly expecting great since it was rated #1 in D Magazine. Booth was a little snug for a couple of larger people in our party & not enough elbow room; asked if we could have a table instead and was told no by the waiter."No tables available, it is the day after Valentine's Day". I was impressed with the drink I ordered, something Sour kinda of like an Amaretto Sour without the Amaretto. Bravo to the bartender!!!"

Had the fried asparagus and
meatballs for appetizers and the London Broil for dinner. Top 5 dinner in my life."

Went here for an earlier
Valentine's day dinner with my boyfriend. The food was great - LOVED the fried asparagus and the scallop dish. The service was excellent. Our waiter took the time to described and gave great recommendations. Timing was good on each course until the dessert course. After waiting for what seems 20 mins, our waiter came by to let us know that something happened to the first dessert and the second was on it's way - on the house. Nice touch. Would definitely go back and recommend to others."

This place is awesome. A great
array of appetizers, main courses, and specials. Could almost be considered a steakhouse, but they offer way more then just steak and do everything very well. Would have to eat here a dozen times to try everything I wanted to. We got asparagus, meatballs, and the crab dip. The meatballs come in their "voodoo" sauce which is some sort of brown peppercorn type sauce and is truly outstanding. We then got the pork chop and delmonico. The pork was outstanding like everything else, paired perfectly with carmelized apples on top. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Make this a first stop in Dallas. Wish they moved to NYC."

Had a group of 4 girls for my
friend's 25th birthday, and it was perfect. We all eat Paleo, and could find tons of delicious Paleo-friendly meals - YAY!! That alone is a huge victory. Our server, Jason, was so friendly and fun. He really played up to our personalities which was smart on his part and made the evening even more fun. Birthday girl had the Sea Scallops and loved them. I had the Flat Iron & Fries (not called that, but I don't remember it's fancy name..). It was all OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD. We skipped on the dessert given the amount of cocktails we'd had (the Beauty School Drop Out is sneaky and delicious). All in all, a wonderful experience. I will be back for more special occasions."

Have been here several times and
the food and atmosphere never fail to please. I had one of the fish specials and it was wonderful. The fish was fresh and flakey - cooked perfectly - over delicious grits. One of my friends had the T-bone steak and smiled with every bite. And it was huge with plenty to take home to enjoy later. My other friend had the meatloaf over mashed potatoes - who uses aged beef in a meatloaf? Well apparently everyone should! We will be back because the food was wonderful and the service was excellent."

When my mother was visiting we
went here on a Tuesday night. She was incredibly impressed with the waitresses knowledge of the menu and wine. The waitress had a great attitude all night and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back."

I've only been a few times but if
you're really looking for some great food ... STOP NOW and GO TO NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES"
Dined on 2/4/2014
Everything was great except we had
a party of 6 and we were stuffed into a booth more suitable for 4. Everything was great, but I think we would have been able to really enjoy it if we were not quite so squished on top of each other."
Dined on 2/1/2014
Had dinner there on a recent
Saturday evening: our first time, and the food was delicious. A little noisy so might try it again during the week. Service was perfect, we had teenagers with us and they loved the food also, quite the testimonial! Loved the beet and carrot salad!"

We've never had a bad meal at
Neighborhood Services. Always great and such creative cooking. Thank you!"

After finally finding a
reservation that morning we reserved a table for 10 p.m. The food, servers, bartenders, and hostesses were wonderful. The staff was very friendly and personable, yet very professional. After trying most of the hot spots in Dallas, this is by far the best restaurant I have ever been to. It's underfroundish, sheek, and well managed."
Dined on 1/25/2014
I booked it for a Christmas Party
of 6. We were crammed in a small booth and a chair placed in the pathway. The food was okay and not terrible."
Dined on 12/21/2013
We had dinner here as a group of 8
and the food was fantastic. The energy was high, the wine was good, and the service was great. The next day everyoe was still raving about how tasty the food was. It was a great dining experience."
Dined on 1/14/2014
With reservations had a long long
wait. Could not fight through bar crowd to order drinks while waiting. Finally seated in the bar area which was offered as an alternative by very nice hostess. London Broil arrived in seconds it seemed; charred - as in burnt. Ruined the steak flavor. Beef Tartar lacked flavor - seemed un seasoned. So popular it seems that over crowding, noise and over tasked kitchen puts this on my " maybe later" list."
Dined on 1/8/2014
The food is awesome. Can't go
wrong with any choice. However, our waiter was less than helpful, arrogant and not at all personable. He looked annoyed when my family members asked for more explanation of the various specials. After taking our initial drink order of alcoholic beverages, he never asked us if we wanted another, although my glass was very empty after the appetizer, through the entree and dessert. I mean, it's to his benefit if we order more beverages, right? Higher bill = higher tips! I'm not sure what his problems was, but unfortunately it was noticed by everyone at our table. We love the food, and my husband and I enjoy dining here, but it will be quite a while before we bring guests again or recommend this place to others."

My daughter, her husband, their
two children (age 7 and 9) and my significant other had a beautiful dinner celebration at Neighborhood Services. We started with the Asparagus appetizer and the Chanterelle Mushroom flatbread. We all, even the children were thrilled. The entrees were equally delicious, the London Broil was a hit with the kids and adults alike. My son-in-law had the Schnitzel and thought it was one of the best he ever had. I opted for the Fish and Chips ... as good as I had in London and Edinburgh Scotland. We splurged with three fabulous deserts. Service was beautiful and the wine choices perfect. Thank you for a great celebration."

Neighborhood Services is simply
one of the best restaurants in Dallas - very consistent every time we go. And the Menu changes nightly - with new specials and new dishes. Service is outstanding; perhaps the best group of waiters in the city. If you have never been, worth a visit. A very enjoyable, very comfortable experience. If you go once, you will want to go back again and again."
Dined on 12/30/2013
I lived in Germany for a year, so
I'm picky about weiner schnitzel. Based on the restaurant's buildup I took a chance and ordered it for an anniversary dinner. It's the best I've ever had on this continent!!"
Dined on 12/26/2013
The outside of the restaurant and
the location may give you pause, but the ambience and the food inside is amazing. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Try the asparagus appetizer."
Dined on 10/11/2013
This place is great and we will
definitely go back. Its a small building that is a little hard to find, but has a great ambiance. Service was great. Waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Food was great. Asparagus starter was really good. I had the London Broil, great flavor and cooked exactly as ordered."
Dined on 12/14/2013
We have gone to NS many many times
in 2013 - and never had a bad meal or poor service. The choices provide a steady stream of ordering something different every time you go from steak to fish, to chicken to even a hamburger. Probably the best wait staff in Dallas. Fabulous Food & Fabulous Service. Highly recommended"
Dined on 12/19/2013
On our first trip here we were
very impressed. I had the AL T bone which was amongst the tastiest steaks I've ever eaten. It was cooked perfectly on the oak grill with just the right smokey touch. A side if roasted Brussels sprouts was the perfect side dish. Mrs. Ned had the burger and fries. She offered to share, and I can say its amongst the best burgers I've ever had. We were so impressed that we were tempted to come back again the next night and try the chicken and fish offerings."

One of my coworkers recommened
Neighborhood Services and it was a great time. It's not a very big location but what it lacks in size it makes up for in the food. The fried asparagus appetizer was tender and flavorful. I had the ribeye steak for my entree. I'm very particular about steak. I like my steaks seasoned well. No fancy sauces or seafood toppings. I want to taste the flavor of the steak. My ribeye was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. I'm actually going back to try the T-bone steak because the ribeye was so good. Our server was attentive but not over bearing. This is my new go to spot."

Supposed to be one of the top
spots in Dallas, but the fish they served my wife not only looked bad, but tasted bad too. Mac and cheese and dessert were also below par. Very disappointed."
Dined on 12/13/2013
The food was good. The waiter did
an excellent job. The bartenders were very friendly. We were seated in a timely manner."
Dined on 12/11/2013
We decided to give NS a try after
D Magazine rated it as the #1 restaurant in DFW. A birthday celebration after hunkering down through the ice storm gave us the perfect excuse to finally try it. The crab and green chili dip appetizer was delicious; the charred tomato salsa was also a hit. The menu is creative and offers something to please everyone's palate. The steak was aged, seasoned, and cooked to perfection; the ahi tuna loin was perfectly seared and paired well with the orzo. The custom cocktails are creative - such as the jalapeno cucumber martini. The wine list was good, however, the beer list was a bit bland. A few more craft beers on tap would round out an otherwise fantastic menu."

Highly recommend Neighborhood
Services... one of the best restaurants in Dallas. The food is great, the service is great, and the atmosphere is just right. Must order the mac and cheese! I had the sole (wanted the lobster and grits but it was sold out by the time we arrived) and he had the London Broil. Both were delicious. We ended our dining experience with the banana split and it's not like any banana split you've ever had- covered with dark chocolate and Butterfinger. YUM!"
Dined on 12/7/2013
Neighborhood Services is one of
the finest restaurants in Dallas. We do go often, and every time we enjoy great food and outstanding service. Numerous choices change on a nightly basis; some of the best steaks in Dallas and perhaps the finest wait staff for a restaurant in Dallas. We highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed."
Dined on 12/5/2013
The food was absolutely
flavorful!!! The meatball and crab dip appetizers were awesome. But, I have to admit that it was too loud for me. Having to raise your voice significantly to talk to a person across the table takes away from the experience. They need to install some sound absorbing ceiling tiles."
Dined on 11/30/2013
N.S. is always a hit, there is a
familiarity to most dishes, but there is simultaneously some twist on each item that keeps things interesting. The desserts are also classic and delightful. Waitstaff must have to take a short term memory quiz because each waiter has an encyclopedic ability to remember our order as well as details about each menu item. All of this without any pretense, and each server has a great welcoming and helpful attitude. Go hungry and be prepared to order several appetizers cause deviled eggs, asparagus, and tartares are no-miss! For some reason it feels like this restaurant should be in Brooklyn there is a retro-hip vibe to the waitstaff like they might have side careers in the band Mumford and sons."

The best! We have been fans on
Neighborhood Services for awhile! It is amazing..always! Make a reservation well in advance!"
Dined on 11/29/2013
Overall a great dining experience.
Our only complaint was that we weren't seated until about 45 minutes after our reservation time."
