  • "Took my sister to dinner here after recommended to us by locals. Great meal. Great dessert-pretty descent sazarac. Wait staff slightly less than attentive. I would go back anytime"

  • "We have enjoyed Muriel's for years and this year was better than ever!! Great friendly waitstaff and management, attentive but not overbearing, food was exceptional (best in New Orleans this year!!), etc. Just a great creole dining experience right in the middle of the French Quarter!! Will return next year!! "

  • "Make a reservation. My wife had drum and I had rack of lamb. Both were cooked perfectly. We shared a salad to start. Service was excellent - so was the atmosphere."

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed our Dinner at Muriel's. I had made reservations and, luckily, ended up at a small corner table at a window looking out onto Jackson square. I ordered the Double Pork Chop because I had seen a number of recommendations for that dish on-line. That turned out to be the right choice, because it was outstanding. We had never eaten at Muriel's, and we were a bit concerned about the dress code and how nice we should dress. I wore slacks and a dress shirt and that seemed just fine. There were a lot of people in shorts and sandals coming in off the street, and there were also people dressed in suits. The prices are high but not outrageous. Service was excellent from the second we walked in the door. No complaints!"

  • "Food is ok, nothing special. Would probably not go back with so many other options. Friendly service."

  • "My expectations were pretty high considering other reviews and the atmosphere. The service was good, not great which was upsetting. The menu and pricing was great. It seems as though the restaurant has not quite decided whether or not to be fine dining or just really nice. So overall we had a nice meal in a great spot, but that extra smile, welcome y'all, and not waiting for our menus and drinks would have been appreciated. The bartender could def use a lesson on faking a smile."

  • "Service was great, food was great, service was attentive and friendly. Skip Dickie Brennan's "tableau". They will make you wait then ignore you. Go to Muriel's, we had the same great experience all four times we visited. Definitely our "go to" place."

  • "Make sure you ask about Muriels and it's story and also make sure to ask to see the upstairs. They let you walk up stairs to a hallway where you can see handprints, the table that is set every night for the owner(a ghost/spirit) and then the crazy 2 rooms in the back. The food was very good the service and wait staff were the best we had all week. The story/tour we took really made this dinner extra special "

  • "FABULOUS EXPERIENCE - from start to finish - at Muriel's. Leda started us off with drinks in the bar while we waited for our table. She was so pleasant an happy, we almost stayed at the bar to eat dinner! We decided to venture into the gorgeously-decorated and plush dining room, where both Ashley and Joey took constant care of us as if we were royalty! We ordered the Very Highly-Recommended homemade seafood crepes, which were beyond belief. Truly! Those crepes were from another world - probably Heaven! And then there was their oyster soup, their turtle soup, their lump crab and shrimp salad and their homemade key lime cake. Folks, every last morsel of food was WAYYY better than astoundingly-good, as was the service! WOW!!!!"

  • "We had Sunday brunch at Muriel's. From the moment we stepped in it was wonderful. They have three different dining areas and strolling jazz musicians. The food met our expectations and exceeded them. Service could not have been better, we had two people serving us that work in teams. The jazz was very enjoyable and did interfere with our conversation. They have a bar and an upstairs area that is not to be missed. We loved Muriel's."

  • "We had a very memorable dinner here on a very busy weekend in the French Quarter. From the alligator appetizers to the final bite of bread pudding everyone in our party of six enjoyed Muriel's. Our table was ready for us when we arrived 10 minutes early and we were not rushed out even after the final bill was paid. Wonderful service, delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Add this restaurant to your next visit to New Orleans French Quarter!"

  • "In a city with so many options, I would choose another place to dine. We had a party of 8. Our service was mediocre. We didn't even get the bread until after the first course and we had to ask for it. Some items came out very good and others didn't. The fish was overcooked. The Escorgot is prepared in a very non traditional way, which was refreshing, however; it was so salty it was hard to eat. I have eaten here before and it was good. Next time, I will choose somewhere else."

  • "We ended our trip to NOLA with a final dinner at Muriel's. It was a fantastic choice. The decor was warm and inviting. I ordered from the pre-fixed dinner option. I had the alligator and the baby drum (fish) with bread pudding for dessert. All was delicious. My only negative (which is probably the case with a lot of restaurants) is that they made me finish my monsoon drink (purchased at a different venue) prior to being seated. The result was a slightly intoxicated and very enjoyable dinner experience."

  • "Food and Service were terrific. With so many restaurants to choose from Muriel's definitely stands out from the crowd. When you are in New Orleans be sure to have at least one night out at Muriel's"

  • "Muriel's was recommended to my small group by K-Paul's kitchen. On our recent visit we dined at both and hands down, Muriel's was the better experience. The service was first rate, the food choices mixed both classics and newer items. Everything was lovely - we'd all go again. First rate experience."

  • "Every time we visit the French Quarter in New Orleans we try to dine at Muriel's. This time we scored a perfect table in a corner by a window overlooking Jackson Square. The Prix fixe menu is always our choice for food that is both delicious and beautifully presented, and at a reasonable price. Add a great bottle of Malbec and dinner was perfect!"

  • "My dish was very good- and my companion raved about his. We had 6 people and I thought the service was very good. I go to New Orleans close to every year. This will make my rotation."

  • "We loved the food at Muriel's without question. Everything was superbly prepared and absolutely delicious. The service, unfortunately, could have been much better. Our drink order was never actually taken, we had to ask for drinks. And our glasses remained empty for so long, we didn't bother to order second drinks. We then waited a long time for our dessert order to be taken and when the kitchen server brought out our dessert, it was placed on a tray table and sat for at least ten minutes before a server came and gave it to us. Again, the food was amazing and maybe we were so disappointed with the service because the food was so good."

  • "We were in NOLA to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday, and we had a wonderful dinner at Muriel's. We were seated at a window table, as I had requested, and we had a lovely young woman take care of our drinks and make recommendations, and our waiter was excellent as well. We wanted to keep our meal on the lighter side, so I had the goat cheese and crawfish crepes, and the spinach and apple salad...both were delicious and the crepes were one of the best things I ate in New Orleans. My husband also had the crepes, and the mozzarella and tomato salad. For dessert we ordered the butterscotch black bottom pudding, and then they kindly treated my husband to the bread pudding with candied topping with a candle for his birthday. Both sinful!!"

  • "We ate there last year during French Quarter Fest and were very impressed so decided to go back this year. Again we both had great meals. My husband had the price fixed three course dinner which is an excellent bargain at $37.95. he had the pecan crusted grouper which was great. I had the seafood special which was also very tasty. Dessert was the bread pudding which we both loved. Waiters were very knowledgeable and did an excellent job."

  • "Don't hesitate to visit this wonderful restaurant while in Jackson Square. The food and service was excellent. We asked how one particular food was cooked and we were given the recipe! How extraordinary is that?"

  • "Wonderful experience! I had the citrus salad, pork chop and bread pudding. When I go back, I'll be sure to get the exact same thing! It was that good! The history behind this home is so cool, make sure and ask your server for a copy of their timeline and hunted history. We made reservations for 7pm, were seated right on time and stayed around 2 hours. You do not want to rush out of this place!"

  • "We went for the jazz brunch. Seated promptly, the wait staff was professional but did not try to connect. They had their system and speech, and we felt rushed. Food was very good (as expected). There was a mistake on the bill. When I pointed this out to the server, I was given an odd sneer, as if I was to blame. Never an acknowledgment, never an apology or recognition that we had been charged for an item we never ordered. We found this very odd and a pleasant meal was left with a sour after taste."

  • "Decided to spend my birthday in a new city–New Orleans! I picked Muriel's because of their high ratings on Yelp and the photos of the restaurant looked amazing. Not to mention, the menu I found online looked awesome. The entire experience was great. The service was pretty quick surprisingly, our server David was delightful, the Prie Fixe menu was fabulous deal, and they even treated me to a birthday dessert! The decor inside was quintessentially New Orleans. If it wasn't rainy outside, I would've loved to sit on the balcony. Thanks for a great dining experience! (P.S. The pork chops, alligator, creme brulee and bread pudding are to die for!)"

  • "The location off of Jackson Square is ideal and the balcony dining space is special. Food isn't Commander's level, but what is? Considering food and location and price, Muriel's was better than expected."

  • "Our first visit to New Orleans was thoroughly enjoyable. One past time this city provides is an endless array of memorable dining experiences. We were fortunate to spend an evening at Muriel's Jackson Square. Food, service, even the location of our table, was beyond our expectation. While we enjoyed our meal, we observed a haunted tour guide (in period dress) entertain and keep his group hanging on to his every word! That just added to Muriel's authentic ambience. We will be back!"

  • "Wonderful dinner in an old - maybe haunted - French Quarter building. Everything was delicious but be sure you save room for the incredible bread pudding."

  • "The food was superlative! And the service was warm and professional. Regarding the ambience, I had heard that the restaurant had interesting dining rooms. Well, to be fair, we did not ask for a look-around, but the dining room in which we were seated was dark and nicely decorated, but sedate. The other dining room (I don't know the name of it, but it was the brighter room) seemed to have a better mood and ambience. Again, the food was faultless."

  • "This was the second time that my wife and I ate lunch at Muriels while visiting Jackson Square. Both times were very good. While service was slow during our latest meal, the staff apologized and provided complimentary cocktails. Food however was outstanding - best, most tender crawfish I have ever eaten and there have been many. We will go back."

  • "Specifically booked and asked for a window table for our special occasion. (had even called and confirmed) They told me they were on time and led us to a table in the middle of the restaurant. When I brought it to their attention we had asked for a seat by a window, they led us to a table in a corner with two brick walls behind us and a window at the table next to us. The hostesses seemed bored and uninterested in their job, quite frankly. Service was ok, food was great, but a bit noisy for us and our experience had started on a bad note. We won't go back; we'll try something else next time."

  • "Prompt but unobtrusive service. Brunch was excellent. The turtle soup was to die for. Also let us check out the second floor which is apparently haunted and was very cool. Jazz during brunch was great."

  • "We had a good (but not a great) dinner at Muriel's Jackson Square. Some of the dishes were quite interesting, so were definitely so-so. The room was quite noisy with a batchelorette party which was quite problematic for one of our group who uses a hearing aid. The staff recognized the issue but were not very successful in responding."
