Diner Reviews
  • "The food was pretty, but lacking flavor. We were seated by many children, so the noise was bad. Overall it was disappointing."
    Dined on 7/21/2014
  • "Extremely overpriced Chinese food that isn't all that great. All 6 adults agreed that the food was nothing special. Most of the dishes were way below our expectations. Not one dish stood out. Simply put, when you eat there you are paying for the "name" and clearly not the food or ambiance. The service was very good but expect lots of up-selling and the "champaign cart" hustle is nothing but an insult. first/last visit"

  • "Had reservations for four but it was only two. I was there on time and had to wait for the captain to seat us. He came over and sized us up very quickly and escorted us over to a row of tables where the table had to be moved out for one to be seated...not fun. We ordered from the dineLA menu. The food was good but there is no intimacy as you could literally here every word of your neighbors conversation on each side. Not a good place to dine and talk. My second time out and I don't think there will be a third."

  • "The food was excellent, as always. But we were bummed to not be seated in the main dining room where all the action was."
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "The Service was great, the food was barely fair, except for one dish, I have had better food at PF Chang's Don't waste a ton of money going to this place."
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "there is nothing like mr. chow. the food is spectacular and nothing like it can be found anywhere else. the people who run the place from the hosts to the waiters to the busboys are all wonderful. everything is at the highest level at mr. chow. most remarkable because they've been doing it for so many decades."
    Dined on 7/9/2014
  • "the food was mediocre but it was Mr Chow..... You don't come here because the food is amazing folks. You can guarantee to see a celebrity, tonight it was the honorable Mr Larry Flint! We ordered the peeking duck w/several sides and mains. It was definitely over priced at almost $300 for me my dad & son."

  • "It was a good time but nothing to write home about.. Would I go again ? No!!"
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "I wanted to find out what all the fuss was about. The service is impeccable and transports you back to another time where going out to dinner was an event. The noodle show (live demonstration of Chinese noodle making with a flair) was fun to watch and great for a couple who has little to say to each other. The menu is impossibly limited, the food is average at best. The Ma Mignon is delicious, everything was no better than the place around the corner. All this for almost $200 for 2 people. I would Prefer to lose the noodle show and prepare better food and serve it in reasonable portions."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "Most of the staples are fantastic each and every time...the fringe items are ordinary. My water glass was empty for most of the meal, and the wait staff left empty serving dishes on our table for a long time. We had to ask for the table to be cleared."
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "never disappoints. Great service, great food. Every single time."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • " Very enjoyable meal with my new husband. Food was excellent, I would recommend the ribs and the lamb. Waiters very friendly and efficient. Only downside are the tables being so close together if you are sitting on the inside it's quite awkward to get out especially if you need the ladies during dinner!!"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • " Came highly recommended and delivered on every level. Great atmosphere. Superb food, the duck a real highlight. A must visit. Can't wait to go again."
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "Their food is extraordinary. It is very expensive if you go the Peking Duck dinner route but you need not. Food is consistently a+++"

  • "We had a great dinner at Mr. Chow's a couple of months ago and decided to try it but were disappointed this time."
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "Great food in a very nice place. excelent service."
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "Though attentive, the service is pushy in being suggestive and too quick to whisk away the food. We felt very rushed. One hint at standing and four servers pull your chair, push your arms in to your coat, nod, and motion for the door. "
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "Mr Chow is a legend in Beverly Hills and has to be experienced. The food is amazing, the service is super efficient and the speed of the kitchen is something others should learn from. My only complaint would be that its very crowded and the lack of high chairs for kids makes one think if that's their discreet way of saying "no kids please" :) "

  • "Always outstanding! The service, the food, the environment are always perfect. Same for years!"
    Dined on 5/25/2014
  • "I always expect the best from Mr. Chow, and they always deliver. The food is consistently good. Each dish has been perfected and always impresses. The attentive staff was sweet to have helped us celebrate our anniversary with a delicious dessert. Mr. Chow is a must, and the Beverly Hills location is tops. "

  • "excellent dining experience. definitely worth a return visit. be prepared to taste different and delightful dishes. dietary requests strictly honored."
    Dined on 5/21/2014
  • "What a delight. While visiting Beverly Hills we stopped in at Mr. Chow's for dinner. I was a bit nervous dining in a fancy restaurant with 2 small children. The staff seemed delighted that they were there! Recommendations were made as to what the kids may like and were spot on. Wonderful experience, can't wait to return."
    Dined on 5/19/2014
  • "Save your money. I would pay to watch the disgruntled Chinese noodle maker, but that's about it. Nothing special here."
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "Sorry to say it but Mr. Chow's is sorely overrated. The ambience at the Beverly Hills location leaves much to be desired (unlike the Malibu location) and much of your dining experience depends on whoever else is dining there at the same time. There's very little space yet somehow the restaurant is a loud echo chamber. The food is good, but definitely not worth the price tag; a $200 dinner for 2 should exceed expectations but this one unfortunately did not. "

  • "I was a little disappointed with the food. I expected it to be fabulous given the location & price. It was average. Nothing terribly special. The best dish we ordered was the steamed fish. Our server was great - very helpful. "
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "This was a business lunch and we were able to just sit and talk without thinking about what to order and we couldn't have ordered better if we had. They selected and we loved every bite from the tender prawns and juicy steamed pork dumplings to the crispy, delicious Peking duck and the succulent filet mignon. Fantastic food and service!"

  • "The foid is consistently good, never disappointing. Always packed, and a great vibe."

  • "The person met us by the door was really rude and non informant. We'd booked a table and expected to be seated but instead we where left by the bar with no info and had to ask after 15 minutes what was happening. "
    Dined on 5/2/2014
  • "It was lovely. We had the duck. We had informed them this was a big birthday celebration (40th) - even reminding them at being seated - but nothing happened. Not even a comped dessert. (Not that we were expecting that). But it made us wonder, why even bother. They were very nice and helpful and attentive. "

  • "The food was good but not how I remembered it to be. While the food was good and the service was good, the experience wasn't as good as it should have been given the location. "
    Dined on 4/25/2014
  • "The waiter offered to choose for us, not expecting our bill to be 350 for three people. He brung several entrees that came with 3 to five pieces so 1 piece of each & 65.00 per person for that was a little ridiculous to me."
    Dined on 4/24/2014
  • "I was looking forward to a great lunch at Mr Chow's, and while I was very happy with food and service, the lunch time vibe (on Monday) was pretty low. Apparently evenings are when the place is really busy. Next time!"
    Dined on 4/21/2014
  • "Just wanted a chance to experience the famous Mr. Chow that I have been reading about for years. I didn't pick the best dish but it was definitely an experience"
    Dined on 4/19/2014
  • "Wish we lived in Cali so we could visit here every week! tops in all ways! "
    Dined on 4/19/2014
  • "We have been to Mr. Chow several times. The food is always quite good and the service is spot on. I was a bit disappointed this time...there was a HAIR in the chicken for the lettuce wraps, and the waiter did not appear apologetic or horrified at all."
    Dined on 4/17/2014
  • "Anyone who knows MR C or has been to one of their various locations, this is not for a quick reasonable meal. $$$$ and worth every penny, really great food, really great service. What else is there to say!"

  • "Whether sitting in Beverly Hills or Knightsbridge London; Mr. Chow's superb kitchen delivers in equal measure. The decor is unique and the restaurant has a very vibrant feel to it. Swift and attentive service with a smile-a night we will remember for quite some time. Many thanks Mr. Chow! I genuinely have to say the service from the moment we entered to when we left was second to none; courteous, professional but with an element of friendliness not easily found within the 5 star restaurant fraternity. We are privileged to have been patrons of what is an institution for almost 30 years, and where every visit has been of equal standing. Mr Chow is an absolute must on the list of "100 things to do before you die"!! "

  • "mr. chow is really a great place. the food is incredible, service is impeccable... if you really want to impress someone, this is the place! it's hard to find an upscale Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles - but mr chow is just that. let your server know what foods you like and dislike, and he'll make recommendations. I always suggest taking that route over looking at the menu - much more fun! over the years, I have gone vegan and developed food allergies to wheat and soy, which really limits me at most restaurants, especially Asian food. but the guys at mr chow always make sure I have great food on my plate! they are very accommodating. this is my absolute favorite restaurant and has been for 10 years!"

  • "The food is lovely but the tables as all others have reviewed are too close together. They have to move the table for the person to get out. However Paul McCartney was there on our night"
