A word from Manny's Steakhouse
Masculine, bright, accented with wood & leather, Manny's evokes the great steakhouses of New York & Chicago - & eclipses them in critical & popular acclaim. Rated Top Five in the U.S. by the Zagat Guide, named one of America's top Steakhouses by both the Knife & Fork Club & the Independent Cattleman's Association, & a perennial winner of newspaper & magazine reader polls, Manny's commands a fanatical local following & a national reputation. Wrote the New York Times: "There's good news in Minneapolis for those who still share the secret pleasures of red meat, well-cut & seriously served." In addition to USDA-certified, dry- aged, center-cut beef, Manny's offers chops, chicken, fresh seafood & a Wine Spectator Award-winning wine list.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "This was our first time dining at Manny's Steakhouse. It was a business dinner. We enjoyed everything about this restaurant, the wait staff, the ambience, the food and drink. We had heard so many positive things beforehand, and Manny's delivered it all. Great for a very special occasion."

  • "It was my first time and it was a great service and food. I loved the atmosphere where its not 100% business but more business casual and relaxed. Also the wait staff was very kind and polite. I went with my girlfriend and I would definitely recommend it."

  • "Great for groups. Very loud for couples. Food is good but very rich. Almost too much food."

  • "Great classic steakhouse dinner. Food was excellent as was the service."

  • "Excellent fine dining. Doesn't get any better than this."

  • "The steaks were the best we have ever had! The family serving of sides was huge, there were only 2 of us and even with half orders we came home with left-overs!"

  • "I know most people go to Manny's for the steaks - but that is not the only great thing there. We started with the scallops benedict and it was fabulous. We tried the beets for a side and they were my favorite thing of the night, and I'm not usually a beet fan. The bread was delicious and the crab legs and steaks were great too. Service was on point and we all enjoyed our evening out."

  • "The food was great especially the bacon appetizer but the service was the thing that really stood out. My father ordered a steak from the specials menu. It didn't taste quite like he thought it was. When the manager came around and asked us how our meal was my father told him so. He was more then happy to eat it but the manager said that he wanted to give him something he'd really enjoy so he replaced the steak with a less aged one. Not only did he replace the steak but he didn't even charge us for the more expensive one. That alone will bring me back."

  • "On our March 14th lunch at Mann's my wife and i were disappointed with the quality of the food. The sirloin was tough and tasted funny, the fries were cold, limp and obviously cooked from frozen. For the price i would think they could offer a higher quality fry cooked from fresh potatoes. Service and atmosphere were both great."

  • "The food was amazing but the ambience was horrible, it was overcrowded, loud and absolutely chaotic . I would not return. It was a major disappoint for $200."

  • "Very busy, very open seating & very noisy/loud. I hate to give a nice restaurant a poor review and hopefully my experience is a rarity. I was disappointed with the ribeye and the spinatus - the"nutty flavor" from the dry aging process took away from a "natural Ribeye flavor" that I look forward to when eating a ribeye. The steak was not very tender all three times it came from the kitchen; the final time was finally the medium I requested but no tougher than the rare from the initial presentation. The potato wasn't piping hot & the creamed spinach was too garlicky and seemed to be served before it was finished. My fiancés filet was phenomenal (not dry aged) and we both really enjoyed the chopped salad. Wait staff didnt cover for each other"

  • "Manny's is what a modern steak house should be: a little old school in decor and great steaks paired with some more forward-thinking menu items like seafood and creative salads. I like to take my more conservative clients there who are visiting from out of town. The tall booths are great for private business conversations and the staff if very professional. Here's a shout-out for my favorite bartender -- Hey Spike!"

  • "Three stars overall: excellent service, but average food. Our servers were funny, prompt, & professional. The food itself was barely average. Our party ordered from the specials: 85-day aged ribyes and NYs; the bludgeon, and regular porterhouse (all were medium). The steaks should've shined, but they just weren't up to par compared to other high-end steakhouses. The bludgeon should have been outstanding--but I prefer the Tomahawk at another restaurant in TX (both are ribeye cuts). The taste of the beef was just not as savory and flavorful--and the plates were considerably cooler than what I would expect to hold a hot steak. Appetizers were OK: shrimp & bacon. Desserts were good: Bailey's cake & strawberries."

  • "We went here for lunch for our daughters birthday. We have always come for dinner so were happy to see that they had a Saturday brunch. So half of us had breakfast and the others had lunch. Our server was wonderful!!! Made our birthday celebration even more special. The only negative was the burger, we ordered them well done and they definitely were! I would suggest ordering them medium well."

  • "The taste, texture, and cut of their steaks are unbeatable! Our service was outstanding as well. I recommend going around 2pm when it's not busy... you get star treatment!"

  • "One of the best restaurants in the country. Excellent service (waters are attentive, knowledgeable, fun, engaging), fantastic and consistent food, huge portions, great wine selection, fun atmosphere, etc etc. I have zero complaints and absolutely love this restaurant!!"

  • "My husband and I were very impressed with the food and service and are planning on going back again. We both have high expectations when it comes to steakhouses and this is the best steakhouse we have dined at since we moved to Minnesota. The hostess and server greeted us like old friends and were very welcoming. The meat cart is a unique display of the various steaks/meats that they offer and allowed us to gauge how much food to order. The sides were good sized and the truffle fries were absolutely delicious!"

  • "We had our customary great night at Manny's. The steak was superb as always as was the dessert. Heidi was in great form and produced an excellent red to accompany the steak. She always makes the night. Manny's is a unique experience which is to be high y recommended to all."

  • "I'm always trying new places... But sometimes you just want to know what you're gonna get..and that it's good! Mannys ambience is warm and lively... Service is excellent. The cocktails are generous and the food is tasty and well prepared. Not inexpensive...but what steakhouse is? There is however something for everyone and with size able sides to share. Always a welcome, reliable meal out."

  • "They had our reservations, but I guess when I put "in bar" on request the guy hostess thought "bar area " It's March madness when someone asks to be in bar they actually want to be in bar to watorch the games They actually messed up my order but the only thing that got me was That a hole at the front"

  • "I've dined at Manny's before and had amazing meals. This past weekend, myself and another member of our party each ordered the ribeye and we were very unsatisfied. In the past, the marbilization was very good; however, this weekend the ribeyes were very fatty and grissly. When I pay that much for a steak I expect it to be flawless. That was not the case this Saturday. Very disappointed with what I had thought was one of the best steak houses in the Twin Cities."

  • "The food was excellent. My husband said his New York Strip was the kind that just melted in your mouth. The seasoning and flavoring of everything was great. The service was good, attentive, around when you wanted, but not excessive. The lobster cakes were amazing and we could've ordered a second helping. The loaded mashed potatoes had the most amazing bacon. The chocolate cake at the table next to us created a ripple effect where we had it after we saw it, and then when the table next to us saw it, they ordered it too. Everyone was extremely pleased with their meal and enjoyed steak coma."

  • "It is a very nice restaurant and the service was good, but I still doesn't sit right with me that it cost $377 + tip for three people to have a nice dinner. I have had equal or better experiences for a lower cost."

  • "Everything was PERFECTO! The service, the food, the dining area...everything! The Porterhouse is the best I have ever had (previously this title was held by a steak house in California). The Tomatoes with Mozzarella and basil was...well, lets just say it was the first time this winter that I wished it was summer so I could have a fresh garden tomato with basil. It tasted just like summer! Now for the finale...Banana Cream Pie. I am a connoisseur of Banana Cream Pie and my only complaint about this is the crust wasn't bigger because my boyfriend ate most of it! There was not a bad thing about that pie! Overall, I'd recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE. At least once. :) Bon Appetite!"

  • "Tables are so close to each other that the back of your chair touches the person behind you. Very loud, you can hear ever conversation except the one at your own table, you almost have to yell at each other. Terrible ambiance. The food coming on the cart to 'show' us your menu - adds absolutely no value to the experience, give me a menu - I know what raw meat looks like. The size of each plate is completely overwhelming and over-sized. Unfortunately the flavors don't match. Nothing here that I could not have duplicated at home, but all of home cooked food has seasoning and flavor. Great night out with my husband, just wish the food would have been memorable."

  • "Great experinece. Ultra-Prime beef. Over the top service. First time we have been to the new location. Exceeded expectations. Well worth the price. We will back soon. Not a place for children."

  • "Third time dining at Manny's, 1st time in several years. My "beef" with many high end steak restaurants is you tend to pay an uber premium for steak that tastes about the same as what you could do at home for a lot less. At Manny's, yes you'll pay the exhorbitant prices for their steaks, but you'll be hard pressed to recreate at home the dry-aging they do. So if any steak is worth $58, it is at Manny's. With tax and tip, assuming you are having a couple of drinks and a side(s) or salad, expect to pay between $100-150 per person. Service was off the charts excellent."

  • "Our server was totally awesome! We were in Minneapolis/St.Paul for state wrestling and decided to book a nice restaurant at the last minute to celebrate 3 of our birthdays. The presentation of the dinner options is part of the whole appeal of this restaurant and our server worked it well! We laughed a lot, ate a lot and had a wonderful experience. OpenTable is the way to go!!!"

  • "This place is good if you like to share the food. The portions are huge! Everything is al a carte. This means you order the meat, you order the potatoes ($15.95) and if you have any money leftover, maybe you can afford the vegetables. I like vegetables and we couldn't afford them. What a huge disappointment. The meat came more rare than I liked. The inside of meat wasn't even warm and very red. We asked for Medium rare. We shared the Filet Mignon. it was just ok. The hashbrowns were crispy and not flavorful. It is hard to get into this place. We had to book a month in advance and even then it was a late 8:15pm reservation, which I hated waiting this long for dinner."

  • "We were seated promptly and had a great experience. The food was excellent and had plenty left to take home and enjoy again. The prime rib was great - at medium it had plenty of pink but our server gave us the heads up so we were prepared. A fun relaxed atmosphere that fits a formal or casual night out."

  • "Although the price is quite high, the atmosphere and staff make Manny's a memorable experience. We had not been at the new location yet and completly enjoyed the experience. We live approximately 3.5 hours away and don't get to the Cities very often. We will definitely make Manny's a priority on our next visit."
