oysters were out of this world!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLuke was a great place forLuke was a great place for Mother's Day brunch. We were there from out of town and had it recommended to us. The shrimp and grits was excellent as we're the crab cakes Benedict (not the right name). Shared both of those with my daughter5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat DinnerWent for dinner this past Saturday. Food was amazing. Menu had so many good options I can't wait to return.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI'll have one of everything!I can't say enough good things about Luke. The food is amazing. Even if you're not an adventurous foodie, the burger is the best I've had. My only critism is that the bar service is a bit slow, but the food definitely makes up for it.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMvery impressed by the restaurant.very impressed by the restaurant. all the meals arrived very quickly looked spectacular, and were very delicious; so did everything that arrived at the tables around us!!! we shared a "HUGE" slice of the gateau basque between three people and were all very pleased. the only negatives I can give are: the gateau was a bit overdone on the bottom (but as I stated, it was a very large serving) and a request for lemon went unanswered, but I will be back to sample some of the other dishes on the menu!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent BrunchThe brunch here was outstanding. Luke's ambiance made for a a great brunch for our group of 6. We were able to read papers while we had coffee, espresso and bloody marys. The Eggs in a Jar with shrimp are not to be missed!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food.Get the Pain Perdu for breakfast! Very impressed with their food. Service was a little slow sometimes, but it was tolerable. Food came out fairly quickly.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent brasserieBooked at this restaurant as it was reccomended by a friend. It did not disappoint. The food was excellent. The ambience was casual, but more on the business casual, which was nice. The oysters were the highlight. I will reccomend this place to others.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and lots of variety.I went to Luke on my last day of a five-day trip to New Orleans. The food was wonderful and offered lots of variety. I was so excited to see spaetzle on the menu...yum. I only wish I had been in NOLA long enough for a repeat visit. I will absolutely hit this place again the next time I am in New Orleans.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHot spot in the Big EasyLively, energectic vibe with excellent food and beverage choices ... love the French bistro theme!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat happy-hour atmosphereSeven of us went there for an early Sunday supper. We wanted to go to a non-Creole/cajun/southern place for a change. They had a fantastic assortment of nibbles, including nice cold oysters, to go with the happy hour drinks. The entrees were fantastic as well. My only complain has nothing to do with the food - We were seated toward the back of the dining room, and every time someone came through the back door, the chilly outside air gushed in.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMgerman goodies - stateside!I was beyond excited to see schnitzel and spetzele on the menu for Luke, and the dish did not disappoint! I've been trying to find someplace to fill my craving for perfectly fried goodness, and the veal at Luke did just that. I'd also recommend the roasted jalapeno cheddar grits - they made a great impromptu appetizer.
can't wait to go back!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent RestaurantMy family and I went to this restaurant and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, we had the roasted chicken, crawfish bisque, ribeye steaks, the hamburger(best ever), and their handmade french fries are the best crispy no grease at all. I can't wait to go back and try more entrees. The cocktails are excellent as well! The service was outstanding, the wait staff all worked together, and they are all so friendly.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!!!We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night because we wanted to try more of the menu items we had a hard time passing on the first night and we were not disappointed! John Besh Restaurants Rock!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and FoodGreat raw oysters and steamed mussels among lots of other great food and drinks!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLives up to the chefThe menu is delightfully inventive and execution is spot on. The cocktails well worth the price. Note. Don't sit right next to the bar. I asked to change our table and was politely accommodated. I will go back anytime I'm in town5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a fantastic time, theWe had a fantastic time, the pork shank is amazing. Can't wait to go back and have it again. Jalapeño cheese grits were outstanding.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was wonderful .The food was wonderful . Happening place but noisy4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOur wait staff was great! Our wait staff was great! The food delicious! Overall great experience.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Luke for my birthdayI went to Luke for my birthday with a big group - 16 people total. We had two separate reservations, but they had no issue putting us next to each other and were very accommodating.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good. Menu isFood was very good. Menu is a bit different for NO which is a plus for me. Service can be a bit "indifferent" at times but didn't detract from our experience. For beer lovers, stay away from the drafts brewed especially for Luke and stick with the known quantities.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were seated next to theWe were seated next to the window which looked directly into the kitchen. Loved watching how it was run like clockwork and it was interesting watching the crew working as a team. Menu is very diverse, offering everything from a burger, duch, steak or fish. Something for everyone. My only complaint would be that it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe picked Luke as our dinnerWe picked Luke as our dinner spot for my husband's 30th birthday and had a great, overall experience. I feel like the staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the drinks and food menus. The ambiance was nice in that it has a fun "vibe" feeling, but I feel like the decor/linens could be improved. The dining area we sat in felt more like we were sitting in the kitchen (would be fine if that's the vibe you're going for) and the linens felt very cheap, like we were using dish cloths. Our waiter brought out a slice of cake, free of charge, for my husband's birthday, which was a kind gesture.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMHigh quality food in a casualHigh quality food in a casual setting served efficiently, what more could one ask? Well, a bit quicker attention to just seated guests would be nice. We were just thinking no one told the wait staff we were there when someone showed up. But it was fine from there. Gulf oysters were outstanding, weinerschnitzel excellent.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTry LukeLuke must have canned the energy of New Orleans and put it in one restaurant! It's light and clean and busy and fun! The service is professional and fast, the food is WONDERFUL and different than anywhere else...in fact, the food will change the way you think of some of your old favorites! They also have a well appointed bar and can make anything from Milk Punch to a drinkable Mint Julep! We make a point of going to Luke every time we are in New Orleans and we're always really glad we did!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTry it, you'll love it!John Besh's presentation of Franco-German cuisine is unique in all of New Orleans. The food is fantastic. This dining experience is a "must-do"! MeauxD4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFriendly professional waiters,Friendly professional waiters, really good food, fun environment. We loved the chicken grand-mere with smoky bacon and creamy mashed potatoes and also the rib-eye steak.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for our anniversaryWe went for our anniversary and had an amazing dinner and visit. The food was exceptional and the service was impecable. They gave us an amazing free appetizer for our anniversary. We liked it so much we even came back the next day for lunch.

thanks!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA must go for me while in NOLAI've been 4 times in 3 weeks. The food is fantastic, the service is great and the energy of the place is what I'm looking for after a long day in an office.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food not cheapNot cheap, but excellent food. Shrimp and grits was way better than it sounds and those who measure restaurant excellence by the quality of the french fires will be impressed.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMChef Besh should be proudI was in NOLA with 4 friends. We had dinner reservations scheduled at Luke on Monday, April 8, 2013. We arrived early for our 6:30 p.m. reservation, we assumed we would enjoy a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. To our surprise we were quickly seated and menus cheerfully offered. Within a few minutes our server arrived at our table and engaged us with his genuine southern hospitality. Our waiter displayed a very thorough knowledge of both the food and drink menus. We each ordered a 4 course dinner each was exceptionally prepared. The service was quick and efficient without the "rushed" attitude to turn the table. Luke was an all-around wonderful dining experience.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! The shrimp andGreat food! The shrimp and grits were amazing. A very friendly waiter!!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only thing I didn't likeThe only thing I didn't like was the table - it was way too small for four people.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had reservations for 8We had reservations for 8 am I had breakfast in a jar but the crabs were out of season. It would had been nice to know that before coming. You could have put something on the website? Shrimp was used instead. Since I love shrimp it was no problem.
Wait staff was friendly but very sparse. We had to wait to get coffee refills. Not good.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a group of seven forWe had a group of seven for a Thursday evening dinner. Honestly, everyone loved their food. From the Luke burger to shrimp & grits, lemon fish and two appetizers ( Flamenkuche & Rilllette of Local Pork)!everything was top notch. The atmosphere was lively & fun and the service was excellent!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA delicious lunch optionI was skeptical when we first arrived. The place seemed to be a hopping place for business lunches on the expense account. It was very busy and loud. They also happened to be out of the one beer I wanted to try. Not a good start. But, things improved from there. Our food was terrific. We both had the Luke salad, which was fresh and delicious. My husband loved the Cochon de lait and I had the Louisiana shrimp and grits. I loved the larger, hand ground grits and the cheese in them was gooey and flavorful.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely worth a return....Casual, comfortable atmosphere. Emphasis on fresh, local and top quality ingredients, i.e. locally grown produce, farm raised eggs, Chisesi's ham, P&J oysters, etc. Dishes tend to be very generous portions(the hamburger must be 6+ inches high and the steamed mussels entree is a large tasty bowl of the PEI variety)while covering a range of tastes and budgets. Convenient valet parking (@ $10.00 for 3 hours) is offered by the adjoining Hilton hotel. Overall, a solid John Besh offering.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the crawfish bisque whichHad the crawfish bisque which was wonderful! Shared cold platter with shrimp mussels oysters, just to die for. And the bread pudding was worth the wait.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Easter Brunch at Luke.We had Easter Brunch at Luke. The menu selections were very varied to please all tastes at l0:15. Everyone enjoyed their food. I mean LOVED the food. The waitress was extremely pleasant and attentive, but not over-bearing. I did not get her name. Orietal features, very soft voice.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best restaurantsOne of the best restaurants in New Orleans. Should one say more?3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome. We had such a great time. A party of 10----and service couldn't have been better from our server to the runners to the GM coming over to say hi and wish us a Happy Easter. The food was incredible too. We really loved it.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, lovely restaurantWe thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Luke....we had the Friday night special of Redfish CourtBoullion....a stew like dish with fish, oyster, shrimp, and crab. For $23 our meal also included a cup of crawfish bisque (exquisite!) and dessert of bread pudding topped with ice cream and sauce. All of the food (we also ordered salads) was well prepared and presented. Service was just average...server seemed pretty indifferent and abrupt...but we just ignored that and enjoyed our meal. Ambiance is lovely with lots of wood and pressed tin ceiling. It was pretty busy so restaurant was noisy but didn't interfere with meal.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSo amazing went back for lunchSo amazing went back for lunch the next day. Best gumbo I've had, and the bread pudding was from another world. Noisy, but very reasonable prices. Great for a 5 star experience with casual dress. VERY impressed.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I really enjoyedMy wife and I really enjoyed the dining experience. Highly recommend this restaurant!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a bit disappointedWe were a bit disappointed but that was our own fault for building our own hype for a JB restaurant. Most things were excellent : schnitzel, matzo ball soup, flamenkuche. Steak was not the best and the side serving of the pommes purée was almost cold. Service was very good.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
