Diner Reviews
  • "Referred to this restaraunt by a friend sand expected more food-wow but just good. "

  • "This is a good restaurant to dine in and is very comfortable. The food was good but the chocolate soufflé was great. A must have. We have eaten here every trip to Maui and continue to enjoy it. A little pricey but what isn't in Maui. We enjoy sitting outside and soaking up the breeze."

  • "We have eaten at many great restaurants around the world. We have paid far less for far better food. The entire Wailea area is overpriced for food in general but even given the inflated prices I would've expected more. We will not be returning to Longhi's until they raise the quality of their food back to their former glory."

  • "We had a table for four by the palms and it was like having an excellent dinner with friends under the open sky, in a tropical palm garden. We could speak with each other and actually hear each other with out shouting. Enjoyable dinner. The fish was wonderful, the pasta Bolognese is awesome and Richard our server the best! We keep going back because we are never disappointed."

  • "On our last trip to maui we dined at Longhis Lahaina and loved it. We originally had a reservation there but then discovered Longhis in Wailea. We are staying in Wailea so changed our reservation. So glad we did! The outdoor atmosphere is amazing! The service was great as was the food. My husband and I each had a fish special - fabulous! The kids loved the steak on the kids menu. We will be back!!"

  • "Seems to have slipped over the years, maybe relying on their reputation. Food and service were forgettable. Wines prices seemed pretty high. Don't seem to be trying too hard. Good place for lunch and perhaps breakfast. (Full disclosure: never tried it for breakfast)."

  • "This was our 3rd time to eat at. Although the service was excellent my husband thought the food was poor. My meal was wonderful, especially the Caprese Salad. As far as the view goes, condo's were built between the restaurant and the ocean and the view is gone."

  • "Maybe rated the best Italian in Maui...i didn't think so...."

  • "We had a great breakfast but our waiter was terrible. Couldn't keep our beverages filled, had to ask 3 times for iced tea refill. Overall, the food was good but it's wasn't worth $100 for breakfast for 4."

  • "With many superb dining options in Wailea it would be difficult to choose Longhi's again. The extraordinarily huge portions were just too much. The cocktails were nicely mixed, the artichoke appetizer was swimming in butter and parmesan cheese, much too rich. The fish special was very good however the chicken cannelloni was enormous with literally just a few small bite size pieces of chicken and little spinach in a mostly cheese filling. The dessert would have easily served four people. The outdoor patio with it's black and white tiled floor is nice enough but there is no view, just a wall and palms separating the dining from the road and parking structure. We have been here for breakfast in the past and it was a great choice for that meal."

  • "Waitress was knowledgeable, made good recommendations, and was sweet. The jalapeño cheese (my preference) and marinara cheese breads were a delicious surprise since the genre usually does garlic bread. The Caesar salad was good, and the seared ahi was perfectly seasoned and perfectly seared. They also had French press coffee which was a nice way to finish off the meal."

  • "They had it poorly set up for what is always a busy night in the industry. So it took away from the normal appeal and the hostess was constantly looking in to see if we were gone. Book accordingly and give your customer a great experience not a rushed - we have your table booked again in a hour experience. We have been coming to Maui for 35 years and expect more from them. The food was excellent ."

  • "Longhi's, located in the mall, has a nice atmosphere. The food choices are good however the prices are at the high end for the food quality. There are many other restaurant choices for this price range that should be checked out. Service was great."

  • "We've been to Longhi's many times and it is always a great experience. The food is carefully prepared and terrific. Though the menu is not very adventurous the execution is excellent. The staff is attentive. This is constantly one of the best places to eat on Maui."

  • "We were told that without a reservation for breakfast, the wait was 40 minutes for a table but, thankfully, we had made a reservation the night prior. The wait time comment was interesting because the restaurant was more than half empty when we were seated and during our entire meal. Our server was very pleasant. The food, unfortunately, took 45 minutes to arrive and some of it was cold. Our friends were in a rush to catch a flight so nothing was sent back. The quality of the food was good but not worth the price tag on it. I'm happy to pay more for excellent food but this was not considered close to excellent food by anyone at the table. I hadn't eaten here in years but wanted to see if it had improved. We will not eat here again."

  • "We've been to Maui many times but our first time at Longhi's. A pleasant surprise in every way! We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar - very friendly - then had a lovely meal in the dining area - our waiter was very courteous and helpful. Overall, a fun dining experience - we will certainly be back! Mahalo!"

  • "We started with some delicious "pizza bread" and thought we were in for a treat. While the service was very good, the rest of the food was "ho hum". My wife had the lobster crepes and they were about 95% cheese and 5% lobster, with the lobster being over-cooked/rubbery. I had the pasta arriabiiata and it was fine, but certainly NOT spicy. I had to add pepper flakes to get some heat. Also, there were two whole, semi-cooked garlic cloves -- I found the first by accident when it "crunched" in my mouth, but started looking and found the second which I nudged off to the side."

  • "My sister and I wanted a good, quick breakfast before departing the Wailea area and heading to the airport, and we found it at Longhi's. My sister had the Macadamia nut pancake which they were kind enough to provide in a half order of one pancake rather than two. She enjoyed the topping of finely chopped nuts and coconut syrup and thought it was the best pancake she had ever eaten in her life. For my 3 egg omelette I chose onions, mushrooms and broccoli from a long list of ingredients. I am picky about my eggs and they were just a little too moist for me. The freshly squeezed orange juice was divine and the open air very pleasant. All in all a great spot close to where we were staying and accommodating to our time constraints."

  • "One of the highlights of any trip to Maui are the dining experiences. For years, Longhi's, both in Lahaina and Wailea, have been among them. This time...not so much. For a view, go to Lahaina. View non-existent in Wailea. Too bad for us in Wailea. Waitstaff tends to be tad bit on the arrogant side. Living on Longhi's past reputation not going to get you much now. On three visits in 10 days, service was inconsistent and ranged from very good (Andrea) to fair (Jennifer) to horrible (Dustin). Food about the same. Inconsistent signature artichoke appetizer, delicious Longhi salad, terrible crab cake appetizer, ok calamari, and pretty good veal piccata and chicken masala. For good value, you can do better elsewhere on the island."

  • "My wife booked the reservation at Longhi's after having breakfast the same morning. Dinner was very good several choices on the menu and the fish was fresh and very tasty. One person in our party had the rizoto and loved it because it was made without cream. Deserts were very good as well and the appitizers were excellent. I would highly recommend eating here if you are in the area. Prices were as expected for the area."

  • "We read the reviews and they seemed good. It was close to our hotel and near all of the shops and looked good from the outside. My son's pizza was doughy and had no taste. My husband and I ordered a pasta/fish dish which had horrible flavored sauce with very littlle clams fish etc. and it was expensive. We told the waiter our opinion but he seemed to aleady know that it was not good tasting food and way overpriced. It is convenient but would rather eat fast food."

  • "This is my absolute favorite casual restaurant in Wailea. Food is always delicious & service is great. Don't miss the French press Maui Mokka coffee -- worth the trip from anywhere on Maui."

  • "We have mostly had breakfast at Longhi's lately, which is great, by the way, but we decided to venture out for an early dinner on New Year's Eve. We had calamari, ahi tuna, and crab cakes, respectively, for appetizers. For entrees, we had the Veronique preparation for the fish of the day, the scallops and salmon. All were amazing. My husband and son had the chocolate souffle, which I did not taste, but looking at what was left on their plates, I believe was excellent. I had the macadamia nut pie, which was fantastic. Probably one of the best restaurants in terms of price/quality/service. Our server was very attentive and non-intrusive. The place was packed, but at no point did we feel rushed. A great evening overall."

  • "Lobster canneloni and linguini with clams was excellent. But you have to save room for the mac nut pie (best shared)"

  • "We have been coming to Longhis for 20 years, starting with the location in Lahaina. It was always our "go to " restaurant. Not anymore. Every dish we had was poor from the salads to the entrees. All of them. It was not an "off" night. They have gone downhill and we wil not be back."

  • "Another great meal with excellent service - consistently good and will definitely return!"

  • "This may be the most overpriced restaurant I've ever been to. The food was extremely mediocre for the prices they charge, and the service was awful."

  • "Good quality food at an outpost in a shopping center no less. We were pleasantly surprised with food and service. Fish special was fantastic as was the eggplant parm . Nice wine list with even some special dessert wines."

  • "I love the food at Longhi's. The Shrimp and Scallops Longhi is one of the best creations on earth. Our waiter was less than stellar however. I could understand if they were busy but I think we were his only table...."

  • "My husband had the five course meal, I had Chicken Marsala and my husband had he steak. Everything was delicious and our waiter, Richard I think it was was excellent. I would definitely recommend Longhi's to others."

  • "We are long time Wailea Longhi fans. This night we decided to participate in the Wailea Restaurant Week and Longhi's pre-fixe menu. We were not disappointed! I had the ahi poke appetizer and the hubby had the beef tenderloin carpaccio , both were fresh and flavorful. The next course was the Longhi Longhi salad, the best Cesar Salad ever. For my main meal I had the Seared Ahi and the hubby had the surf and turf. Both were over the top fantastic. For dessert we had a sampling of Haupia pie and mango cheesecake....Yum! The wait staff, especially our waiter, was fun and attentive. With the exception of the crying triplet babies, It was a perfect meal!"
